Ferrari is not Formula one and Formula one is not Ferrari!! The sooner everyone realises this the better!! Anyway, yes MS is an itegral part of the team BUT he does not design and make the cars and Im fairly sure some of the key players are due to step down before 06. I pretty sure Byrne is meant to stop designing after 05? But Im not sure on this. The main reason Ferrari is so god is because of it's consistency in managment. Why do you think Ford after all the money it threw at Jag Rac never did anything? They kept changing the management of the team. The only way to beat Ferrari is to have a stable team with a great car.....abt like BAR would have had if DR hadnt have left!!

its easy to beat ferrari if all the teams stick 2gether. all they have to do is have a rotation of which teams turn it is to crash into shumi and barrichello.

Im still convinved that once all of the key team members at ferrari step down (Todt, Byrne, Brawn, schuey...) they will resume there place as a mid field team just like they were in the 80's, leaving the way for Mark Webber at williams to dominate!!! :)

yes, leaving the way for Kimi Raikkonen at McLaren to dominate!!! :)

But still it would be a pity to the sport that if the other teams could only start winning if certain ferrari workers stepped down.

That is so stupid!

What's the point in even racing a 2005 and 2006 season if everyone knows who's going to win?

Whatever I don't care who wins! I am a mclaren fan (hence the username) and being an aussie i like Webber to. Should be good this year at mclaren with Raikkonen being pushed a lot harder by Montoya than he was by DC

good for you!!!
Looks like McLaren have got a brilliant (if a little ugly) car this year. Hope Mark does well too!!!
However Im a BAR fan so really I want JB to do well 👍 :) :)

JB will do well, I think he might win a race or 2 this year. Apparently the new Honda has a lot of power.
I'm in a sticky situation this year as my Dad is a williams fan and me a mclaren fan, but I will have to chear Webber on...Uh if only Webber came to Mclaren!

I always thought the Mclaren was the nicest Formula1 car.

well normally it is, the 00,01,04 cars were great to look at but im not as convinced about the new one. I think the nose looks a little saggyand wide. No doubt itll be good though. Why are they the only team to stik with twin keel though?

I was watching on tv last night that Ferrari is actually having some problems to put up good lap times, because of the new tire´s rule. Since now they have to use the same set of tires for the qualifying and the whole race, the tires must be harder.

I think that Ferrari is the only team using Bridgestone´s tires this season, and they´re apparently not keeping up with Michelin´s quality.

Actually Jordan/Midland and Minardi are also Bridgestone shod teams. :)

Contrary to this threads title, i think it's going to be a tough season, i read that the telemetry shows both McLaren drivers have been lifting into turn 1, so they are sandbagging, Williams also look strong, as do BAR, but the fastest cars in testing appear to be the Renaults.
Being a Ferrari fan i'm hoping the when the F2005 comes out it shows some real pace, the F2004M doesn't look fast enough compared to some of the others right now... :)

Im not a ferrari fan but unfortunatly a realist!! Itll be like 03 agaian with Ferrari doing badly at the start of the season but probably still wining then getting their new car out and blitzing everyone....sorry guys :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

You could be right, indeed i hope you are, i'm also a realist, and i'm under no illusion that this current 'streak' will eventually come to an end.

As much as i appreciate what your saying there, the new rules don't play into Michaels hands, like Ross Brawn has already said, Michael is amazing at 20 lap stints, but in the process he's very hard on his tyres.

I don't think this season is going to be as easy as last year, guess we'll have to wait and see, although like i said, i hope you're right.... :)

I always thought MS was good on his tyres. Well you learn sommat new every day!! The new rules definitely play into the hands of those guys who can make their tyres last like Button, maybe Trulli and Webber too. But it also depends on how well the car handles them, particularly at the rear, (i think?)
Also this tyre thing is not going to:
a) decrease costs coz Michelin and B.Stone will have spent tonnes of cash researching new compounds.
b) improve racing coz drivers wil be going round thinking "I cant late break him there coz Ill have no tyres left and it s only x lap!" I dont get why Max thinks this was a good idea. Itsdumb and it wont work!!! :banghead:

Tyres can be changed if they are deemed dangerous, i think this was incase of punctures from carbon fibre shards or similar, although i wonder if 'flat-spotting' the tyre also can be deemed as dangerous as it can violently vibrate at high speed, i guess it's still a bit of a grey area.

Michael Schumacher believes he will have a “much more difficult year” in 2005.
The world champion believes that Ferrari’s rivals will learn from the mistakes they made last year – but he has warned that he will not give up without a fight.
He told the Sunday Times: "I'm sure it will be a much more difficult year.
"Firstly, it was unexpected for us to be much stronger than the others at the start of 2004, and whatever mistakes they made they probably won't repeat.
"At the same time, it has been very tough to get to where we are and we'd like to hold on. I believe we can."
But Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn believes his driver will have to tailor his driving technique if he wants to dominate again this year, given changes to the sport’s regulations.
He believes the new rules could play into the hands of team-mate Rubens Barrichello instead.
He said: “One thing Michael does supremely is drive in stints - say, 20 laps flat out, then come in and change the tyres and start again.
"This year, with only being allowed one set of tyres per race, he'll have to adapt.
"What's interesting is that he has always been harder on tyres than Rubens, so he's going to have to be much more measured."
