So doesnt gt 5 have a leaderboard system where you can hotlap tracks and get ranked with all players.
If not does anyone know if gt6 will

I was in the best racing team in forza and we hotlap alot.

Xbox one or Xbox I'm done lol ain't gonna happen for me and I like the look of gt I played the old one years ago and it was good can't remember what one but I unlocked a like an f1 type car lol I like the licence aspect too. looking at the weather and night racing with lights on ect makes forza look a bit bland.

Store front I guess isn't a big deal for me as I can make my own tunes and don't paint anyway.

If gt6 was released on ps4 close to release date it would be a no brainer. But I can't buy a ps4 and have no racing game up to gt or forza type standards.

I looked in game today they had ps3 for £80 so probably be half that on eBay so it looks like a good option for now but I may just wait a little longer and see if they announce gt6 on ps4. It does seem strange that they'd bring out a big game on an old console tho

GT5P had a full time trail leaderboard system that was pretty cool, different than Forza but cool. There was basically a separate section for each car and each track. Stock only but it really gave you a good idea of how well you did in any car on any track as all were driving the same setup.

GT5 had no leaderboards on release then they added seasonal events which have a time trail and drift trail that changes regularly. These are the onyl leaderboards aside from the local practice leaderboard in GT5.

I am hoping that we get a proper leader board in GT6 but there has been no official word on that as of yet. I did see after the release of GT5 that they were working on it though so hopefully we will get it. We'll see.

I have a small team and most of us also do a lot of hotlapping.

Jesus no full leaderboards in a racing game lol that's like having no score in a football game. Howether I'm currently looking on eBay for a ps3 lol. Think ill keep both untill gt is released on ps4 then buy that.

Last question how is online racing balanced and do you race your tuned and built cars.

GT5 uses the PP system, which works about well as Forza's PI system (they both have some major problems, but they are different problems). GT you can filter by specific PP number rather than classes, and you can race tuned cars unless the room is set to stock cars only. I wouldn't expect any of this to change for GT6.

Yeah we really really need to have leaderboards in an online game of this sort.

There is a PP system [Forza uses PI] that you can optionally use. You can also set up a race to use specific types of cars.

The big differences in the PP system from Forza is that tires do not count. You can set a lobby to run a best tire type. The PP is pretty much based soley on Power to weight ratio and aero of the car. adding downforce increases PP removing downforce decreases PP on many cars even 1 notch on the DF adjustment changes the PP. You also have the ballast weight that you can add and an adjustable power limiter which allows you to fine tune the PP and opens up a whole lot of possibilities for cars within a given PP range.

There is also a shuffle mode which picks the cars for you based on a group of cars and changes from race to race based on where you finished. The last place guy gets a better car the first place guy gets a weaker car.

There are options on drafting strength and there is an optional catch up mode for the slow cars if you choose to enable it. In general there are a few more options of having a competitive race with many different cars and/or drivers of different skill levels.

And Forza is definitely the better game and GT5 the better Sim.

Actually that is backwards, the career mode in FM4 is mundane with the exact same championship races for every class. I couldn't finish it it was too repetitive. So I give career mode to GT5.

But the physics are better in FM4, I like the grip/slip sensation, but it's still not perfect, but better than the grippy cars in GT5. The reason I went back to play GT5 is because of the 550 car garage limit in FM4, I like to collect all the cars and since I couldn't I just stopped playing it.

Either way there is a strong possibility Next Gen console will get Project CARS by 2014 which by the looks of things seem to be fantastic

You have been warned...

Since you appear to be a pad player, one of my biggest dislikes in playing GT is the DSC controller.

The location of the steering stick is completely awkward to me, and the triggers aren't designed and have as good of feel as the XBC does.

The XB controller is much better for racing as well as other gaming IMO.

Of course you could always go to a wheel, as many here would suggest.

As far as GT6, we don't really know much at this point, except it will release on PS3.
Which puts me in a similar position as you.
I will end up defaulting to GT6 since I don't see myself buying the new XB1 or PS4 for quite sometime, if ever.

If you can afford a wheel look into getting a G25 (must not cost much these days),Makes the experience so much better and If you finally bought a PS3 then try some of the exclusives on offer ,don't buy a console for a single game only.

You could literally have answered all of those questions by searching.

Poor form, chap.

You could literally of saved yourself some time and effort and not post like a mod

As for the g25 I've heard it's really good. Anyone know if it will work on the ps4 or not

 Good one!

But seriously, I'm just gonna go ahead and assume you're a little bit dense.

can you do manual with clutch on a pad.

No.

Will gt 6 be released on the ps4

Maybe.

Does it have a store front or player shop area where people can sell tunes and paints.

No.

I'm a awesome tuner and made many rank 1 cars in the world and like to sell them.

Ok.

What's the tuning like is in indeph like say you can do spring rates anywhere from 20lbs to 100's or is it sof medium hard type settings.

The first one.

Also what's the lobbies like can you create your own lobbies

Yes.

What real life tracks have they got maybe even for gt5 will do

Loads.

As for the g25 I've heard it's really good. Anyone know if it will work on the ps4 or not

Probably.

Well it's better than your first response so thank you

So is using the clutch improve lap times?
I ask as in forza it does

I like how everyone answers this particular user's question 500 times. Gosh, he gets the point! And you guys shouldn't tease him. He's new like a lot of the members that do something wrong. We learn from mistakes. I've been there, and a lot of us have, too.

No GT is nothing like Forza in that aspect.

Forza gives you a unfair advantage when using the manual clutch over any other option especially in the slower cars, since they introduced this feature in Forza 3 not a single normal car appears near the top of any circuit track that is not using the manual clutch where before you would see a few using an auto trans in the top 10.

In GT the cars behave more realistic in this way. Using the clutch pedal makes your shifting slower rather than giving you a boost, where as the paddle shifts with auto clutch are very fast as is the auto trans shifting.

Many cars shift faster than they should so if anything those who use the clutch are at a disadvantage to those who do not.

Ok sweet.
Thanks think that covers everything I can think off and ill have it online in a few days if the postman is nice and fast :)

Why am I a troll grow up you fool I wouldn't sign up to a forum to troll. We ain't all as childish as your mind.

I actually just bought a ps3 today on eBay and will be posting some tunes up within 2 weeks. I'm a top 100 in the world easily forza player who's now off to play station as Xbox one is a joke.
I asked all the questions I wanted answers too and most people respected that and left the bs out and just answered.

Obviously tho as with anywhere there is always idiots

Welcome Boom. Be prepared for a couple of small update installs on GT. (nothing too bad, make a sandwich or something).

Take care.

Yeah

Ok I keep thinking I'm done with questions but here's another lol

Thanks

I think the Spec II includes some of the updates and DLC but could be wrong.

there are a few DLC for GT5 the most notable are the Spa track and the Motegi track pack. There are also a few car packs.

PSN is still free on PS3

Try and find a 'complete edition' as that will have most of the DLC on the disk, and should work out to be better value.

Depends on your region. If you live in North America, the XL Edition includes the first round of DLC and about half of the updates. If you live in Europe, the Academy Edition game includes almost all of the DLC and all but a couple of the updates. There is cars and tracks, but due to the way it is all implemented (or, to be more honest, how none of it is implemented) you might find the value of them highly questionable if buying separately.
