I know new tracks and the already popular ones would be good to drive and race on in GT5 but as GT is a real driving simulator so it would be a really thrilling concept of including some old style races like mille-miglia.They dont have to be long like the older days such as 500-600 miles but just maybe 50 to 100 miles long.Sir Stirling moss has said that since they started to race on race tracks it took the fun out of racing by removing the unpredictability.

GT is a driving game and simulator and the fun of driving with 15 other guys in a race distance of 50 miles from one poin to another would be very challenging and rewarding as we would'nt be able to remember the racing line, braking distance and turn-ins and that is why we love the ring because its so long and ultimate test of a driver and car.Driving on a race track feels like racing and driving on a long-distance race would be more true to the DNA of GT as a driving simulator.Imagine driving through country towns and roads in parts like scotland, the transfagarasan in romania and italy and other locations around the world. It would really feel like real driving from town to town on the limit and being in a race would be a bonus.

I would love that, but I don't think that there is a realistic chance to see mille-miglia like races in GT5. But maybe in GT6 ^^.
I hope there is at least a track like Fuji Kaido (Forza 3) in GT5.

That would be great but think how long it would take to even create one 50 mile track in detail, It would make your head spin I think.

Sorry to sound silly but what is Mile-Miglia? I have heard of it but just never known what it is.

The Mille Miglia (1000 miles) in english was a race around italy on open roads, can't remember if it was actually 1000 miles or not. Check it out on wiki.

would be amazing to see something like this, but I doubt it would happen?

Yes it was. A true test of drivers stamina. 10-12 hour stints of 10/10ths racing, on closed public roads.

mille miglia is not raced anymore due to a fatal crash happened 50ish years ago, BUT now every year (i guess is every year) a parade is held with cars of the 1000 miglia era and they drive trough the old "track" of course these are open public roads but the aim is to show the well kept ride not to go fast!

I would love there to be some point to point races.
Whether it be the stelvio pass (which was part of the original mille miglia) or a fictional japanese touge like forza 3. I must admit that, as well of the extensive customisation of cars, is the only thing i get a little envious of!

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but there is not a chance this will be in GT5. If you had started this thread 2-3 years ago, and if it then would have gotten enough attention, then perhaps, but now it's too late.

Might be a bit nitpicky here, but that Forza 3 track actually isn't point to point at all. It's a closed circuit that can be broken up into several point to point races. I believe it's shorter than the Nürburgring which also allows point to point races. But it's a very nice track and I'd love it if GT5 had a similar, but true point to point, track.

One reason I've posted a few times on here to raise the profile of the Isle of Man Snaefell Mountain Circuit.

Would be more suitable to a TT2 release than GT5 / 6, but would still make an awesome car road race course (and was originaly used for car racing, not bike racing).

At 37.73 miles of public roads, the circuit has more corners than are officially counted - and it makes the Nordschliefe look positively short. 200mph plus on public roads - other motorsport looks tame in comparison

Oh, and the lap record is 17 mins 12.30 seconds

It has previously been digitally reproduced by Jester Interactive for TT Superbikes on the PS2, but would be a real WOW at PD standards.

Now that is what I am talking about:tup:

If your unfamiliar with the TT Course, check out the vid of a practice lap below

Watch the telemetry readout for the initial acceleration through the streets of Douglas, and again at 7:20, up through the village of Kirkmichael at 150+ mph

Second part, with the Mountain section, is here

This gives a good taster too....

And if anyone on here wants to witness this motorsport festival first hand - get over to the Isle of Man for late May /early June, at least once in your life.

First time I went I was awestruck - racers going past you at full tilt with just a metre of fresh air (and a hay bale) between you and them......

Who knows, maybe PD have figured out some way to "generate" scenery on a track we create, isn't there rumours of a track editor?

I mean, all you would need would be some auto generated trees and armco, you draw the track and the game fills in the blanks ?

Wishfull thinking !
