What was the lap record SM?

Indy- Was your car too low causing kerb trouble?

Yes, thats why i spun out on Lesmo and troubles on Ascari in time trial but if i had my orginal height settings i was avg low 1.17s

Low 1.17's is a very respectable time and what I did for a lot of the race. Maybe you should have kept them 👍

Thats the way, look on the rankings or the leaderboard and aim to beat the guys directly above you 👍
I am not sad to be missing GVS next sun, its an evil track.

No, Bert, you must suffer with us or you lose all your points bwahahahahahaha

Haha, I am away doing a course so cant make it. Luckily judging by the poll results it wont hurt my chances 👍 :D

• All efforts must be made to avoid contact
• Blocking is illegal in the FGTC but bump drafting is fine.
Was scrolling down the OP and found this slip up
You are familiar with the concept of bump drafting?

You cant blame me really, I hate dirty driving with a passion, and I do agree with you, I watched the replay and you were turning quite hard... AT ME! But anyway, I will send a complaint to Brett and he'll sort it.

Spurgey the same thing happened to me at Indy Speedway in the GT planet Indy cars. I was leading with 1 turn to go and somebody drove into the inside grass, swung up, took me out then won the race. The person proceeded to get no penalty. :(

This kind of thing happens, although I deserve a penalty for it. I think I'm very reasonable and the incident was an accident. Also important to remember were not driving for real. Real driving is not the same as this!! Nobody would have finished that one if they were real cars. :sly:

Well from my replay you drove across the other side of the track pushing me off. Also Brett, if bump drafting was illegal, it would only be the person behind who got a penalty, because the person infront has no control over being pushed, right?

Guys, lets not discuss it here please. It will be sorted by the stewards and yes Spurgey, that is correct.

Everything said here is the answer to life. Since it's page 42. ^_^

What is a general good time at GVS? Im getting 1:18-1:19 and the track record is 1:17, was that in the race with draft or a stand alone time?

I will do later, I dont like it either  Oh and check your phone as well :) Also, I forgot to say this yesterday, sorry to Smartheart at Ascari, didnt compensate enough on the braking with the draft and couldnt stop, didnt mean to hit you off, it was entirely my fault :(

Race Report:

Qualifying was poor as I only got one lap which was a high 1:18 and the other lap consisted of a lot of sand.

I started on mediums as I new I was slower than most others and off the line was pretty sweet I got a good start and passed Nethereal. The first turn was pretty good for me, a little shunt in the back but nothing major. I saw IndyWolf get taken out and felt sorry for him. First five laps were pretty poor, kept putting in sloppy times and going wide ect. I caught up with Lozzy and Sandman who were having a battle and had a good fight with those two. I passed Neth as I belive he span into the sand somewhere. Then I pitted on lap 15 putting in 35 litres and onto the softs.

I got retook whilst I wasin the pits by Neth, Sandman and Lozzy as they were doing a longer stint. I came out behind Spurgey and used his slipstream for a few laps then he got away. I put some nice laps in as I had a bit of room and passed Sandman and Neth as they pitted. Sandman wasn't far behind me and we had some close racing for five laps or so until he shunted me into the wall at the second chicane. I pitted on lap 30 and put 60 litres and onto a fresh pair of softs.

I had 2 offs in the last stint and couldn't catch retake Sandman when he pitted as he put some blistering times in before. So instead it was the battle to hold 6th from Nethereal who was gaining on me drastically in the last 5 laps but I held it and it was a decent 6th place result.

Great racing guys and good yielding, could of had a few less offs on my behalf but still good fun. Looking for a top 6 again at GVS maybe higher. But defending my 4th position at Spa and maybe looking to get my first poll.

Nice report Etid 👍

GVS isnt that bad, the first sector is sweet and the last. Its the bit in between I hate :D

So when did this bump drafting rule come in? It's not in the old thread and I don't think it was in this one until recently.
I don't know if I agree with it, it should maybe (and that's a big maybe) be allowed for team mates, but by bump drafting drivers who aren't on your team you can gain an unfair advantage through contact. I don't think it's right for that to be allowed.

I feel a poll coming on whether bump drafting should be banned or allowed.

I have never used it apart from mine and spurgeys domination at Indy race way in the FGTs!

I put it in when the thread changed over. I cant do another poll unfortunatley but we can ban it if enough people agree.

Bump drafting
Yes 0
No 0

imagine bump drafting f1 cars IRL haha.

and pagey, i cant remember it being discussed before now.

brett, i vote no. f1 driving should be down to skill, besides it can be quite dangerous imo. 👍

I vote no, as Brett demonstrated at Monza, it can make you go a second a lap faster on some tracks which is unfair and not realistic. I think the old thread also said that chasing drivers cannot bump lead drivers or something like that anyway.

Vote for NO too.
Bump drafting is for NASCAR´s and not for F1´s//FGT´s.

Sorry for not taking part but I had a good reason => PM for Brett
Will try to make it to GVS although I despise the combo.

Bump drafting
No 6
Yes 0

I am getting the impression this was a bad idea.

Also while we are voting Sandman came up with the idea of using certain tyres for certain tracks (in the dry) like in real F1.
For example- SS= Hard, RH=Medium, RM=Soft, RS= Super soft
Only 2 types of tyre would be available for each track depending on where we are racing. Street circuits would be Medium - Super Soft and dedicated circuits would be Hard- Soft.
Obviously this would have to be tested before introduction but it may lead to better strategy flexibility. Let me know what you think.

Tyres
Keep it as it is 0
Introduce the new tyre system this season 1
Bring it in is S4 (if there is one) 0

Copy and paste this then add you vote 👍

Top row=Soft(RM)- Medium (RH)- Hard(SS)
Bottom row= Intermediate (RI)-Racing rain (RR) -Super Soft (RS)

if anyone is still confused,

In real F1 the Current F1 tyre supplier Pirelli have a range of four dry-weather compounds: super soft, soft , medium and hard. Two of the four, selected in advance by Pirelli according to circuit characteristics, are available for teams to use at each Grand Prix - one harder 'prime' tyre and one softer, quicker but less durable 'option' tyre.

I vote for 3.

Only 3 2 brett ;) (because we only use 2 compounds) types of tyre would be available for each track depending on where we are racing. Street circuits would be Medium - Super Soft and dedicated circuits would be Hard- Soft.
