Saturday was a emotional event yes, and situations like that is why a lot of host end up giving or dumping their series, but I stubborn "n" hard headed so I will keep pushing until we have something epic in place here. I'm glad your coming back I need you for testing and such. Team viper would of had a blast today if you could of made the grid. We had 11 to 12 drivers I believe today so things are looking up for this series. Yesterday was a disaster but today was epic in its own way! Hopefully is wasn't just the track tho' @ everyone!!!

Results from MR, not QR

Some advice from a very happy Aussie, you can spend all your life trying to please others, and never be happy yourself, or you can screw everyone else and please yourself, Real family will never turn you away when you are available,

I barely talk to my family anymore for the same deal, but it was to do with my chosen employment of working 6 nights a week, But hey, I could be racing in May for real, and they will still be living hollow boring lives having boring as barbeques when I'm tearing around a track with my hair on fire at 135MPH,

Morale to this is, please yourself! do what makes you happy, like your wife, gaming, etc remember that you have to live with you everyday,

Anywho, perhaps this might suit you better being a possible week day thing,

I know Joe, Jonnyb and memto were already interested, now just need to sort out the fine print,

I'm going to drop V8SC and Bankfin after some hate mail I recieved, stupid git couldn't be bothered dating my threads and seeing they were older then anything that has been created that doesn't resemble the newer series in any way,

You are abso-Freakin-lutely right there TDZ. Racing online for me took the place of the real thing after my best friend died whom I used to pit for.
As I stated on the JSTC forum. As of today it stops with my family. I'm only here on this earth to please my wife and me. 👍

We do need to stick with the start times unless discussed ahead of time. Like a few days before, not day of lol. 👍
Races are every two weeks and the times are listed. I understand now that there is still about two weeks before daylight savings time is over with in the other countries.

I switched the setup on my Vette and immediately went and did a 2:14.1 for 4 laps straight after the race. I think I may end up using that car. I found myself a nice little setup for it. Works pretty good. The RX7 LM was right with it though. 2:14.2 with that on my 2nd lap.

Wish I could've stayed for the main race especially after my wonderful line through Eau Rouge early in the qr. Where and when are we racing next?

by the looks of the chart it would be grand valley is it not?? i hope it is :P

joe for the first race how would you say the points were handed out as the "QR" was longer than the "MR" is it still qr points and mr point??? (i am far to competitive for my own good :P )

He meant for Indy, where we did the 25 laps first race and 12 for the "main race" Dave.

I still think there might be something to doing the QR on Friday or Saturday then the MR on Sunday, otherwise everyone leaves after the first race which kills the main race a bit especially since it's longer so a bit less sprint like anyway.

I like the current way and had planned to stay yesterday but my st. pattys day company showed up earlier than I had thought.

I cant work that out, why would you leave after the QR, honestly I think the QR should be shorter and the MR a touch longer,

I'm rushing to go to work now, but I will answer all these questions in a couple of hours when i return from work. I started this series at 300km because usually it pulls the enduro drivers out of the wood works but that entirely didnt happen here so I was thinking until we get 16 driver grids, the QR should be 10 laps and the MR should be 20 laps. If we want more and the future then we can simply increase this amount. Unfortunately we are still finding out what works with everyone at this point in time. Another topic is after the QR race do we rev grid for the MR race. I'm not worried about sand-baggers because a win is a win so drivers will still try to win whenever there's a chance. But for drivers like me and Racefan we could monopolize on a tragedy that happen to us early on in the race,... I do want to get this figured out because I'm not as slow as I have recently placed, I'm falling down the grid either do to no practice because of hosting duties are like what happen yesterday where I backed out of knockout qualifying to try to get a driver to join, but that driver ended up being a spectator to the series and cost me to start from the back of the pack.

GT5 is almost dead mate, we should be happy to get 10 drivers most of the time,

Plus I'd rather the current 10 drivers over an extra 6 that bring us chaos, The race yesterday was fantastic, on of the best races on GTP I have been involved in,

Yeah I agree with the 10 good drivers rather than a more chaotic 16, yesterday was action packed clean racing. There was the odd bump but you can't help that going 3 or 4 wide through certain corners. As long as we are aware of other drivers and give a little bit of space then will shall be fine.

joe i know how you feel organising stuff like this, ive been doing it for ages and the amount of let down is depressing, i can say that your doing an fantastic job and keep at it, if there is anything you need from me just let me know... its a great series and a good turn out so far

Yea I went for a bump draft attempt on Dave but it ended up putting us both in the grass. Sorry dave at least none of us spent out of control, we got handles! 👍

Hahahahaha, we were so good at it at Fuji, How did we fail at it when we are suppose to be team mates????

First, since I've not said it yet, last two rounds have been fantastic Joe. I have no problem with the racing which has been tidy, fast and generally great.
I have no problem with a reverse grid, in fact I think it would be great; although if you're going to do that, make both races the same length like in touring cars? It would mean that (without trying to sound egotistical) that players like memto, Calum and myself would have to actually make passes rather then forming a break away.
As a personal note it'd make me kick myself less since if you come from last and fight your way to 3rd or 4th that's a good result, but if you spend the whole race fighting one guy who pips you to the line it sucks lol

I'm also good with rev grid too, I believe it would make the 2nd race a lot fun for the slower guys. At this point I would like to receive from all the drivers what that would like to race for the 1st race and 2nd race distances. The original format I had in mind doesn't seem to work with everyone's schedule when we get to the main race, but with rev grid this may change since the front runners get to attempt at it again from the back in the back placers who got scrubbed off, can now attempt to hold off the lead until the end on race 2. On another note It's not so much like Blancpain any more but I'm keeping the title because overall Blancpain means all GT cars so,.. That's good enough for me1

I was thinking 75km for the QR which now will be Rd #1 if we switch to rev grid, and 125km for the MR (Rd #2), to complete a distance of 200km which is easy to do for most drivers. But 100km/100km is fine with me and also 50km/150km is fine with me as well. If in the future we want more distance do to the series really taking off we can simply increase the race distances until we reach 300km distances in total combined races.

-Thoughts on race distances and rev grid option?

I set this series up to ride on the weekends that I don't have my daughter and because of March having 5 wks in it the scheduling is off so we need to race either this weekend March 24th or the weekend of April 7 which is 3 wks away :ouch: I figure this week since everyone is feeling good about the series so far?,... With the other schedule I wouldn't make any of the races so I apologize for getting the scheduling scrambled but there was popular demand early on so I responded to it.
👍

I was rushing so fasst I total did not read this, but thanks man I really appreciate your willingness. The more drivers that show up the more popular a series gets so I'll be here until there is no one who wants to race anymore. My goal is to setup premiere class racing, and all you guys driving different cars and giving input is the most I could ask for. Thank God Seth had some pretty solid regs to start with in the 1st place! :sly:👍
  • I updated the op racing lounge section by adding FreshSeth83 & TnT 2000 to host the races in their private lounges in the case of me being absent.
  • The 2nd box on the op will list the new car pics and reg's with drivers, and I will add round results google.docs spreadsheets page to the main tread so people can track our progress. All will be up and running by this weekend and our op will be that much better and professional Tyvm,... 👍

I'd prefer 100km/100km with a reverse grid, equal points for both. Can't make this weekend but I can do April 7th

👍

I'm up for all that you roposed Joe. 👍

Yes I can host the room if you'rr not here, or seth. 👍

I don't mind a reverse grid. I would have been challenging for the win but I didn't setup any of the cars. I just made them the power and weight required and jumped in. The Z was slow on the straight but good in the turns. Could have been even better too but no tune! Lots of decisions to make on car choice.

Ok so for now I'm going to change the format to 100km/100km w/ rev grid, and then maybe in the future if we want more we can get back up to 150km/150km for a total of 300km. I will also put us on the correct weekends too so me and Jb can make the next races. Call me drastic but I'm also going to change the name of our series to Blancpain FIA GT3 Series since were running shorter distances and the chance we might shuffle down to 2 driver teams in the future! 👍

- I hate the beginnings sometimes,...

Lets start a sign up sheet so drivers know that their practice isn't wasted. I do suggest if don't get more then 7-8 drivers per round then we should opt for racing the next schedule calendar date.
