If we did another, which track would you want it to be held at?

Depending how many of you are remaining, you might be able to have a race in a seperate room.

Edit: Bad timing Adam :P.

If your having another in 4 weeks I'll qualify today cause I'm really pissed off at blowing my qualifying.

Have to leave, sorry.

Race started later than I expected, and I have to be in the nationwide race now. I was doing good at the start, until I clipped the grass braking for the bus stop. Lost jkt's draft and a spot to wiifreak in the process.

Then I crashed in Eau Rouge two laps in a row, the first time right in front of Dennis :(

Woah wtf happened?! Did the room blow up on the last lap?

I saw Green and Paginas freaking slam off the course near Stavelot right on the very last lap, collected 4th place then crossed the line... saw a really weird error message with dashes all over the place instead of cars in the final standings screen, then I saw people disconnecting one by one, then I got disconnected. Seems like the room 'sploded.

But Biffy Won! Finally man! Great job!

Had a great race with WRP though, nice driving man, it was close at a lot of points. Lots of fun.

I was able to get a quick screen grab of the results before my capture program refreshed, this was exactly before I got disconnected:

Summary of my race:

Started good by getting the lead right away. Held onto it just before my first pit stop then decided to pit. After that stop I was trying my best to hang onto Adam but was finding it a bit difficult. On lap 11 coming out of Rivage I clipped the grass and damn near wrecked the thing. At that point I remembered that I was only doing this race for fun and I wasn't having fun pushing the car at 110%, so I backed off to ~90% and cruised from there.

Can't remember what lap it was but the GT3 cars were coming through the field for the 2nd time and I braked early for Pouhon to let Paginas go through. I guess he wasn't ready for that because I got hit in the back and sent spinning off the track. No big deal, mainly my fault and it almost cost me 2nd place. I was starting to sweat at the end there with WiiFreak breathing down my neck. I think the DC may have saved my ass.

I came in knowing with Adam racing in GT4 that 2nd place was my spot, so I guess I'm happy with it. :)

👍 Great fun.

I made my last pit with you which was a mistake given I set up the whole race to have a short final stint and push to the finish. Denilson was breathing down my neck and my tires were getting low so I followed you in. Should have let Denilson go by and done another lap and then had something for you in the final stint. Still great fun though. I really enjoyed the two classes and managing traffic.

I got DC'd as well right after the finish. I think there were 4-5 DC's on the last lap, but the room didn't explode as I went back and people were still there. Lucky for me it was after the finish, but a lot of other guys DC'd on the last lap. 👎

On the bright side starting with 16 didn't seem to be a problem as far as lag.

sorry RT I was hoping you would do that but for some stupid reason I left it to the last minute and bang it was too late. All my fault sorry.

Eddie I finished the race on my screen but got dc waiting for others lol

Wow, that race was just crazy and I can't believe I came out with a win, in fact my first proper race win at GTP, so happy and sooo sweaty  Feel so lucky considering my almost-catastrophic decision to pit on Lap 10 (I for some reason thought it was 3 stints instead of 3 pits :dunce::dunce::dunce:), and the awkward lapping I had to do on some cars (no fault of theirs, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.. fake degner corners etc). I almost screamed when I came out in front of the lead pack after my 2nd pit lol, and from there I had Dennis trying to catch up to me, but somehow I managed to keep him at arms length out of my draft, and maintained consistency until the final two laps where I was so nervy :scared:

I'll do a race report later, for now I need to rest because I spent the whole race just being generally scared out of my wits at what was happening around me!

Thanks Aderrm for setting this race up and to all the participants.
Had a fairly lonely race for 3/4 of it. Wiifreak passed me just before we both pitted and was just a bit too fast for me to keep up with, the GT3 cars that went through and about a lap with R1600Turbo after his second stop was all the company I had from then on :).
Really happy with the consistency of my laps over the race, even overusing my first 2 sets of tyres I only had one off. Apart from that one lap I kept between 2'30.5 and 32.5 over my 7 lap runs.
Had a great time :D

My frame rate was slow, but not enough to really throw me off.

yeah, until mule dropped off I had bad frame rates on the SF straight. wasn't too bad and fine everywhere else.

My race:
Started ok, had a decent first stint holding on to the leaders. Second stint I wanted to catch up a bit so I started tempting the kerbs. Bad idea. The GT doesn't like the spa kerbing. Full throttle + kerb = dice roll for a random (~33% chance) insta-spin. Car snapped on me twice in the same 7 lap stint; once in blanchemont and then a lap later before rivage. :ouch:

3rd stint was going ok til I came up on a GT4 car that took to the left after eau rouge rather than drifting out to the natural racing line before the turn onto the kemmel straight. So massive lockup and evasive maneuver caused me to end up in the wall with a wonky left front. Which went away exactly at the end of the straight, tugging me back onto the grass and into a snap-over to the opposite wall.

Final stint was smooth sailing though; the car was a ton better on low fuel. So I had fun at the beginning and end but the middle was a disaster. My worst race in about a year. :indiff:

I gotta say guys, it looks like a hell of a lot of effort when into this, props to you all :)

Thank you so much Adam for setting this race up, and to all of you who raced. 👍

Mini report:

I had not raced on-line since the PURE | JGTS race on Feb 12th, so did not expect to do well at all.
I started practicing like 1 hour before official quali deadline, so it did'nt look like I was going to find a good tune in that short period of time.
I loosened up the car a lot to try and help my tyre wear, cause it was terrible. On my 4 lap practice sessions in free run, my tyres was very worn already by the end of lap 2.. Things did'nt look good.
But a few last minute tweaks to the setup helped me to reduce the wear quite a lot.

So I felt that I had a decent chance at running sub 15's in my Vette, seeing I did a 15.04X in practice.
It did'nt go that well, but a 15.8XX had to due. After all the grid position is'nt that important for such a long race.

So when the race starts, we're (GT3's) parked to the right while the GT4 cars does their 2 pre-formation lap formation laps..
When the GT4 pack flew past us on the straight/finish i was LMFAO when someone charged pass us leaning on his horn!!
I could'nt stop smiling and renembered how fun it is to race such drivers as yourselves. 👍

So, race starts, and I'm staying in position initially, trying to find my pace, and also trying to fighure out how to set my strategy up. So when top 3 (Minion, Dom and Jordan) had a gap of 2-3 seconds to Tim, me, green and Pag (Eddie and WRP had falled behind a tad), I decided to try and jump ahead with an early stop. So I threw my car into the pits by lap 6, and it was successful. I jumped everyone except Jordan, who for some reason did'nt pit at this time.
So I was now trying hard to keep Minion and Dom out of my slip, and did so really well. I even pulled a gap.. Then, by lap 9-11ish, I was on my way to enter Eau Rouge, and I saw a GT4 car half way thru, so I was thinking for my self "Perfect, he'll make Eau Rouge before I catch him, and I can pass him easy on the kemmel straight without me getting stuck behind"...
Yea, right..
The GT4 car cought a huge slide, went out to the right, and the straight across the track.. Leaving me no option but to hit him, and front damage as a result. This made me loose around 4 seconds, and Minion and Dom caught up to me again.. :(

But I managed to keep Minion behind for a few more laps, but he finally overtook me when my tyres could'nt hold on any more due to my early pit.

From this point, after the 2nd stop, I ran in 2nd, about 5-6 seconds behind Jordan.. And I could not for my life catch him.
It seems like he planned his first stop too late, but because of traffic and accidents in my pack (Minion, Dom), he managed to pull away over the entire 10 lap stint, from then on, he was always on fresh rubber, and that really noticed..

So finally, huge gratz to Jordan and Adam for the respective wins. And I'm happy with my own race as well.
Clean driving from all of you! 👍

If it was so good could you guys run another one at another track? I would like to get a shot at this.

Great stuff everyone. 👍

Yeah the frame rate was quite bad, but wasn't so bad when you adjusted to it (which I'm not very good at I must admit!)

At least we did a race with 16 drivers and we all finished the race (nearly :P).

ABS was not disallowed. It would have stopped you from entering the track if you had it on prior.

Could I get some feedback from you lot?

Do you want another race like this?
Spa again or a different track?

I figured the speed differences were slightly too large between GT3 and GT4 so I'll come up with something in between if we do another one. Will post the results (of what I can) later. 👍

Another race like this in a few weeks time would be great! But at a different track though, like Monza or Nurburgring GP/F.

Nice read up Denilson :). The guy on the horn, that was me :D. I'd definitely be up for another one of these Adam, different track though. Laguna Seca could be interesting? I'd much prefer Tsuska though as its a much more forgiving track. Either would be good. Consider myself signed up :).

Laguna Seca could be interesting . No to Tsukuba - too small and narrow.

Shall I get a poll up?

yea would like another
frame rate was odd at times but hey I had great fun.

Monza could be interesting but may get a tad boring all up for nurg tho

Awesome job Adam and it was fun racing with many of you for the first time. Real quality driving from the entire group.

I really appreciate your ability to equalize all these cars. Ton of work and skill required there. In the WRS we usually end up with one makes to save time, but this was fun variety. 👍

I would definitely consider another, but i got lucky with rain outs this time and we are heading into dry season here in California soon so Saturdays will be tough, but I would make an effort and get on reserves at least.

Another round?, hell yea!
How about trying something new and fun like Tokyo/Grand Valley in rev? These layouts are long (over 3mi), and fun 👍

Real life circuits only. No city courses. :)

Most probs be out of Spa, Nurb GP/F, Monza, Laguna, Fuji, Suzuka
