Final Fantasy X

You know, somthing just occured to me. You (you being those who feel/have said this way/thing) complain about having to "watch more then play" when it comes to FFX. But now that i think about it, what's so different about that? It's almost the same thing as previous FF's no? I mean, in older FF's u sit there, reading usually boring text, and clicking X/O for seemingly an eternity. lol
Personally, i would much rather put down the controller, gives my hands a needed break, and maybe have a snack or somfin to drink.

In the end, it's the same. You sit there, and u watch/read the story unfold. wheter you would rather click buttons the whole time, and make trivial decisions as to what u would say, or sit back, relax and enjoy the show, is up to you. But, either way, you're sitting there for the same thing, and more then likely about the same amount of time, as the other person. heh.

I have to agree with you on that, Angel. Its no fun having to read text for 5 minutes trying to understand the story. I'd much rather see a cgi unfolding the story(Unlike Metal Gear Solid 2 where the story unfolded mostly through Comms.)

In fact, I might go play FFX later because I restarted playing it a few days ago. Unfortunately, I accidently overwrote my 70+ hr save that I had beaten the game with.

Look it's just my opinion don't get so bloody worked up arsekia.

Here is another opinion.

I prefer to read the text, the voices were just annoying as the characters to me. Although I am a pretty fast reader, so I will usually set the text to scroll at the fastest possible speed and keep up with it. Although Xenogears is a pain because the text scrolls soooo slowly.

As for the new settings in FF games, I would say I really enjoyed FFVII's atmosphere, probably the most out of all the games. FFVIII was ok, but Squall was a tool but all the other characters were pretty good and It was a little harder than most so I enjoyed it. Even the high school with swords style kinda grew on me.

Oh my the way I can play old style RPG's while eating or drinking, but I suppose you are right about spending the same amount of time either way.

Well I think I'm going to look for a copy of skies of arcadia now.....

ok thats cool race idiot, before i just staed what i read in numerous magazines. also you are looking for skies of arcadia? for GC or DC. I have it for DC.

Dreamcast, just becasue I can pick one up for less than a PS2 game. Also the game should only cost me like £5 so it's a bargain, although I don't know why I sold my DC in the first place. Maybe because I had too many fighting games I dunno.

By the way FFIX was squares attempt at going back to the roots of FF games. Although all the classic FF games kick its arse Hard! ™

yeah, i thought it was good yet many liked the cyber theme of FF7 and FF8 more for some reason. ff4 however is a much better classic experience than ff9.

I'd give it a 9.4. The only thing I don't really like is that one has to play Blitzball and ain a certain number of times to get Wakka's special weapon.

Personally, I didn't like FF9 because I like the idea of GF/Aeons, etc. Apart from that FF9 I think was the best game that came out for PS1, of course follwed by FF8. I have also played FF7 didn't like it - still haven't figured out the why. Previous editions, I have not even seen.

my 70+ hr save that I had beaten the game with. [/B][/QUOTE]

amzaing...I have spent 80+ hrs on it and I feel I am about half way thru it. I commend you.

Well, Actually I spent nearly over 100 hours playing the game because I got to the fight with Seymour Mortibody (and the thing that Guards Zanarkand) and hit a "brick wall" because my characters weren't developed enough and I had missed things. It's such an awesome game still even though I have beaten it already.

Where was your fight with Seymour and Mortibody? One of the fights are extremely simple if you develop one of your characters enough that they have reflect.

I think it was before you get to Zanarkand leaving Mt. Gagazet. I know you fight him several times though and I think one of the fights occurs on Mt. Gagazet. I'm not sure though, because its been a while since I played through the game. Now that I think about it, I think it was actually the monster that guards Zanarkand. Again, I'm not 100% positive. I basically just restarted the game.

The easiest way to beat that Seymour is to fill up all of your aeon's overdrive gauges using the local fiends. When you save, all of your health and magic is restored. Go and use all of the aeons' overdrives and a couple of your characters does the job. I fought him about twice, and then I saw his HP, and that's when I figured out how to beat him. For the Seymour in Bevele (sp?), just cast reflect on everyone, and he kills himself.

1-10? i give it a 40.
i smoked pretty much the whole game after the Thunder Plains, because that's right after you get Ixion, and i trained everybody there for like a week. FFX is the absolute most addictive game i have ever played in my long, long history of video games. period (.). i just beat it today, and my throat still hurts from the yelling.
since i bought the thing in November, expecting it to be alright (i hadn't played FF since IV, the last one for GB, i think), i totalled over 57 hours not counting the many many times i got destroyed by Overdrive Sin and Braska's Final Aeon.
my friend and i were waiting to go to basketball practice (never actually went, either), and this guy is good luck: last summer, when i went and tried to beat Illusion of Gaia for SNES, i couldn't even beat the first boss until he came over - he didn't play or anything, he was just there. anyway, i got lucky and nuked his first form no problem. then, somehow, my Ifrit (after having used the OD's of 4 of my other Aeons, including Yojimbo) survived Jecht's OD and like 6 straight attacks, which gave me another 8,000 HP on him. Jecht had about 18,000 left when i ripped out my Bahamut and smashed him with a 32,000+ Overdrive.
...and you can't save the game after that! so i just kept on going, steadily laying a royal whooping upon all who opposed me (the Aeons). Wakka and Auron both did 9999 damage consistently, so their agility was the only real problem.
then Yu Yevon...what a :odd: boss. anyhow, i made him a Zombie, and he pretty much killed himself. then my friend kept driving my loud NSX R/C around my room, so i had to pause every 10 seconds to make him shut up...then my Dad called in the middle of the nice movie, in which you cannot pause.

what a game - and i play a good many RPGs, too.
whew...
