I have been looking for a simlar rally game to Rallisport Challenge 2 and it looks like its finally here. Sega Rally Revo! Dont say Dirt because I did not enjoy that game and this looks like it will blow Dirt away.. Dirt was a joke compared to RC2.

The track even deforms as you drive over it! 6 players online! Mud, mud puddles, water puddles, snow, dirt,

Here is a trailer with info and actual gameplay. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/22409.html

Thats a PS3 thread. This is the 360 thread.

So? They're the same game. IMO, the Gaming in General forum would be the best place for this sort of thing (a multiplatform game), but that's just going to spawn a half-dozen new threads about this game because of the way it is...

I just don't see the point in having multiple threads about the same game running around. Surely it's not that hard to discuss the game in the other thread?

Meh.

I dont even have a PS3 so I stay away from that thread since I really wouldnt be able to post any credible information over there. So with that said I am sure I am not the only person that does this. There are probably PS2 owners and PS3 owners on this site that dont look at the 360 forum. I posted in the other site by pure accident after doing a search. Once it was posted I looked up and it said PS3. I guess I can just delete it.

I don't own a ps3 but yet I still made that thread to provide information to others. Why does it really matter what system you are playing the same game on. If the discussion were kept to one thread you could even mention the performence difference between the two systems. 💡

I've often wonder why threads aren't just placed in Gaming in General.

Anyways it looks like a pretty cool game, I can't wait to give it a play.

Having two threads for one game is fine. The 360 may have some different features online features or downloadable content. If you have 360 players and PS3 players discussing things in the same thread it could messy, especially with news and updates for the game.

Those guys make it sound like they are ahead of the curve... "we even got the co-drivers sounds of giving directions", oh yeah that's a first. Soo... umm, where's the damage after all this IS a rally game. :dopey: :cough: Motorstorm :cough:

Still don't see how this is next gen... ?

A lot of new features are in the game, but one thing disappoints me more than anything else. It is the wheel size and it's relation to the car. Either the body of the car is too small, or something, because they look quite disproportionate.

I d/led some video thinking they were new but they weren't. I think it's the same as what C boy posted above. Anyway, is it me or do the cars in this video look a little Donk?

I think the proportions look alright. I try to watch rally racing on tv or on internet video sites and you always notice that the cars tend to have higher ride heights then what you normally see, with the exception being asphalt races. The extra ride height makes it seem to me like the wheels/tires are small when they're not.

Maybe you're noticing something I'm not, but I think that's likely what you're seeing.

The ride height has nothing to do with what I was referring to.

Example: Subaru Impreza Rally Car

Looks fine to me. Maybe this game just allows you to pick larger diameter wheels like Forza 2. Looks like those could be at least 17" or 18" on the Imreza in the first pic.
I honestly cant wait for this game. They released several more videos on gametrailers.com and this game is looking really good. I will be buying it for sure. 👍

It's like they're using larger wheels and lower profile tyre's in SEGA Rally REVO.

Hopefully I get a chance to check this out tonight. Even if the demo is bad I will be buying this game for sure. ALl the gameplay trailers looked excellent. :)

Let me know how the track deformation looks because that was one of its big selling points...

Would anyone happen to know when the PS3 demo is out, if at all?

Robin

A demo will be released on Xbox Live in mid-September and on Playstation Network around launch

From the Wikipedia page. It seems have got most things right so far. So the PS3 demo should be out in about a week.

Cool, thanks

So far Ive heard good things about the 360 demo so I cant wait to try it out...

Oh I forgot to reply in here!
I had a great time with the Sega Rally Revo demo last night. The track deformation is incredible and really changes the physics of the car when you drive over the grooves. If you go out of the grooves your lap times get a lot slower just like in real life. There is definetly no game out there that piles mud on the side of your car like this game does. Just wait until you see water on the track in the final version. It gets into the grooves, holes, and you can drive through huge water holes. 6 players online that you can actually see will make this game very fun just like Rallisport Challenge 2. Yes Sega Rally is an arcade racer but so was Dirt. I personally got bored of Dirt after a few days because of the trial multiplayer and the fact that you couldnt see anyone else.
I will definetly be buying 2 copies of Sega Rally Revo when it comes out. :)

Well, i couldn't be further away from you Camaroboy... I think Sega Rally is a complete pile of turd. Its a disgrace to the rally racing world and a disgrace as a videogame in general. Everything is made too easy; the car turning literraly by itself and so forth. Dirt was more arcade, but it was the equivalent of PGR3 to what Forza2 is to racing, while Sega Rally is Ridge Racer to what is racing, which again, is a complete pill of ****.

The graphics are "ok", and reminds me more of WaveRacer64 then a Next Gen racer. As for the deforming tracks; well its all fun, but that's dirt racing and not rally. Most rally races take place on "dirt" or "tarmak".

Sound wise, the cars sounds like GT3 (bad) and the music is mostly annoying if anything.

Overall, a videogame [demo] that lacks in content and finish. Clearly targeted for casual players and is there only to fill the gap at the far easy end of the spectrum of car racing on the console, right along ridge racer.

I feel dirty.
