Oh my... not sure what to say... Look how low the exp is on some of those bobs... is exp in real time or something?

Experience only goes up for every race. If a lvl 0 bob enters a lvl 20 race, they will gain more skills then a lvl 0 bob in a beginner race, but both will gain the same amount of experience.

Leungy
how do you get to lvl 40 with only 31 races or only 26 races?????

You do races of a much higher level than your Bob, in a car that will easily smash the competition, like Enurance races with a level 0 Bob in the FGT or X2010 can get him up to level 20 in one go on the shorter ones in my experience.

My last 4 bobs are all level 20 now with only 10 races under their belts. And my overall B-Spec level is only 27.

I have a level 33 Bob with only 3 races under his belt. 24 hours races will make your brand new bob a high level driver in only 1 race. He will be about Level 28 or so after 24 hour race if memory serves. Takes too long so what I do is an easy level 24 Daytona race to make him an instant level 9 then either the 9 hour or 4 hour enduro races depending on if Im going out or not. You can have a level 30+ bob in less than 1 day this way.

a solo bob doing a 24 h Nurburgring goes from 0-36.5 in one race and it takes 72 hours to make 0-40 bobs when you have unlocked N24.

Took long enough lol. Now to get started on some A-spec finally; wonder if its any good.

Stupid! I did the same level but only with one Bob, and mine has now 500 won races, that fills up he's career bar to the end. Now look at your bobs. Not even a single one with at least half of that. So what's the point of level them all to 40?? :sly: 👎

I placed one level 0 in the 9H Tsukuba race and she got to 29.

I had one level 0 together with two 30+ in the 24H LeMans and he ended up in 29 aswell.
I wonder how many levels one Bob get from doing it alone.

While there is little point in leveling up to 40 there is alot a value in having a high level Bob with a low exp bar. The reason being that once the career/experience bar is full its downhill for your driver, they start to loose skills and need to be put down eventually.
I currently have 6 drivers all similar level (30's) with 2 decent new Bobs with very little exp, and 4 decrepit old fat slow Bobs with much more exp.

I'm betting the OP's Bobs are his second set, since these Bobs haven't done enough racing to get from 0-40.

I gotta do it again and remember this time lol. Since then I unlocked the 24 hr of Lemans. Im currently running my level 30 Bob by himself there to see if he will hit 40. I doubt it as the xp needed for next level is ridiculous after level 35 or so.

whats the strategy for going from 35-40? my bob hit 35 this morning, but im not ready to just turn my ps3 over to 24 hour races for the next 10 days.

i was thinking 9h overnight, 4h ring in morning, at lunch grind a little aspec, send him back out for 4h ring, after work, grind a little more, then send him on 9 hour again...and so on...

how much more time will it take me to get to 40 vs the 10 24 hour races I have heard it takes to do to get to 40?

From 35-40 is 24,555,943XP.

24hr LeMans nets you 2,241,184, the 9hr Tsukuba earns you 661,144, the 4hr Nurburgring is 290,919, and just for kicks the 1000km Suzuka is 354,561 (run the X2010 on this one).

Using your idea you're looking at 1,904,126 per 4-race cycle (26 hours), adjusted to a 24/hr rate that's 1,757,655 XP (rounded to nearest 1) per day assuming non-stop b-spec grinding, which you aren't going to do. If you do, you're looking at 14 days, and going by the 4-race cycle would take 12.6 cycles to get to level 40.

For arguments sake if you were to scrub the 4h Ring and throw the X2010 onto Suzuka, you get 60k more, and the X1 can do it in roughly 4hr15min or so. That would make it 2,031,410 per 4-race cycle and would take 12 cycles to get to level 40.

Looking at it that way the difference is roughly one to two more days of *nonstop* grinding to get to 40 by avoiding the 24hr race.

started bob on 24 hour lemans last night in X1, might do some combo of races thru the weekend so i can still use my ps3, and then sunday night start the 24 hour grind again....

i need to find more time to get proficient at photoshop anyway....lol

I'm really glad its all over for me. The worst thing is the 24hr races and you can't use the PS3. I did a lot of the 9hr races just to avoid the 24hr ones.

thats why ive got 2 ps3's :)
im 1 4 hour race away from level 40 then its onto the last 24 hour race and bobs ya uncle.

I finally got to level 40 also. 35 to 40 was a painful experience. I tried to mix it up with a few 9 hour events thrown in so I could play some a-spec too. To make it worse the game froze on the GT load screen after exiting just when I hit 40. Luckily when I restarted I was still at 40 but weirdly my X2010 didn't need an oil change!

Now I am buying myself a different coloured X2010 per day :-)

Yes that stretch between 35 and 40 is brutal. The good thing is that Bob is experienced and can handle it without a problem.
Congrats on getting the job done.

I'm still not sure about the career bar.. What decides how fast his bar is full? Number of different races? Amount of XP earned? Does 1 endurance race fill this bar faster then 10 short races?

I have 6 bobs but for example 1 bob has done 40 races and is almost halfway his career, and another one has done 30 races but his bar is filled about 15%?

I do not think i will be trying to get to lv 40 any time soon as its such a long stretch .

I got to level 40 last night. Just need to do the Nurburgring 24H then I'm done with it. I'll start it after 6PM tonight.

What did you do to get to lv 40 and how many races?
I'm currently at level 39.5. What I've done so far is...

If I'm going to be gone for the entire day or there's things backed up on my TiVo to watch, I did the Sarthe 24 hour. If I thought I might want to play after the kids were in bed, depending on what time I started the race, I did either the Tsukuba 9 hour race or, if time was short, the 4 hour 'Ring race, just to keep them moving and getting at least some experience.

As for the how many, if I recall correctly, it takes 11 of the Sarthe 24 hour races to go from level 35 to level 40. Hence why I couldn't let the Bob Brigade take over my PS3 for two weeks straight and did some of the other races, too.
