FITT Ford Challenges by MCH

Was just going to post as above. Testing is complete, I just need confirmation from @brian wolf of ballast of 51@50 and confirmation from @xande1959 of his settings before I post results in case I have to run them again.

From a previous post

(also has +1 rims listed, as well as a custom transmission. I also can't get the numbers to add up. The weight of his car states 1206kg, but you get this with 35kg ballast, not 50kg with windows and hood added. Can you double check.)

As @chrisspeed281 said, it depends upon the engine parts that are installed. We should also add a row for torque. The tunes with lower hp will have more torque. In my experience with both GT5 and GT6, hp most often wins. If you add lots of engine tuning then use a lot of power limiting you can get very high torque numbers. I did not test that on this track, but if any track could have benefited from more torque it would be London.
Yes, badger66's tune really shows how installing a particular part can seem to put you at a disadvantage. He installed a mid turbo, but he weighs more and has less HP than most to end up at 450pp. Costs a lot of PP to slap on the mid/high turbo....is it worth it???:confused: The torque column would be a good addition. (Secretly rubbing hands together):lol:

Well 5 done in the focus group :odd: :lol: if remove the fastest and slowest times all tunes are with in .300 seconds of each other. with the other two it's a second.
For how simular the tunes are they all drive very differently from each other. some hold some don't, some rotate on a dime, others need a bill :lol:

Attention Mustang Tuners:

I will be testing this class and building a car for each tune, if you have Aero, Rims or change the paint, please be specific.
Especially with the paint so that I can properly represent your tune. If you do not tell me the color(and where to get it) then I will choose for you :mischievous: :sly:. You might not like the color I give your ride. :crazy:

Thank you!
Bowtie :cheers:

The 2005 GT40 is providing some interesting challenges. When choosing this car for the FITT challenge, I compared it with the 2006 version and chose the 2005 because it rotated better. The 2006 was too much like the Mustangs where we would have to tune out understeer. The 2005 felt more balanced...

But, I did not test them at Daytona. I picked the track later. At Daytona, there are a number of reducing radius corners that is really messing with the balance between rear aero and low speed, late corner oversteer. Plus add in a loose condition on corner entry and the 2005 GT40 is more challenging than I thought it would be. It's different in many ways than anything else that I have tuned in GT6, so slapping on my typical MR settings isn't going to work. Taming this car is more difficult than I originally thought. And that is making this one fun challenge.

Just confirming that you don't have a Front Aero kit?

I did when I tuned it, but I didn't put it on the tune sheet. I didn't think it added anything more than looks. (Keeping price down for testers) but as the rules go, tune won't change so test as the tune states please. Fingers crossed that it is only for pretty and not for performance.:banghead:
I think you might have a small hit on time, I have noticed durring my testing while you can't adjust the aero on the front spolier it dose provide about 20 points of force on the nose.

Results for Focus ST class.

All tunes tested for 10 laps with DS3 (d-pad, square brake, x throttle), auto trans with all aids off except ABS1 and driving line.

Some good cars here with not too much difference between them (0.7 between quickest and slowest). Kudos to those running in the 1's. Couldn't manage it myself, and i'm thoroughly London'd out.

Results in order of tuner post.

Does exactly what you want it to. Good turn in and rotation whilst being stable. The easiest car to get around the track for me. Bravo sir.

@Badger66
Time - 1:01:825
DC - 8.0
Nice stable tune. Good under braking with good turn in and rotation. A different method used than the other tunes with mid RPM turbo. Nice job.

@Bowtie-muscle
Time - 1:01:465
DC - 8.0
Another good tune on the '06. A little understeer present if you push too hard and early. Suffered a few meetings with the walls early on, but it'll polish out!

@brian wolf
Time - 1:01:647
DC - 7.0
Lots of wheelspin and understeer. Will do better with throttle control, which I don't posess.

@krenkme
Time - 1:01:547
DC - 7.5
Good tune that provides consistent lap times. Be careful on the power though so the understeer doesn't catch you out.

@Lionheart2113
Time - 1:01:273
DC - 8.5
Quick car. Stable under braking. Easy to throw around but traction issues out of the slower corners and understeer when off the power.

@NEWDRIVER2
Time - 1:01:481
DC - 8.0
Nice stable tune. Good through the corners with some understeer on exit.

@Otaliema
Time - 1:01:721
DC - 7.0
Had to brake a little earlier to get into the corner which hurt lap times a little. Not much room for error. If you can hit your lines consistently, it's a good car.

@xande1959
Time - 1:01:686
DC - 7.0
Took a few laps to adjust to this, although I can't quite put my finger on why. Good turn in and rotation with more understeer than the previous few.

@CyKosis1973
Time - 1:01:698
DC - 7.5
Solid tune with some understeer. FF cars do not want to do anything when the tyres are red!

@DolHaus
Time - 1:01:547
Dc - 7.0
Good turn in and rotation with some understeer. Some stability issues under braking at the end of the start finish straight.

@Motor City Hami
Time - 1:01:216
DC - 9.0
Good turn in and rotation, sometimes bordering on oversteer. Stable under braking and easier to get the power down. Still some issues with wheelspin and smoke.

@randyrockstiff
Time - 1:01:727
DC - 7.5
Issues with understeer and smoking. Throttle control is your friend with this one. Stable under braking and easy to get round the track but the mentioned issues cost lap time.

@shaunm80
Time - 1:01:960
DC - 8.0
Good turn in and easy to get round the track, but not quick in my hands. Deserved a quicker time. London fatigue maybe.

@sinof1337
Time - 1:01:736
DC - 7.5
Felt light and nimble with good turn in. 1st lap was the quickest. Some understeer on exit.

@ugabugaz
Time - 1:01:253
DC - 9.0
Good solid tune here. Good turn in with a hint of understeer if on the power too early. Tried to match your lines but no chance with the d-pad.

Im happy with the time you got out of my car.. Nice to know it was there abouts in terms of time.. You got a faster time than I managed all through testing so great effort :)

0.7 Splitting the whole field... :lol:

@biffa3 great review Sir, thank you. And you were only .100 behind my best in the car. :)
Now get some rest you testing animal, you deserve it. :cheers:

Luckily Hami got some replies to his question about already posted tunes being final before the deadline, which I took full advantage of and started a tad earlier. Setting up was easier too with the restrictions on parts. Allows use of the same car without coming all the way out to the main menu and back in again. Tested those without aero first and the rest were pretty straight forward. Looking forward to the next class, although, I hope Willow is a bit easier on the thumbs.

@Motor City Hami's Focus is also good for the new intermediate seasonal at Autumn Ring. Put some Sports soft boots on, remove power limiter and take off the weight, and you're away.
