FITT Race Car Tuner Challenge
Street cars get the most attention among the tuning garages on GT Planet, yet there are a large number of race car leagues within our own online forums. It is time for the great tuning garages here on GTP to trade in the fingerless driving gloves and the Piloti driving shoes for a full on fire resistant racing suit, racing helmet, fire proof shoes and gloves and heck even fire proof underwear if you have it in your closet.
For this challenge we will run two individual groups; 500PP and 625PP. Tuners are allowed to enter both PP levels. We will run only one round of testing and the scores will be weighted mostly to lap time (10 total available points) and drivers choice bonus (1 total available bonus point).
Tracks: I want to try something different with this tuner challenge. I have posted a poll for track selection. The two highest ranked tracks within a couple of days of starting will be used.

Scoring:
I will score this event on two elements; average lap time and average drivers choice bonus points. This scoring system is the same that we used in my FITT Rally vs. Street Cars and NEWDRIVER2s FITT 2000 Challenge.
Fastest lap calculations A maximum of 10 points can be earned from lap times. The tune with the fastest average lap time across all testers will earn 10 points. All other tunes will earn their score based upon how close their average lap time is to the fastest tune. For example, if the fastest tune earned the average lap time of 1:21.688 and the 2nd fastest tune equates to 1:21.832, the 2nd place tune receives 9.988 points (121.688 divided by 121.832 *10 = 9.988). Another example, if the fastest tune earned the average lap time of 1:21.688 and the slowest tune equates to 1:27.271, the slowest tune receives 9.56 points (121.688 divided by 127.271*10 = 9.56). This method of scoring rewards tunes for being very close to the front and will keep the lap time portion of the competition very close.
Drivers choice bonus: Each tester will score each tune on the scale listed below. Drivers choice scores will then be averaged across all testers. The maximum number of DC bonus points that can be earned is one point. These are race cars so lap times should account for most of the total score. Please choose one of these three ratings for each tune:
Outstanding With this tune I will be spending a considerable amount of time with my team in the winners circle (1 bonus point).
Driveable With my superior driving talents I should be able to win some/lose some with this tune (1/2 a bonus point).
Holy Crap If I were forced to race this car I would fear for my life. I could crash and burst into flames at any moment (no bonus).
Car Sharing:
All Tuners are responsible for placing their car on share as written up in their tune, or making arrangements with one of the F.I.T.T. car hosts to place it on share. Friend requests are the responsibility of the tuners.
Testers:
Volunteers - Anyone can volunteer as a test driver. For all volunteer test drivers (non-tuners), you will receive any car under one million credits, five paints and five museum cars.
Test Settings - Offline in A-Spec Free Run, TCS off, Skid Force Recovery off, ASM off, ABS 1, tire wear/fuel consumption off, grip reduction real, mechanical damage none.
Results - Test Drivers results should all be placed in one post here with notifications posted when that results are updated. All Test Drivers must submit the fastest lap time for each car/track combination and a Drivers Choice ranking for all cars in each group they test.
Prizes and Awards:
All volunteer testers to receive any car under one million credits, five paints and five museum cars.
1st Place Tune- Any car worth up to 1,000,000 credits
2nd Place Tune- Any car worth up to 750,000 credits
3rd Place Tune - Any car worth up to 500,000 credits

Test Drivers Results must be posted no later than Sunday, December 23, (Midnight, wherever you live).
Note: Extensions or exceptions to the above listed deadlines may be issued at the event sponsors discretion. However, it is up to the participants that they do everything possible to meet the listed deadlines as extensions or exceptions will only be granted under extenuating circumstances. Assigning deadlines at the end of a weekend seems very reasonable.
This is a Federation of International Tuners and Test-Drivers sanctioned event.
F.I.T.T. rules will be used for this event. Any event specific rules and all deadlines are listed above.
