Fitting an afro into a baseball helmet

I have a quite large afro and cannot fit it into a helmet or hat. I need a quick solution that's preferably NOT cornrows or a du-rag.
P.S. I'm not black

I had a huge 'fro back a short time ago, never really stopped me wearing helmets or hats. I'd suggest getting a hair tie and strapping it up at the back to leave a pony tail. Worked for me.

Haha guys this thread is pure gold, but I understand your pain mate. I have quite a large afro and I look ridiculous wearing hats and helmets. Anyway, thread of the year.

It is a baseball hat, so I look like in from the 70's:

Back to reality, the problem comes when I'm hitting or catching. When I'm hitting, the hair sticks up through the little air holes in the helmet. Not to mention in am a lineman in football and am 14 years old and 6'2 so the helmet doesn't fet to well to begin with. And when I'm catching, my hair gets pushed down into my face. It's actually a jewfro (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jewfro) but is shaped more like an afro. I don't wanna get it cut 'cause chicks dig it and I have random guys try to touch it but I end up pushing them out of the way (I'm not gay).

You are honestly the funniest person on GTP, and like I said it's more like and afro, grows more up and out the down. My best efforts are wetting it and then compression.

I have a strong feeling that chicks don't dig that. It's more like they find it as a joke. I would cut that thing off before you get to be known as "that guy" TBH. I thought coaches make football players shave their heads anyway. Well that's how they did it when I played at least. If you're dead set at keeping it for some reason, maybe a dew rag would work and you could shove the rest of the hair to the back. That would obviously mean you would need a little trim though.

Exactly, everybody loves it, EVERYBODY. And it's not negative or degrading attention, it's always good attention. It's definitely not "laughing and pretending to like it" attention.
