Fixing GT7’s Racing Economy

Hello!

I’m new to sim racing, and Gran Turismo 7 is my first real sim experience. Before starting, I bought a Thrustmaster T300 Ferrari Alcantara and a Playseat Challenge X Logitech G to fully immerse myself in the game. I always race from the cockpit view and use a manual transmission to enhance realism. So far, I’ve spent 250+ hours in GT7 and love the driving feel. However, after all this time, I see major problems with the game’s balance that make much of the content feel underutilized.

1. Only Three Tracks Are Worth Racing

GT7 has 90+ track variations, but only three are truly viable for earning in-game credits. For example, races with 600-800 PP limits can pay 820,000 credits, while most other events barely reward 150,000-200,000 credits. As a result, players grind the same tracks repeatedly, making many other circuits irrelevant.

2. No Incentive for High-Performance Races

Faster cars and longer endurance races should be more rewarding, but they’re not. Instead, it’s more efficient to do simple 600-700 PP races, where you can relax, sip a beer, and still earn 800k+ credits. Meanwhile, high-PP endurance races pay significantly less despite requiring more effort, focus, and skill.

3. Too Many Unused Cars

I own 30-40 cars under 500 PP, yet I barely use them. The game rarely encourages players to drive different vehicles, making a huge part of the car roster feel wasted.

4. Career Mode Feels Short & Incomplete

The single-player career is too short and fails to showcase the full diversity of car brands. When I completed it, I never even owned a Lexus, Mazda, Bugatti, or Lamborghini, among others. Why does such a potentially deep career mode feel so underdeveloped?

5. What’s the Point of 90 Tracks & 400+ Cars?

This leads to my biggest question for the developers:
What’s the point of having so many tracks and cars if there’s no real reward system to encourage using them?

GT7 has an incredible foundation, but the current economy and career progression limit player choice rather than enhance it. I hope future updates can bring better balance and incentives so players can fully enjoy everything this game has to offer.

Thanks for reading!
