Don't forget the paint chips too. And the funny thing is that fixing car sounds with sound samples already present in the game is simply a copy and paste job by pasting the sound file into another car's sound file. It shouldn't take very long.
Exactly, even easier with a tool like the save edit tools available for GT5!

Another car sound that can be fixed with the SRT8 challenger TC is the Sauber C9 !!
That's a good one too, but I think the Nissan92RCP or something like that would fit the bill perfectly!

Hmmm.. But have you herd the C9 from real life? I't a pure V8 sound! Just like the SRT8, search or it on youtube...

Hearing the C9 in GT is very depressing to me :/
And aven more wen you hear it in Forza 4 / 5, they naild it!

This is exactly what i did with the Garage editor in GT5.. I'd like to slap who ever at PD gives the final "OK" on sounds.. Like who heard the Jay Leno Toranado sound and said "Yup, that sounds like a twin turbo V8"..

How can we have hope for better sounds when they can't even put the right sound to the right car.. It's a joke really.

And to continue my rant abouth the Sauber C9 sound in Gran turismo, i will post this tree videos...

It's like the C9 inhaled Helium for GT6
In GT5 i once fixed the sound by swaping the c9 engine for the Panoz esperante's engine using the mod hack!

Good work with these. Does the Toyota GT-one still have the same horrendous engine sample? If I am correct it is the same as that used for the Sauber C9.

I think this is the general consensus at PD when it comes to what cars sound like with an "Upgraded exhaust" or what they sound like in general for that matter.

I have never had the pleasure of hearing that beast in person, but I have seen the Youtube videos. It definitely is another ground pounding V8 hammer but it does sound a lot cleaner than the SRT8, maybe the Nissan I mentioned is the wrong one, but one of those older Nissan Prototypes has a very nice sounding V8 sample(wrong for that car BTW) that would do a very nice job on the Sauber C9, same goes for the CLK GTR LM another big V8 ruined by PD's lack of detail and knowledge on the sound sampling department...

Unfortunately yes, they are still using a bad sample on that car...

I found the best sample for the C9 and the CLK GTR is the Mercedes Vision GT!!! just need to ad the racing tranny.

Really?? I definitely need to give that a shot!!

The Diablo GT needs to have the weird V10 sound removed from the higher RPMs.

I've done abit of editing with the sounds, and from the Low-Mid RPMs (Especially mid), it sounds like PD only drove the car in the low-mid RPM range, and added in their own weird sound from there. :indiff:

What they need to do is raise the pitch by 2-3 times, and stretch the Middle RPM sound into the higher RPMs. (Without it sounding weird) (I don't know what the Diablo GT2 sounds like IRL, but they can use this method for that car, because it sounds like 🤬)
OR
They can simply stretch the Mid-RPM sound into the higher RPMs without raising the pitch, and use this method for the Diablo GT.

Like at 0:58-1:00, it sounds like a Diablo. After that, the weird V10 sound comes in and ruins it. :banghead:
I've come to the conclusion that:
Approaching during Low-Mid RPMs = sounds closer to Diablo (Replay cam)
In-car raised pitch x1-2.5 = Sounds closer to Diablo at Low-Mid RPMs (In car)

I did something similar like this thread, when the HSV was released in GT5

For our luck, PD did change the HSV s samples

Ohh my, it is so bad.

You can't, unless you have a way to alter your save data you won't be able to change the sound samples. This thread was made just in hopes of PD miraculously looking in and fixing the sound the easy way...

Hmmm, interesting fix... Really don't recall the sound, but guessing is another deep V8 sound that'smisplaced and should go with the big V8 cars?(no clue what engine or type is on the Chaparral)

Chevy SBCs like the one in the C5 R

Chaparral used Chevy for each car

Nice thread, keep the input coming. Although PD record sounds correctly, it's the play back that suffers. I have no idea what they are thinking but many cars sound fine until you open up the throttle and then it goes all to hell. Some cars are near perfect yet others are a whole can of wtf?!? Problem I notice is PD sound engineer is tone deaf, what is with all the screaming high pitched V8 engines? It's like every V8 sounds like it revs up to 10k RPM it's horrible and shouldn't the GT sound more like the V8 in the GT500? Also PD's sound engineer loves to play up those annoying tire sounds, they are so loud is ridiculous even when you are using roof view...you not hear squealing tires over the roar of a GT3 V8 engine period! SLS AMG GT3 has a wonderful engine note if you drive in roof car, inside the car it's magically muted as if the car has sound dampening...:indiff: really PD back off on the tire noise it's important but not so important that it has to drown out engine and exhaust notes.

BMW GT2 sounds HORRIBLE, did it choke on a wallaby it sucked up on Mt. Panorama? PD reduce the stranglehold you have on engine and exhaust notes, and while you're at it, turn down that atrocious transmission whine, it's no where near that loud. I need separate control over sounds in the game. Can anyone tell me why the CTS-V sounds exactly like the corvette, I was like no way the CTS-V engine note is much lower and angrier than that.

Keep up with the suggestions, PD you guys need to look HERE!
