first off i know alot of people have negative things to say about him etc etc but i met him briefly and i must say hes damn cool in person...and he was with this gorgeous model!...what do you guys think about him?...his management style?

fresh. briatore's pretty cool. i respect him a lot....come on, he's pretty damn successful. Is the model you are talking about Heidi Klum?

I still don't understand why he fired Trulli last year, Trulli won in Monaco and then just had some bad luck, just like Fisi is at the moment.

Flav is typical of fashion world elites. Many of the elite fashion world managers and such learned alot from Flavio...he really set the standards high. I've never met Flav but I have met (and currently work with) people who are very close to him via his benetton connections. I've heard lots of stories and they all make me laugh.

As for F1. Like him or hate him you can't deny he knows how to pick and develop (in the PR/mental sense) young drivers. Schumi, Alonso, Trulli.....among others.

I've met people that worked with him at Benetton, and they said that they preferred it when he left them alone. He has a very confrontational management style - always trying to set people fighting each other.

He fired Trulli because Trulli wanted out of his Driver Management contract. Flav then offered him a paltry salary to stay at Renault, and Trulli told him to **** off.

He has a child with Heidi Klum, although he does not acknowledge it. Needless to say, they're not together any more.

My feeling is that is a very good businessman. He proved to be very good at finding rising stars of F1 (Michael, Alonso).

On the other side, I don't really like his way of managing. He puts himself in a monopole situation in renault, where he is the team manager and the drivers agent. How can he be objective and fair in this situation ?
We clearly saw him firing Trulli just because Jarno didn't want to extend his contract with him.
I also hated the way he fired him, finding ridiculous excuses like the French GP. Jarno lost 2pts there (beeing overtaken by Rubens in the last corner). What about Alonso who lost 5 or 6 points in Monza when he went off track, trying to resist to Button ? What about Alonso losing 8 pts in Monaco, crashing himself as he just could not follow Trulli ? Nothing, and that's not Fair.

If you looks at Renault's drivers policy over the last years, you can see that Flavio just did the things that would bring him the much money. He fired Fisichella who was better than Button in 2001 and engaged Trulli, then Fired Button who had beaten Jarno in 2002, in order to engage Alonso, then fired Trulli who was faster than Alonso in 2004.......what about next year ?

When everything's fine, FB is surely very cool and nice with everybody, but when things start to be hard, he seems to be a different person. The kind of person that flames you, then realize that there is a camera, so show off his great smile, puts you in his arms like a good old friend. Some kind of hypocrit in my opinion.

I find Flabbieo quite funny, seeing how his personallity changes from race to race.
Havent seen it much this year but definately last year with all the problems with Truli
