I thought it stood for Brake Horsepower.

In nearly all cases, it does, and it is the measurement of power produced by a reciprocating engine, as measured by a "brake," often a set of rollers at a dynamometer. It is equal to torque multiplied by revolutions divided by 5,252

BHP = T(rpm/5252)

It is also the amount of power (work) required to move 1,000 pounds (avoirdupois) 33 feet (and all multiple variations between such as 1/33,000 or 10,000/3.3, etc).

That said, let's put down some REAL horsepower and beat down these challenges!! TONIGHT, WE DINE IN HELL!!! And my reservations are for 8:15, so wear a jacket.

Can we make it 7:30, Bill Murray has an awards ceremony to attend at 8:30 unfortunately.

Option A, I want to win, then group B (RS200, Delta S4, or the 205 Turbo Evo 2)) is prob the way to go.

Just a reminder that the top three cars are not being used by the current roster, so if anyone still wants in, there's your incentive. ;)

Yeah but they are not easy to drive, I used the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2 in the 500HP top gear race car comp, so I do have some experience with it. But it did win that, so that kinda reinforces the fact that they are damn fast.

I said it in there and I'll say it here, for those Group B cars, Very little weight + High centre of gravity + short wheelbase + oodles of power = tough to keep pointed in the right direction.

Personally I'm thinking of using either the Subaru Impreza Rally Car '99 or the Nissan 240RS Rally Car '85, a bit of testing over the weekend should allow me to make up my mind.

EDIT: Just read Flynn's PM, lol maybe I'll be forced not to choose.

EDIT no2: Looks like I'm my own team.

Team name: Shotamagee's Rally Racing Team,

Car1: Subaru Impreza Rally Car '99
Driver: Shotamagee1
4WD, 319hp, 364.47 torque, 3.852 P/W, 1230kgs

Car2: Nissan Silvia 240RS Rally Car '85
Driver: Shotamagee2
FR, 252hp, 189.79 torque, 3.842 P/W, 970kgs

So do we start racing now?

PS what driving standards do you expect? ie (no wall touches at all, or only slight is permissible (that's an important distinction at Grand Canyon & Chamonix)). And because Le Sarthe is one of the tracks you need to decide whether the light red sections form part of the track as well. As per our first circuit at Swiss Alps are the green areas considered off the track, or is anything between the walls ok? I'm going to assume its two wheels on or inline with the circuit at all times as well.

Slight wall-touching permissible. Light red sections are fine. Regarding Swiss Alps, anything between the walls is okay. Otherwise, your assumption is correct.

Welcome to Hell, fools.

*clears throat*

Time to get down and dirty with the best of 'em. Twelve tracks over the course of twelve weeks with your fate partially decided by a partner. 'Tis gonna be rough. Do you have what it takes to deal with dirt, snow, AND tarmac? Let's meet the teams.

First up is Team Twin Engines, composed of Flynn (founder of the series) and Igni (Flynn's mentor). Word has it that Flynn holds the unofficial world record on Swiss Alps with the Escudo. Even if he does well with the 205, will he be able to do the same on the tarmac courses later on in the series? Igni may have to carry him through those.

Second up is the Epic Team of Holy Justiceness, composed of AudiPro and Korza. It should be noted that Korza recently took the title of Fastest Super Saloon with Flynn eating his dust. Will this series be a rematch?

Next is the Justice Team of Holy Epicness, composed of...George Clooney and Bill Murray. Yeah, that's right. Go look 'em up on Wikipedia if you haven't heard of 'em.

Following them is the Lancia FLS Team, composed of Jet Badger and fabmaru driving the Integrale. Does that thing still make that hideous sound?

And last, but not least, is Shotamagee's Rally Racing Team, composed of Shotamagee and his twin (virtually indistinguishable from one another). It'll be interesting to see how the twin does with an underpowered FR drivetrain.

The five teams have seven days from the time of this post to contact the series founder with their times. Each team should be submitting two times per track, one time per driver. Flynn himself will be in charge of averaging them together and posting the results.

Flynn reserves the right to to start Week Two's track, Laguna Seca, early IF all teams have submitted their times prior to the deadline. Stragglers who wish to join the series have twenty-four hours from the time of this post to request entry with their declared partner, team name, and vehicles of choice. No exceptions will be made.

In the event that a teammate is unable to participate one week, the remaining player's time will be increased by 25% as a penalty. In the event that BOTH are unable to participate, their time will be declared the same as that of the slowest team with an increase of 50% as a penalty.

All times will be sent to me via private message rather than posted publicly.

Remember, best lap for each, practice mode.

Let the games begin! Gogogo!!! :D

This just in - Top secret information on Flynn's 205 has just been leaked! Turns out he has two different setups for his car, one for dirt/snow, and the other for tarmac. Ran an 11.245 on the 400m and a 20.929 on the 1000m with his dirt/snow setup. However, his tarmac setup had the edge with the top speed test running 181.46mph...

This is not going well for me if that makes you feel good. I'm stuck in a time that is not what I was thinking.

Dont see why you guys think those Peugeots are so good. Theyre power makes them way too fast for rally racing

I was going to install a Flux Capacitor but I would be in violation of the rules.... Plus, my Evo's don't need them. They will win any way!!

Is it to late to join up. My family buisness has calmed down some. I really would like to do this. If Shotamagee will have me, could I join his team?

Before joining Shot, consider Fabmaru in the off chance that Jet Badger doesn't make an appearance. Regardless, I'd be happy to have you participate. :)

He usually pops up around the weekend. I would hate to horn in on his and Fabmaru's team. If I can't get a ride, maybe I can wave the flag around.
