Hoppers return from FM3. However, custom public lobbies return from FM2 as well. We get to choose from either one.

Yes you can't tune in a lobby but the lobby system from FM2 is back.

Good, then this game will have better online than 3.

One of the great things about Forza is that is has an economy. It's not just racing where you make money. You can sells tunes, livery designs, individual vinyls and the rivals mode means your going to be able to make money competing against your friends. Plenty of scope for making money in FM.

While I have no problem with players charging for their creations (they made them, so why not profit), I personally hate doing so. My entire storefront in F3 was free and I would buy expensive cars for the purpose of selling them at auction for 1000 cr (since that was the lowest I could get them). If I charged any more, I'd just feel like I was ripping people off.

For me racing games are for racing. I don't want to spend my time in Auction House or Storefront. I don't want to make designs or vinyls. If you like to do that, I'm not saying you are a bad person. I'm just saying that's not what I bought the game to do. The various rivals modes do sound interesting.

On another note, I'm glad they still have adjustable AI difficulty in Event List. I prefer racing against humans and consider AI more of a nuisance than a competitor. Getting pushed around by a computer is not my idea of a good time. I will give World Tour a try but I will probably be in Event List or a rivals mode pretty quick.

I'm glad they have slicks now. Fighting for traction got old.

Making R1 race cars adjustable so they can all be at the top of their class is an obvious thing to do.

Is there a new class? I noticed that Dan said something about being able to prevent upgrading an R1 too much to push it into X.

These new levels were tuned to allow the car to get to the top of its stock class in combination with other upgrades such as tire width. In effect, this means that a car like the BMW V12 LMR is able to get to the top of R1 without going into X.

Boy, I am losing it :( I never knew you could bump up R1 to X all these years.

What rock you been under. Lol.

I new that class was there. Never bothered with it though.

No leaderboards for that class to my knowledge. Might be wrong it's been awhile.

Must have been rare. Me and my team never bothered with it obviously. Maybe some of them knew it, but never really even talked about it. Not sure. There was NO X races in career, that is for sure.

Yeah there were only a few R1 cars that you could do the restrictor plate mod and they would get bumped up to X class but like Spagetti said there are no races or leaderboards for it.

Wheelstands? Check.
Better photomode? Check.
Better customization? Check.
No more steering buffer? Check.

The one thing that isn't really worth getting excited about is when Dan exclaims if you roll the car you'll pretty be out of luck as you'll no longer be able to flip it back upright. That's largely inconsequential considering if you rolled the car 2, 3, 4 times you were pretty much 🤬 anyway because of (severe) engine damage. I guess that was just done to shut some people up.
Thats ONLY if you have SIMULATION racing mode on. With simulation racing off, you can still roll the cars back over if they flip. 👍

Not true, you could shut down the MESSAGE telling you to rewind, not the feature itself. That one was there regardless of the adjustment mentioned.
Ummm then dont hit the rewind button. 💡
I dont even want to get into that again because its just like the pause button or restart button in all racing games, if you dont want to use it, dont. Period.

So does this but a end to what people say about GT and killing a car in the game? ie. car makers don't want to see their car not moving in every game except Forza? Does this mean you will have to restart the race or quit? Would this be a first for a game with real cars?

Im pretty sure you can remove all spoilers off all cars, except for the cars with active aero and those whose manufacturers who asked not to be removed.

^I'm thinking for active aero we'll be able to disable it, since there's not actually a spoiler to be removed.

you can kill a car and render it immobile in Forza 3 already, just need a nice hit on where the engine is.

It's pretty difficult to get up a hill such as el camino.

Yeah if the car is damaged enough its a pain to get it to the pits. If there are hills hang it up.

While we're on things that make finishing next to impossible, have they said anything about fuel? I'm assuming it'll be like FM3 where the engine completely cuts, but I'm wondering if anythings been confirmed. And as far as fuel consumption it'd be nice if driving style had an effect.

And while on that, I have run out of fuel in FM3 on the final lap of an endurance race, crossed the line at 1mph on momentum alone. And another time I cut off the AI while rolling at 20mph and used the push to reach the pits.

I once won a race on E. Just crossed the line when the fuel was gone or close to gone. I know my little tank symbol went red. Don't know if I had an extra few laps in it or not. Probably could have coasted home though if it occurred on that last straight.

Then this will probably still be the case with 4 then right? Car makers wouldn't want to see their rides immobilized.

If it is the manufacturers choice I would expect them to want to car to just die.

There's a lot more dignity in just coming to a stop than there is trying to limp up a 1% grade hill and failing.

This "car makers don't want their cars damaged" nonsense
has been invented by the GT fans a long time ago without any basis.
Now it's just "car makers don't want their cars damaged too much".
I'm sure damage isn't even mentioned in licensing agreements.

There was a document or article specifically stating that Ford did not want any damage to the interior of their cars or any compromise to the cabin area. Everything else is just speculation. With FM2 in particular they had a model running where they had engine blocks flying out panels coming off etc. that they claim were able to be used in-game but due to contracts it wasn't going to happen.

I didn't go inside the car, but I thought they were unhappy with passenger cell deformation. I can't recall another FM3 car with such damage.
