Physics: It took me a second to adjust, but once I got the handle of it the game was fairly simple to control. I was way more aggressive going into turns than I should have been able to do, but as I said, my friend put it on easy mode.

In easy mode, autobrake is on by default. So it's impossible to screw up a turn. I brakes it for you, and it does it well ahead of time, even before you touch the brake.

Then my friend must really suck, because he had to rewind out of a gravel trap multiple times.

For the record: I never used rewind and even won a race on Suzuka East after spinning and winding up in 7th with 1 1/2 laps to go.

I'll throw my thoughts on rewind out here too: I do not need it, but people used to Project Gotham Racing or Burnout or who have never played a sim racer will use it a huge number of times, and it prevents them from quitting out of frustration.

It has a purpose, but that isn't one I will ever have a need for.

Okay, so I've got about 8% completion. And I just finished the 29-lap Suzuka endurance race...

I'm in love. This game is amazing. I think Forza 3 is really Gran Turismo 5, and "Gran Turismo 5" is actually Gran Turismo 6.

Nope, no brand of nitrous or nitrous injection itself has been in Forza at all, GT4 had it though.

Sorry, my mistake. For some reason I thought it was in FM2.

Been too long since I played it I guess.

With no qualifying, it would come in handy to get to the front and take less damage in the process when running "hard" AI and comparable car class.

i just bought this game 2 days ago and its a decent game, i'm trying to like it and i see some improvements over Forza 2 but it just got old fast...it doesn't grab hold of my attention like GT does and the Car models just doesn't stack up to GT's.

I'll give the game a 8.5/10. I'm just playing the career at this time. This game is far better than Forza 2 imo. I also use the MS wheel for now (waiting on a Fanatec). I found some info that you can create an adapter for the G25 pedals so I'm now using those instead of the crappy MS pedals. Makes all the difference in the world.

I think the game comes off as very well done and polished. As someone else here said this will take care of the time between now and GT5.

Really liking this one. Was kind of bored clearing the first column of races, but after getting a better car (which is much easier than in GT because of how easy it is to make money) and starting season play, I got really into it. Not sure what my completion is, but I think I've beaten about a couple dozen series, and I haven't even scratched the surface of the career mode.

I finally maxed out the difficulty and have been using Rewind a lot. Really became a slave to the racing line. I think the rewind tool may be the new B-Spec - I'll curse its existence as it cheapens the game, but abuse it nonetheless.

Just got up to Level 30 and the joy has come.

A Veyron, and a tuned Viper ACR with 666 lb-ft of torque.

Oh the joy!

Likewise, I'm beginning to find the "rewind" an invaluable companion, despite my former distaste for such a degrading feature.

I've been able to resist using rewind. But damn, it's hard! There have been so many times where using rewind would've been able to correct stupid mistakes that cost me 1st place.

The only time I used it in an actual race was to satisfy the curiosity of some spectating drunks who wanted to point out a shortcut they thought I could take. So I rewound it and showed them what happens what you do... you're slowed to 30 mph. :P

Rewind is awesome, no more starting races over because of a tangle up with an opponent on the last lap.

You sir, are going straight to hell! ;)

Indeed.

Haha, nah... I don't think any of the assists are bad. It's a game, after all. The only assist that I think disqualifies someone from playing it as a sim would be autobraking. But it's just an option, and i'm in favor of options... even if they're ones I'd never use.

My reason for choosing not to use rewind is because I'm not a great driver. I'm decent, but I make plenty of mistakes. And I feel if I start using rewind, I won't have as much motivation to learn to stop making those mistakes since I'd be able to quickly patch up any errors I do make.

Still addicted to this. Even though I like the physics and graphics better, it won't beat out GT4 for me simply because the career mode isn't as fun. You can get a pretty fast car in the first hour or so. I miss struggling to earn credits. Also, I really miss all the unique GT circuits. Especially Midfield and Seattle.

Overall I would rate it a 9.5/10 though. Far better than the first two.

You can get the Cadillac Cien in GT4 in just about the same time. :P

Curious to know opinions of how FM3 compares (graphics, sound & physics) with Shift ...

Shift bored me to no end, I put about 10 hours into it and then called it good. Forza on the other hand is entertaining and makes me want to keep coming back for more.

I can't compare graphics as I had Shift for the PS3, but with sound Forza is better in my opinion. Cars were way to loud in Shift and it seemed like everything had an exhaust cut off just past the headers. Forza's car actually sound like their real life counterparts. I was fairly impressed with it.

I like the phyiscs more in Forza too as they don't give the car unrealistic tenancies like bouncing all over the place or spinning out when you think about a corner. The only complaint I have about Forza's physics is that AWD cars seem too gripy, but other then that it feels like the car is supposed to.

I've got a 2 lap race today at Mugello on FM3- I've never ever before played the game. I felt that my car (Porsche 911 GT2) was too grippy also.

My god...this grip talk....I wish people would send some grip my way. I have problems getting good grip in most of my cars, with the exception of my Jetta.

Make them AWD and you'll have grip, if you have FWD or RWD then car behave pretty much like they are supposed to.
