Why do these things even exist.
I mean, they're boring as hell and fantasy tracks at the same time.

I don't know guys. The group I race with had one of the most furious passionate races on that track. First time I ever saw the guys act like they do on TV. Iberian can bring something out of you for sure. lol

It is now known as the "Iberian Incident" or the "Iberian Nightmare" lol.

You will find it nowhere on any official record. Only by word of mouth for those brave enough to speak on it. But since I have my Avatar on Lo Jack I can share the only known video in existence of it.

Anyone else notice they mentioned crowds when talking about sounds? Seems like the absence of crowds so far in the pictures might just be because they haven't been added to the track at the time of the pic being created.

> First up, we’re making it easier than ever to earn credits in Forza 4

I thought it's impossible to make it any easier than it is in Forza 3.

> Players will be able to purchase car tokens via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, either individually (80 MS Points, $1), in six-token packs (400 MS Points, $5) or in 13-token packs (800 MS Points, $10).

Paid liveries and Facebook integration are on their ways.

What is it with people complaining about optional things?

You don't have to get the seasonal pass if you don't want to, you can just buy the DLC packs individually, the seasonal pass is mainly targeted at people that are already planning on buying DLC.

The Car Token thing isn't new, the same basic set up was in Shift 2, didn't see anyone complaining there. It's not like you have to use real money to buy every cars, it's an option for someone that might want a Ferrari GTO but doesn't want to save 20,000,000 to do so.

I could understand why people would be mad if you had to get the seasonal pass for any DLC and use Car Tokens for certain cars, but currently that isn't the case.

> the same basic set up was in Shift 2, didn't see anyone complaining there

We fear that Forza might become another Shi(f)t.

Seasonal pass is OK. Announcing day one paid DLC package BEFORE game release is indeed questionable.

1) Who's "We"?

2) I don't see anything wrong with Shift, unless you don't like a good racing atmosphere and a great track selection. Really the only thing that ruined the game was wonky physics.

3) Don't evade the swear filter.

Seasonal pass is OK. Announcing day one paid DLC package BEFORE game release is indeed questionable.

Welcome to the DLC era, where the game doesn't even have to be out for DLC to be out.

I agree with Justin, Shift was/is still a great game. So again, were is the "we" you are talking about?

DLC is already planned for just about every game made in the past 3 years...at least. There has already been lots of talk about it in another thread. The good part about it, you dont have to get it if you dont want it.

Sooo...can we move on past the whole evil DLC thing?

I like how the exhaust question was coupled with a picture of the Tesla roadster.

All Premium cars, all the cars will sound loud an exciting, wont sacrafice framerate for weather, DLC packs from day 1,...sounds like someone has been doing research on the good stuff missing from another game, doesnt it? :sly:

I don't know why everyone is so worked up about the crowds. I'm pretty sure that those photos are either just to show off the work they did with the tracks and IBL or they just haven't added them in yet. I'm about 100 percent certain crowds will be there where appropriate.

Anyone notice the Indy road course layout is not the same one as GT5? The last brutal chicane is gone. No more double U-turns.

I mean, they're boring as hell and fantasy tracks at the same time.

There are bunch of us that love those tracks. They exist because many of us love racing on them.

And that Camino Extreme Circuit is a pure nonsense.

To you maybe. Many of us really enjoy it. Camino is actually my favorite fantasy track in a race game so far. Followed close by Maple Valley.

What is it with people complaining about optional things?

This seems to be more common lately, and I am not sure why. People complain about things for the purpose of trying to find a reason to make a dig at the game. Otherwise, they are mad because they don't have the funds to buy optional things. Or, they just have some OCD about things being there that they don't have to use, but don't have the will power to not use them.

We fear that Forza might become another Shi(f)t.

Who is this WE you are talking about?

First up, we’re making it easier than ever to earn credits in Forza 4. I thought it's impossible to make it any easier than it is in Forza 3.

Cool. But that isn't the case for everyone.

Players will be able to purchase car tokens via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, either individually (80 MS Points, $1), in six-token packs (400 MS Points, $5) or in 13-token packs (800 MS Points, $10).

Paid liveries and Facebook integration are on their ways.

Yup. Optional things are a good thing.

I thought it's impossible to make it any easier than it is in Forza 3.

The only way it is easy is when your glitching or cheating. FM3 probably had the MOST difficult credit earning process. Easy credit earning is GT5.

I have over 50% completion in FM3 (which is still a ton of races i might add) and I still don't have those couple crazy expensive cars and don't have the credits for them either and never had that amount of credits at one any given point.

Things in under the hood 4 that excite me even more:

"In the past the audio samples were replaced when you applied upgrades to the car, but this time we are using real-time, in-game digital signal processing (DSP) effects to change the sound of the car when it is upgraded (apart from the turbo system, which also swaps the dump valve/waste gate samples based on turbo upgrades)."

"Recreating a circuit from the real world (such as the Top Gear Test Track) or creating one from scratch (as in the case of our “crown jewel” track, the Bernese Alps) takes more than a year from start to finish. From travelling to the track to gather source material (a typical track sourcing takes three full days, weather cooperating, and multiple track artists on hand to gather data), to the detailed process of translating the data from a sourcing trip into the game, as well as the long months of polishing that we put into every track to make sure it meets our internal standards, there’s so much work to do. Building tracks in Forza Motorsport is a time-consuming labor of love for us…"

"Several months ago, the community team put a call out to Forza community members to submit new shapes which would be used in the livery editor in Forza Motorsport 4. The response to the program was tremendous—we received dozens of shapes from the community—each of which was specifically designed to fill a need. In the end, we chose 80 community-created shapes to be included in the livery editor. In fact, those two pages of shapes are the first things you’ll see in the livery editor in Forza 4."

"As for the first question, the lock-to-lock steering rate was increased by approximately 40 percent."

"We’ve improved braking in two important ways:

We made a number of adjustments to our ABS system. For example, when driving with ABS disabled the braking input curve was altered to allow a larger “sweet spot” just before lockup. We also adjusted how smaller braking inputs are handled to improve light braking techniques such as trail-braking and tip-in, whether or not you are using ABS. Finally we made adjustments to the ABS system to tighten up the lock threshold while still allowing drivers to use the brakes to set up a car for a turn.
We improved the code that simulates both brake balance and braking pressure to allow more consistent lockup points both on a car-to-car basis and for both front and rear bias situations. You can still tune brake bias via the upgrade system in Forza 4, but the code behind it is now more accurate at calculating bias across the wide range of cars we have in the game."

And all the work they did to prevent cheating as well.

Another stellar under the hood my friends.

Still no correct hand animations....argh!@#!@. Is Shift2 the only game that did it right?

I am still not a fan of the super glue off track penalty system. An engine cut, or drive through penalty, or even the time addition all sound better.

Still everything else is looking top notch. I am excited about the sounds the most in this edition.

Same reason you get tracks like High Speed Ring in GT5, for example? Because, dunno, some people despite yourself like it?

And that Camino Extreme Circuit is a pure nonsense.
It looks good and is decently challenging to drive - what more could you ask of a fantasy track? Plus, it has a decent feel and flow to it, better than some other tracks, in my opinion. Not my favourite fantasy track (which would be Fujimi Kaido), but not bad, either.

You obviously didn't notice the epic Q_Q'ing because not everybody could afford a 250TR/GTO with ease, eh?

Don't like it, don't buy. Like in real life, you know. If you don't wanna pay the price for a car, leave it be. Not that hard. Unless you've got that sort of mindset that everybody is entitled to have the same stuff for whatever reason.

> the same basic set up was in Shift 2, didn't see anyone complaining there

If it worked well in Shift 2, what's the problem? Shift 2 had its flaws, but bad DLC wasn't one of them. The Legends Car Pack or whatever it was called was, in fact, some of the best DLC I've seen to date.

Also, are you, by chance, legion? Do you not forget and forgive? Do we need to expect you? :sly: Just kidding, of course, I guess some folks might get that one.

The DLC we'll be getting for free with the LCE? Well, I love that. That's specifically why T10's LCEs are worth it to me - as opposed to that of most other games, even Blizzard (which is my favourife developer, by the way).

Another stellar under the hood my friends.
Seconded. T10's communication is something I like quite a lot.

I am still not a fan of the super glue off track penalty system. An engine cut, or drive through penalty, or even the time addition all sound better.
Would've loved a drive-through penalty, and if you don't obey, you're disqualified, or something... Maybe to hard to implement with rewind in plaace, though.

Not sure about DSP thing, im pretty sure thats how GT gets to its absurd sounding exhaust upgrades by applying some sort of processing over the original audio. Hopefully im wrong.

No, audio in GT5 is just bad all around, period. Other games have done changing sounds with upgrades and done them well.

So I guess sound changes with exhaust upgrade is confirmed? though he didn't specifically said it.
I sure hope so.

WHAT???? I LOVE Ladera and Iberian. Very colorful very fun tracks.

I am very happy about the audio updates and they also picked 80 vinyl shapes from the community.

I'm really stoked for these 2 new bits of info. 2 full new pages of new shapes from folks who spent a lot of time painting? Yes please!
That audio bit really has me drooling though. I wonder how ballsy the racing vettes will sound though. I have yet to play a game that mimics the sheer amount of testosterone that racing vettes scream out doing 150+mph on a straight. I experienced it for the first time at Le Mans and all I have to say is wow. Hope the LFE is punch is there

I have been asking forever for T10 to allow upgraded exhaust tones with the exhaust. Not just when you swap engines. Swapping engines was the ONLY way to change the way the engine sounded. Thats why most of my Ford vehicles have the V8 Cammer engine. That thing sounds so sick!!

So now it will be interresting to see which mufflers we get to pick from. Flowmaster? Borla? Im getting excited! Cant wait to get a room full of 16 muscle cars all with nice loud exhaust!! Going to be so awesome!! :)
