I may pick up this year's version, I've not played in a while and got a hankering for it, mostly because of our good start to the season...

I have it for the Vita. I tried with Portsmouth, started off well, then my Vita got stolen. On my replacement Vita, I signed the same players, the same formation and was bottom and got sacked, I then went to Port Vale and much much better. I then restarted as Barcelona ans currently replicating the Guardiola glory times!

FM12 - Wrexham, 2030 (Multiple EPL, CL, LC, FA winner)
FM 14 - Netherlands, 2024 (Wrexham in the Prem, 2x Eredivisie (Groningen), 2x Dutch Cup)

Sometimes I'll skip an FM year like I did with 13, but I quite want FM15. My FM14 dynasty hasn't been as enjoyable as the FM12 one, so FM15 will be another challenge.

I really want to avoid taking Wrexham up in successive seasons like I do each time to begin with, but I can't help but want them to be up there. Not sure which team to start out with this time.

Football Manager 2015 will be released on November 7th...in case you haven't heard....

In case you guys don't know the next instalment has got a release date which is 13th of November.

Been thinking about picking FM up... maybe this year around. I liked playing FIFA career mode but I always wanted something more in-depth.

Just a quick mention the FM 2016 is out in just over two weeks and the Beta is now live, I bought mine from Amazon last week for £29.99 and they sent me the Steam code straight away...

Would you have any advice on how to properly learn the game? I've no idea what team to go with that will make it fun.

So anyone still playing??

Yep, this year I've played it way too much.

The full back rubbish (too good attacking because they all defend poorly) is really bugging me now though, even with me setting up my team to try to cover against this, the AI still exploits them against itself meaning the player of the season is a RB more often than not. Clearly something is very wrong, Bellerin has won countless awards for instance. Even in the lower leagues the player of the season is some random right back with about 25 assists to his name.

I've got a few saves on the go, a Wrexham one in which we are in the play off position in the league 1 in the fifth season, have done loads of Man United saves including some former legends returning as wonderkids (Giggs, Beckham, Charlton Scholes etc) and I have recently just started a Steam save.

Clocked up over 500 hours on FM16, my most ever, been on it a lot this week as I have had some time of work.

One of things that could only happen in FM.

I had unfinished business with Fiorentina. I started a save in FMH managing them, but they sacked me after 16 league games, during which I'd only been beaten twice. To be fair, I'd only won one game, and had 13 draws. I figured something was up with that, so had another go.

After winning the league, I went off to Dortmund. Won the league (and Champions league) there, then the Fiorentina manager got sacked, so I re-applied. They took me back and we went on to greater success. Won everything in 2023/24 and nice to see the other team I built in the CL final with me!

Football Manager 2017 just been announced, out on November 4th with a two week beta in the run up to the release, available for pre-purchase in the Steam store and there is a reward system in place for anyone who has bought the previous editions up to FM13, you get an extra 5% off for every edition you bought and played up to then so you could get 20% off FM17 👍

No other news or screenshots or anything like that yet, will obviously be more news in the coming weeks...

I was quite happily managing my way through a game noted above, when I noticed Parma* appearing in Serie C and in need of a manager. I had to take it and return them to former glories. It took 3 years in Serie C, then straight through Serie B, and back to Serie A.

* In FMM16, Parma start in Serie D which is not a manageable league.

Just over half way through the season in Serie A.

And take that Fiorentina.

Only 1 goal, but I completely dominated my previous team.

Football Manager 2017 beta is now live and ready to install, installing mine now, my night sorted! 👍

The maddest game I've ever had.

IMG_20161020_094949.jpg

Central defender gets injured after 4 minutes, so I bring on 17 year old, Martin 'Stevie's boy' Gerrard for only his 5th game.

I take the lead and then have 3 disallowed goals and get a man sent off for complaining.

My forward then gets injured so I bring on Linssen, who scores 10 mins later to give me a 2-0 lead.

United pull one back, and then Stevie's boy gets himself sent off. They score again to bring it level and take us into extra time.

Super sub Linssen scores again to give my 9 men an improbable 3-2 victory, and I needed to go and lie down to recover.

At the end of the game, my cobbled together formation had 3 centre backs, a right back, 2 central midfielders, a left sided inside forward, and a striker.

I have to say, having bought FM16 myself, this was a huge problem. It has broken the game and rendered it unplayable. I'm not sure if I'll even buy FM17 (I kind of do for the Brexit randomiser alone) but this must be fixed.

Classic video game hypocrisy: sure, it's great when your fullbacks are 8.9 every game but it's so frustrating when it happens against you and the opposition makes your defence look like a colander trying to retain water.

Including Beta, i've currently got 88 FM17 hours. (Including Beta) On my current save, I started as manager of Hungerford Town (English National League South) where I got a solid mid table finish and started off the next season with high expectations. Couldn't fulfill my expectations so left and a few months passed where I went to York City where it didn't work out at all before joining Portadown in Northern Ireland where they were initially destined for relegation being bottom of the league by about 6 points. Kept them up and won the NIFL Cup (First on FM ever) and left them because Northern Ireland wasn't exactly a league I enjoyed and joined Stockport County in the National League North where I started off poorly (1 draw in 3 games) then went on a run of 7 games unbeaten before losing 2 in a row to Blyth Spartans (Top) and another team before beating Macclesfield in the FA Cup 4th Q round.

EDIT: Tried to go back onto it and the game couldn't be loaded. AAAAHHHH

Managing United (obviously!), first season top of the league at the start of Feb with Spurs five pints back, Zlatan top scorer with 18, only lost one game so far, got through Europa group, into FA Cup fifth round, got League Cup finial v Spurs to come, Rooney wants to leave, its going well, enjoying it...

Bump.

After a 20+ year hiatus from Championship Manager’93 I decided the time was right to dust off my managers cap and jump in again; with Touch. FM Full seems a bit too intense for me.

Before I launch into a comedy/tragedy regarding my first foray with Pompey, a temperature check on other gamers? J

My latest save in FMM17 is with Ajax.

Screenshot_20170419-091012.png

I'm doing the usual Ajax thing of bringing through youngsters and selling them for loads of money. So 5 years in, I had 100 million in the bank and a wage limit of 2 million a week, but was only using about 600,000 of that. What to do with all that extra money?

Screenshot_20170419-091114.png

So I spent 67 million on Mbappe.

The next year, money was still burning a hole in my pocket, so 72 million quid later...

He's 34, but I don't care, he's Messi.
