Woof. Perez and Russell knocked out of Q2, but both McLarens are into Q3!

Looks like Russell accidently moved across the front of Hamilton as well.

Bizarre incident between Hamilton and Russell
Yeah not quite sure what Hamilton was hoping to achieve there. Absolutely no space to go down there with a Ferrari on the right.

There was space, but Russell turned back into him
At the start of both doing hotlaps there isn't space, the gap was always going to close with the Ferrari on the right. Lack of awareness from Hamilton and poor communication from Mercedes to it's drivers.

MSZ
lol Sainz and Norris are going to slow everyone else down tomorrow and Max will have the easiest win of his career.
Sainz is the only driver that's even remotely close to being a threat tomorrow. All other usual threats are way too far to the back

The way I see it, Russell moved to the right, creating a gap wide enough for Hamilton. Hamilton assumed he did that to let him by. In fact Russell didn't even know he was there (fault of bad communication by the team), and turned back into Lewis.
In the end, it will likely be judged as Russells fault.

You remove Max from the group and there's nothing between the rest of the field. That was an interesting Qualy. Shocking from Leclerc, Russell and Perez....speaking of which, if he keeps up that form, that driver championship will be wrapped up before the summer break!

Yes, but whenever he answers those questions his response is halfhearted. I don't know if it's because the order in the team is set or if he knows that it would be a steep hill to climb.

It's a bit ironic that Gasly got a three place grid drop for impeding Verstappen and Sainz - who qualified P1 and P2, respectively.

Edit: Two three place penalties, so 6 altogether!
