Saying you cant focus is not the worst thing you could say.

There was that one comment by a driver that went on to say others are faster than me.
That was probably the second half of a conversation about the seatbelts. The context he gave at the end of that sentence was saying that the lack of focus is because of something going wrong and being a distraction he can't ignore. Seatbelts coming loose at Suzuka is a legitimate concern and distraction.

Wonder if the FIA will come down to investigate what is happening with the car.

Lawson makes it out of Q1 - just. The Saubers out along with Ocon, Stroll and Doohan - Jack’s still unlikely to make it to the European races.

Yet, Luki who has only had limited driving time in the RBR is in top10.
Wonder if RBR is regretting doubting Yuki so much

Yuki is really proving himself here... I hope Red Bull feel dumb as hell for not having faith in him.

Have you heard about Helmut Marko‘s claim that Adrian Newey supposedly prevented a move from Tsunoda to RB in the past - which turned out to be completely false? They need to replace the guy ASAP. I wonder what else he lied about.

Anyone else having issues with the F1TV app using a Chromecast?

I can watch on my phone just fine, but if I cast to my Chromecast it says coverage has concluded on qualifying. It did work for the qualifying pre show though...

Edit: and now it's giving errors on my phone for the live stream... Basically I have no way to watch now 😔
After a bit of fiddling with logging out and back in, force-closing the app and reopening it, and still getting a bunch of errors, it randomly started working again 🤷‍♂️

I would say it was the Helmut that did not want him to come over.
He may be an "Advisor" but he seems to have more of a say than other Advisors in other teams do, maybe because Max likes him and RBR wants to keep max happy by giving in to the Helmuts words

I completely agree. But it‘s very cowardly to publicly shift the blame onto Newey.

Tsunoda? 15th. Lawson? 14th.

Hadjar is clearly the best of them - into Q3.

Oops, eating my words now . I still get the impression that Yuki's handling things better than Lawson, will be quite interesting to see what happens between these two in the race.

Still just an incredibly awkward look for Red Bull. BOTH of the junior cars outqualified Yuki.

Lawsons qualy record at Red Bull was 18, 20, 20. So Yuki already has him beat there, even if this wasn't a great session.

I don't think so. Far from it, in my personal opinion. He was right behind Max in Q1 and actually made it into Q2 with the RB as a result, and then everything fell apart for some reason.

Very interesting end to qualifying. You can never discount Max. That was one heck of a good lap! I honestly didn't see that coming considering how much better the McLarens looked.

Was it me or was Lewis not using the same line at the end of the lap that most of the other drivers were using? Everyone ahead of him put their car very close to the barrier which seems to be the shortest distance to the line but he keeps going toward the middle of track. I wonder if that's where the biggest difference is between him and P4?

Hopefully the race will be good!
