You guys already know my thoughts on this j anerk cheating from my previous post, but I hadn't actually watched his lap replay until this afternoon. My god, the guy can barely drive the car. It's pathetic. I find it extremely frustrating that something hasn't been done about this yet. In the description for the Seasonal Event it mentions that you aren't allowed to "tune" the car, so make sure you set it up perfectly to achieve a good time. So, the fact that this a-hole is hitting 295MPH is proof that he is cheating. We all know that a stock Formula GT can not reach 295MPH. Why then has his time entry not been deleted yet? What are they waiting for? More people to load up their PS3's and start Gran Turismo, go to the Seasonal Event, see a cheater in 1st place and get so pissed off that they just shut down their system.
From what I've read on
and elsewhere, these hackers/modders/cheaters were a huge problem on GT5. Now, I wasn't around before GT6 so I didn't experience it. But, I can imagine that it was extremely off-putting to those who are capable of competing for overall #1 time. In this case there is only 1 moron so we can easily discount him and say whoever is in #2 position is really the overall Event leader. But what happens once 10, 20 or 100 people start doing this crap? I know what's going to happen. Good, honest people are going to stop playing.
Like I mentioned in my previous post. I'm currently sitting somewhere around 2100th place, I think, so it really doesn't impact my overall sense of accomplishment much. Even if there were 100 jerks doing this stuff. But when you're someone who usually finishes in the 20th - 50th spot and you have ambitions to crack the Top 20, stuff like this isn't just discouraging it is downright demoralizing.
You can't tell me that someone who has access to the leaderboard data and the authority to do such things like remove entries hasn't been made aware of the current situation. Of course such people have. The fact that they haven't done anything yet is extremely troublesome. If they were reacting quickly and removing these invalid times immediately it would discourage others from doing the same thing. But, now that we're seeing nobody is doing anything about these dishonest entries, all it's going to do is entice other dishonest morons to learn how to do it as well so they can "win" the next Seasonal Event.
Whoever is responsible for maintaining these Seasonal Event databases really needs to get their butts in gear. Otherwise we will be seeing a snowball effect and I don't want that to happen, as I'm sure none of you do either.
