FGT is tricky. Stock-tune is really tail-happy when going fast... Shaun's tune works way better even though I still need loads of driving assists to tame it. Never thought a car with that much downforce could be this hard to drive... Anyway golded the event after 4-5 attempts with his setup. Had enough of this, not trying this stuff again xD

1:39.3xx after 3 laps in my already-tuned FGT for 2000th place.

Going to put in some more time later. I can see myself hitting the 1:37s.

Thanks to your tune at the gt academy video by @Tidgney, I'm at position 1548 at the moment, which is my best ever. It also took me least than 20 min to get it:odd:
No worries, sounds like you finally learned the ways of this tune. A great time you achieved to put you that high up. :)

The gold is so easy that on my very first lap, which I was basically pacing as an outlap/recon lap of sorts, I beat it by half a second or so.

Right now I sit at a 1:36.586 (TC 0 ABS 0), putting me just above the top 1,000 bubble. I'd like to beat the 2014 pole of 1:35.766 . Beating the most recent pole is my first goal, and beating the outright lap record (from 2010-now) of 1:30.874 (set in the wet amazingly) (EDIT: Actually it was in the dry, and it was 1:29.615; 1:30:874 was fastest race lap) is my ultimate goal! If I manage to cut away those crucial few seconds, I'd be a happy man! I'd also be pretty low in the rankings, seeing as the top time is only a few seconds below the outright record.

Funny how this car has a lower weight, more downforce and power than the modern cars, yet you still have to drive the tires off of it just to come near the lap record.

Also, if anyone needs a reference for getting a good time, just watch and follow the racing lines of the pole sitters:

Big key is to really use the WHOLE track, riding the kerbs at every opportunity. Some corners, like the turn 4 hairpin going in to Arena (or is it called Arena straight?) need to be taken wide so as to set up for the next corners. Another big time maker is putting the left wheel right on to the kerb as you enter the Maggots-Becketts curves. The last and tightest curve is the toughest as it's far too easy to run wide right off the track. So don't get too enthusiastic before you really can hammer it down the Hangar straight that follows after. Gear it to hit at least 212-215mph, if not a couple mph higher.

I wish I could be this good at the Brands Hatch Senna trial....at least I can get a 1:07. I just need to chip away the few tenths I'm off of the gold to one day finally get it!

Can someone explain me why did PD launch this seasonal if it´s the exact same one as the september one, same PP, etc.?

Last time I got my best result using a modified Konnichiwa setup. But I was all over the place with it on my first try.

TCS was 7 which was left-over from my best performance last time.

Still had the @SW__10 setup in there so switched to that. Also boosted the newb-proofing with TCS: 8.

That did the trick. Very scruffy at the end of Hangar Straight but good enough for Gold. (Braked too hard on the entry and locked the outside front. Basically had to release brake then gentle trail-brake to the outside white line.)

Try to use the minimum steering angle to get around the corner. If you can see the wheels steering with the DS3, you are pushing the joystick too far over. (Even in the tight hairpins, the steering angle should look subtle.)

Don't think I used 100% brake anywhere, apart from by mistake at end of Hangar Straight.

Forgot the Formula GT's were even in the game

I didnt take part in the previous running of this event so I was quite suprised about how quickly I managed to get gold, had a quick go with all settings at default yesterday and managed a 1m39.8.
A couple more laps today with full downforce and did 1m36.9

Hammertime!!!

What the hell, wheres the 'delete post' option in Firefox?

Regardless of browser, there isn't one. There is an Edit button, though.
Erm . . . Ok. An option to 'delete post' would have allowed me to save you/the site mods a little extra effort.
Cheers :-)

Just wanted to say thanks for guys putting up their tunes for this seasonal. I just was trying to do it bone stock and it was pretty pathetic. Put in Praiano's tune and within two laps I pop a 1:38.856 with little to no effort. Good grief! When I think of all the seasonals I've done without really tuning the cars at all I'm just flat out pissed I didn't look into tunes before. Being an adult with a family I usually just don't have the time to dedicate to really play like I'd like, but this tune most definitely helped make things 1000X more enjoyable.

I might even now go searching for a tune for the SRT Tomahawk X VGT for Nurburg......getting better thank bronze might actually be possible....who knows.

Thanks again.

Andretti

You won't be able to tune the loaner car for that event. Once you have one in your garage, you will be able to try various settings. 👍

After many run-offs, spin-offs and all kinds of offs I was eventually able achieve my goal of besting the time I set at this TT last year with a sub 1:32 lap. I used @SW__10's tune this time, which is a real handful, but very fast. I almost lost it in a couple of places, but luckily managed to keep it on the track.

Kind of incredible you managed a 1:32.7 when you had multiple loss of traction events, mostly in turns where if I did the same thing, I wouldn't set a PR lap!:gtpflag:

Looking forward to trying to keep up with your time, maybe even beating it! ;)

I know I have a minimum of another 6 tenths, if not a full second and change...which would still be over a second behind you. But maybe I'll have a breakthrough and pull something amazing off!

It took a lot of patience and perseverance, but if I could do it so can you. A lot of times when you think you've gone as fast as you can, you try again the next day and you go even faster. There's usually one or two corners where you can push just a bit more.

Only made silver so far... using my own tune, barely changed from stock. I've only had a couple of laps with that.

Today I tried Priano's tune and found it far too spinny when accelerating out of corners. It's not for me, but I only managed a few laps before I got disconnected... so I gave up with GT for the day.

Will try again this evening and will also try Shauns tune... his are usually more to my driving style.

Priano's LSD is wayyyy too open in my opinion. The suspension is pretty great, but I had to jack up the initial and acceleration settings to something like 16 and 28 respectively (so basically double what he had). I'm sure it works better with a wheel, seeing as you'd have a lot more finesse with the throttle.

Also I've been finding I can gain a tenth or two if I go wide setting up for the final corner. When I go wide and ride the kerbs on the opposite side right before, I end up going in to the corner much straighter, so I can minimize wheelspin and hammer it down to the finishline. If I take it shallow, then I get oversteer issues and loose time.
