So far we have 4 tracks
Hockenheim, Top Gear, Maple Valley, And Alps
but watching videos we also have indy, ibrian, monsserat, and Landera

looking once again at the gamescon 2011 vid i see what maybe is Sebring, Sunset Speedway, Road atlanta and silverstone

Hopefully Silverstone is back, with the updated layout too.

As long as Catalunya, Suzuka, Mugello and Le Mans Bugatti also make a return then I'm happy. :)

Edit - Suzuka is confirmed, I think?

Like the leaked video showed, there's just gonna be five new tracks probably. Alps, Top Gear, Hockenheim, Infineon and Indianapolis.

The rest of the tracks will just end up being all the courses from FM3 in all likelyhood. It wouldn't make any sense for them to suddenly remove tracks from the series.

Don't forget Nurburgring GP although it's still based on the pre-2008 track (same as the one in Forza 3).

You would have thought so, but they removed loads from FM1-> FM2, like New York long, Tokyo, Alpine Ring, Blue Mountain, Pacific Shipyard and the Test Track Oval. That last one was great for top speed tests.

Some of those were great tracks, especially the night tracks and Alpine Ring.

That's an exception to the rule because FM1 > FM2 was a leap onto a new console. Likewise I suspect that FM5 or FM6 on the next Xbox console will likely have similar changes to the tracklisting in the game. You see similar shakeups with the Gran Turismo series when PD develop a game for a new console.

Oh and I agree. Blue Mountain Raceway (Bathurst lol), Alpine Ring and Rio De Janeiro were great courses that are sadly missed.

I wouldn't expect anything from FM3 to be missing in FM4 though (except Porsche anyways..) since it just wouldn't make any sense at all.

Aw has Twin ring Motegi been dropped.
Loved that circuit, not so much the variants as the full track.

*TBA* are point to point I presume.

Edit is BADNED's list final?

That's right guys, FM4 will have an even smaller tracklist than FM3

Your not another one who takes pleasure from missing features are you.

Or are you being sarcastic. Can't tell by your typing.

Edit. Not Le Sarthe too.

I was being sarcastic :sly:

That and I'm just completely dumbfounded as to why anybody would think the tracks from FM3 would not be in FM4.

Well, there have been lots of irrationel decisions when it comes to the latest racing games. Not by T10, but still.

Well we know for a fact FM4 will be on multiple discs (as confirmed by the achievement list) and the leaked video stated that FM4 would have 5 new locations (which we have since learned are Top Gear, Alps, Indianapolis, Infineon and Hockenhiemring). On top of this we know that FM4 will only have about 50 or so more cars than FM3 did (I think? I forget how many FM3 shipped with before DLC).

So unless they've maxed out that second disc with something we don't know about (second disc on FM3 only used about 1/4 capacity if I recall correctly) that's more important than the tracks in the game, then I think we'll be fine 👍

I can't say I'd mourn the loss of Silverstone, Sebring and New York though... :sly:

Actually, I'm with you, Tapey. I wouldn't get why they'd drop tracks from FM3 - most of them looked good and if anything, a bit of a makeover would probably sort most remaining issues out.

All I'm saying is, ever since GT5, people seem to be worried about things like standard cars, the game dropping announced features right before launch, premium/standard cars and so on. I really can't blame anyone for having 'irrational fears' about stuff like that.

There are no tracks on Disc 2. There will be two environments available for DLC on Day 1. Every new copy of FM4 will include a code to download these environments for free: Top Gear Soccer field and Benchmark Test track.

We chose not to update a small number of our tracks and ribbons to use our new engine. As a result, there have been two environments cut from Forza—New York and Sidewinder were not updated to work in the new engine. The long version of Amalfi Coast was also removed, though the short version remains with some small gameplay modifications. In addition we have also removed the Bugatti version of Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe, though players will still be able to race both the full circuit and the Old Mulsanne circuit. In addition to tracks like the brand new fictional Alps track which we showed at E3, we have also added Hockenheim as well as new tracks yet to be announced. from forza website
