Well, I was debating buying DLC or not, I guess I wont now. I felt like I wasted money on DLC in FM3 because I bought them late & then the announced the FM4 release date that week :grumpy:

Check this out guys. Apparently T10 is already working on Forza 5!! And in even bigger news it's for the NEXT GEN XBOX.!!!

"Earlier this month, Xbox World claimed to have heard that "a number of Microsoft-friendly developers are hard at work on prepping next gen games as we speak". These were said to include Microsoft-owned Rare, Lionhead and Turn 10, as well as Alan Wake developer Remedy."

Anyone knowing how game development works know Turn10 actually began to work on FM5 about two to three month before FM4's release. Right now, they are monitoring closely pretty much everything in FM4 to assess how they will prioritize resources for FM5. They pretty much know by now if it's gonna be a 360 or a 720 title, and the basic resources are allocated (new cars, new tracks, improvements on graphics and physics, new features, etc). What they still may not have decided is if they should prioritize things like weather/night, or go on improving the graphics even more, or go for off topic stuff like rally/karting, etc.

But Turn10 already working on the sequel shouldn't come as surprising. At all.

That's not news. That's common sense. This is like declaring the fact that the sun will rise tomorrow is news. Turn 10 makes Forza so it makes sense for them to continue working on new Forza games, and since the Xbox 360 is already six years old and a new Xbox is basically guaranteed to be out within the next two years it then stands to reason that the next Forza would be for the next Xbox. I'm sure Microsoft would love having a new Forza early into the system's life cycle and I don't know how much more Turn 10 could realistically do with the present Xbox anyway.

ZR1Chris....apparently there is no room for you to get excited or learn something new anymore. You are just wasting your time, you should know everything already.

Man, I'm off to NeoGAF for some level headed civil debate.:D

Just kidding of course but at least Forza 4 has shown that it's possible to improve driving feel between iterations of the series without sacrificing overall quality. Above everything else, I hope this trend continues so that GT6 will have an even stronger competitor on the next-gen consoles.

I`m sure there`s lots you don`t understand, but lets stay on topic, thanks.

The condescending attitudes the two of you seem so adamant on displaying, especially the "tough guy" routine ends here or you'll quickly find yourself on the receiving end of an infraction.

Play nice or don't play at all.

I hope they slap some huge amount of RAM and VRAM on the next Xbox. If they improve the AI, a grid of 32 cars would be epic :dopey: Aside from that, the game severly needs anti aliasing. That, a bit of work towards the shaders and lighting and using the photomode models at full LOD would make FM5 look pretty stunning, I think.

Physics wise, even a small improvement seems like it's a lot to ask, right about now, but we'll see how that pans out.

I noticed. It's ok. I'll just ignore it for now. My excitement is here to stay. People that don't like it will just have to deal with it.

To be honest I think 32 is too many. I think 24 would be perfect. I'm still waiting to see what a full room of 16 is like. The most I can seem to get at one time in our club races is 12 and that can get pretty sketchy at the start of some races.

16 really isn't too bad. It might get a little hectic but for the most part you really won't notice it.

A rolling start and a decent amount of laps should take care of most of this, though. I think so, at least... I mean, somehow, it works IRL too, right? :D

The next Xbox better have AT LEAT 1gb of RAM, if not 2gb.

Dunno... RAM is pretty cheap, these days, and both the PS3 and Xbox360 ran into these issues. The next generation of consoles will probably be around until ~2020, so I think they should really keep things as future proof as possible. Most modern computers have 3+GB of RAM already, and I guess that'd be a good idea for future consoles, too...

Either that, or they should make it upgradable, with something like the Nintendo 64's expansion pack.

Now if we only had the option for that.... Jube??? Please look into this. 2 wide rolling starts just like Nascar. Just as an option.

30+ cars would be great on track, but I imagine it would be tough to tune 30+ AI cars to run against each other and not play extreme bumper cars.

HBK
:scared:

Next gen consoles will most likely have 4GB RAM.
I think so, too. Well, I wouldn't be suprised, at the very least. My 2008 "gaming" laptop came with 6GB of RAM already, so I really don't see why MS sould only go with one or two GB of RAM.

Same with VRAM, really. Can't see them going with less than one GB on that, either.

360's common memory architecture will likely be used again in Xbox 720. Lots of flexibility and very few downsides.

I can't imagine more than 12-16 cars on the track. No matter what race it is, the huge cluster of cars crashing in turn one (or even at the start line) is never ending. Happened yesterday too. Doubling those cars only doubles the pile up. I could see that working better if that was a rolling start.

I also suppose that all previous Forza games started development as soon as the last title was out of the door, so there's really nothing ddifferent inbetween FM3 and FM4 in that regard.

This is very common for video games when a developer decides it's going to do a sequel. So I don't have much doubt that Forza 5 is already in development, while there is a small team left for DLC cars and patches for Forza 4.

I would guess so too.
I read an article some while ago about Crytek requesting at least 8gb of ram for the next generation.

I do hope they meet Crytek's demands. I am hoping for at least 4GB of ram but preferably 8GB.

If Forza5 is indeed being developed for the next gen Xbox maybe they can finally add night and weather effects. I want Night and Weather more then an increased number of cars on the track at once. Nighttime at the Nurburgring was the most fun I ever had with GT5.

Turn 10 will probably just do Horizons this year. I wouldn't count out 5 JUST yet. It could still very much be there.
...BUT!
With Microsoft saying that the new Xbox won't be at E3, however, I wouldn't get too excited for anything FM5 related.

Yeah, we really need Horizon info, cause in all likelihood it'll leave me saying, "shut up and take my money" :D
