- Turn off ghosts in rival mode
- Rear view interior visibility (I know it was to improve the current cockpit view and keep certain FPS)
- Cut the 3, 2, 1 crap at the start of every single frikking event, or at least be able to turn it off.
- Choise for LHD or RHD cars? Its basically flipping interior view right?
- When chosing metric system, give us HP or BHP, not frikking KW's. Or at least let us choose.
- Less US spec'd Euro/Asian cars (frikkin amber indicators and stuff...especially the Golf Gti's look **** with the current bumpers/lights/exhausts.)
- Choise to not automatically pick a friend as rival. Sometimes you just want to improve your time bit by bit (for money) but its a pain to keep swapping rival.
- Searching possibility and quicker browse possibilities in rivals leaderboard.
- Download photography to USB!

Big things for me:
-Wheel widths separate of tire widths
-Able to paint lips and centers of wheels separate
-Additionally, able to paint any wheel
-Be able to paint chrome/plastic body parts
-Have actual paint names like Gran Turismo
-More body kits and wheels
-Reinstate engine swaps between manufacturers under the same core group

As far as the complaint about US spec vs. Euro/Asian spec styling, it would be cool if they offered both/all versions as the extra body parts (make them US spec by default if it's easier for T10). What would also be cool IMO is to offer the export lighting for US vehicles.

Maybe I was not clear with my words. What I'd really want to see is AI that can be adjusted to be slow or fast or something between. And when you put the ai speed to its maximum it would be really really fast and not something that is super easy to defeat.

Now the biggest challenge comes from coming from the back of the pack to the front and winning. I'd like to see the ai to be fast enough so I could start from pole and still have to driev really well to get first on the s/f line.

So I was not saying AI needs to be super hard but just that when you pick the toughest ai speed level it would actually be tough to win it.
I hear what you're saying but you're still not getting what I'm saying.
See the highlighted part, tough to win for who? In order to get the perfect AI they would have to make hardest setting impossible to win against regardless who you are and then users scale back from there. What's "tough" to win for you might be a walk in the park for the next guy.

Improve ai and make it faster. Make it so fast that you actually need to be good to be able to beat them in equal cars.

I have to ask if you a refering to career mode (where the game selects the AI strength for you) or any other mode, where you can change the AI strength (like event-mode or online racing)?

Because I have the feeling that the game dont face me with the toughest competition (= professional) in career mode.

Not sure about the post you quoted but even professional A.I is woefully slow for me.

I am several seconds a lap faster even on mid length tracks.

-Wet courses
-More tracks! I'd wish for every GP track out there
-Kart racing
-Longer races... perhaps 8-10 laps for most courses, 2 laps around the ring
-Better sound... NFS Shift(first one) has better sounds than FM4 imo
-Allow me to paint my rims White

From big annoyances to pet peeves... Not necessarily in that order.

-1- The ability to "De-chrome" or "De-trim" all cars. Names, badges, bumpers, everything. If I want to make a monochrome 66 Chevy, I should be able to. Also PLEASE allow me to put a decal on a bumper, chrome or not. There's a spot for a license plate, I'd like to use it. There's a huge area of trim I can't place anything on some cars. I hate that. I really, really hate that.

The only thing I hate more is not being able to remove trim like on the Galaxy wagon or on any number of cars. They make it impossible to do a shaved custom or make an accurate racing replica. Why go through the trouble of making a car just to RUIN IT by limiting what you can do with it...? Truly a terrible decision on T10's part, and makes the value of having a number of cars go from "Oh Yeah" to "Forget It".

-2- Control of wheel offset and or depth. The Cragar SS and Halibrand wheels look horrid, yet other wheels are offset as they should be and look fine. I would REALLY like to be able to De Chrome and Paint any part or all of the rim also.

-3- WHITE RIMS. I cannot understand this one at all. This is an obvious no brainer "duh" to me. If I choose non metallic white for a wheel color, then it should be non metallic white. That's not rocket science, that's just ignoring the painfully obvious to make another DLC pak. This is the kind of blatant, unfixed error in judgement that makes me turn a game off and not go back. Obvious things are just that, and not fixing blatantly obvious things tells me you don't give a rat's fecal matter producing area about me as a customer.

That is unacceptable to me. You want my $$$..? FIX THE BLATANTLY OBVIOUS so your lack of concern for my gaming experience is not staring me in the face everytime I turn your game on. Please...

-4- Optional adjustable wings, spoilers and front valances. Simple wrap around front ends with grills, small or tall spoiler or big or small wings. Seeing every race car with the same wing or spoiler simply "spoils" the cars. Add to that the previously mentioned diffusers also to create actual race cars with actual race car like performance and looks, not just "look a like" a race cars that are really just cars with big black things on them.

And it would be AWESOME if we could paint and or decal them too...

-5- Tracks. Please. As in "more of..."

A true Track Maker would be even better. Make me a TYCO train track like layout generator and allow me to place pieces and grandstands and the pit lane etc. Place a total limit on the number of items you can use and count each grandstand, track piece, chicane, pit, tree, gravel trap or what have you as one item. Give me a 60 or 100 item limit and let me make a track in a variety of settings.

You can sell the Track Maker as DLC.
You can sell track sections as DLC.
You can sell locations and backgrounds as DLC.
You can sell grandstands, track elements and all that as DLC.

You can make the same money as selling tracks as DLC without having to pay the royalties to the locations to use them.

AND you can still go to places like Spa or what have you and make them up and sell them as DLC too. Trust me, we'll buy them all.

-6- Matte and Semi Gloss, Chrome, Color Chrome and Metallic Decal materials.

-7- PLEASE make the cars symmetrical, and make the front the front on BOTH sides of the car.

The way some cars are done approaches "sorry, we fell asleep at the wheel" proportions. Your #1 source of DLC revenue is car paks. Your #1 advantage over GT5 is the ability to customize and put a real live livery on a car. For the love of all that's holy, make it work right and make the system have some sort of rhyme or reason to it so we don't have to waste time doing calculus to find out how to get the parts of the car to line up. Sometimes I feel like I'm painting for Earl Scheib, and that's just not right.

-8- Night racing is very, very cool. Nothing come close to racing into the sunset and into the night. I could care less about rain, but day to night is something truly spectacular to experience and a nice difficult change of pace to drive.

-9- Aftermarket part and wheel/tire paks as DLC, with tire lettering and including optional factory rims. All three American car companies used rims from the same companies, like torque thrusts and Magnum 500's. It'd be nice to be able to make variants of the Charger or the Malibu or the Impala by stripping the trim, adding new decal trim and badges and different factory wheels.

It would also be VERY cool to have the various Steel Wheels used in racing from the 60's and on low level muscle car trim packages along with trim rings and dog dish hubcaps. Making some 50's, 60's and early 70's NASCARS, USAC cars and Trans Am cars from what's available would be the very definition of Awesome. Throw in some UK, European and Aussie saloon and touring car options and you'd give more than one of us something beyond imagination.

--10- Eliminate "insta-slide" when tires lose grip. It's not an on off switch. That is the biggest difference in feel between GT and Forza IMHO. That alone would be a huge step in negating many of the physics arguments. GT gets it much closer as of now.

-11- Let me map my buttons on the wheel, and let the wheel be separate from the controller. Please...? I love that in GT I can use both. SO MUCH EASIER. And I can tell this button to do what I want, not what you think I might want to do.

-12- Create a page in the livery editor of "font pieces". The bottom of letters, the rounds of the "D", the tails of an "R". Simplify the task of creating fonts by providing the basic font elements without making any specific font.

-13- Allow me to set how many laps I want an event to be, and how aggressive or "talented" I want the AI to be. Allow me the flexibility to create a race for a location so I don't have to bug you to make this race longer or make this type of event etc. Heck, let me make up a championship season complete with type of cars allowed, Index ranking etc. Let me equip the AI in cars similar to mine with specific upgrades so I don't bring an A600 car to an event when the AI aren't using anything close.

-14- Allow me to say thank you for what you have done. Which is to allow me (..within certain limitations..) to create a wonderful gaming experience and have one heck of a good time.

No game is perfect, but I like what you've done for the most part from F3 to F4. I hope the trend continues into F5. If it does, I will certainly be back for another season.

Thank you for reading my book.

I was playing around in Autovista today, and began to think how great it would be if every car in the game could have an Autovista model. Critics of the game think of Autovista as basically just the "premium" models of the game. I think of it as a way to explore the vehicles and learn more about them. Sure it's cool to be able to look at the supercars, but I for some reason would love to see some of the average cars done in the same detail. I know that many can be seen on the street or at a car show, but I have an odd fascination in looking at the cars in digital form. I may have mentioned it before, but the best thing would be if it were incorporated as the dealership, so when you go to buy a car, you have the option to explore it in detail and learn more about it.

I dunno...

I'd have to really have nothing on the old schedule to take the Autovista tour of the AMC Pacer or the Ford Pinto...

It would definitely be cool for the 40 Ford or the 59 Eldorado and some of the specialized Drag hardware in the game though.

And I do have to say I would probably have to avoid the inside of the big Ford Service van...

I fear I'd be overcome with the sudden urge to buy tools...

I perhaps should have specified that it is all optional. :P Basically it would be like it is now, where you go to the car at the dealer, and can press X to statically view the car. To access the Autovista mode for that vehicle, you could press like Y or whatever other button is currently free. Heck, they could even have one make races in place of the "unlock challenge" that are optional, but would give a payout.

To me, Forza games are always great on paper, but when I actually go to play them I'm simultaneously impressed and disappointed. I'm not sure why, they just feel lacking.

What would make FM5 perfect, in my opinion (I'll leave cars and tracks out of this, since they would make the list three times longer):

Racing
- Day/night cycle
- Realistic pit stops along with soft/medium/hard/intermediate/wet tire choices

Customization
- Larger selection of paint finishes; matte/gloss/metallic/pearlescent/candy/chrome
- Better rim selection, look to Shift and you'll see what I mean
- The ability to paint different parts of the rim, as in Midnight Club: LA
- More bodykit options, including aerodynamic adjustment for non-Forza parts and widebody kits
- Weight reduction should effect the car's interior
- The ability to change the color of factory vinyls
- As BuickGNX said, engine swaps between manufacturers under the same core group

Garage
- Nuke the existing garage system; it's awful. Allow for more sorting options as in GT5. Spice it up a bit, it's pretty bland as it is.
- The ability to sell a car without getting out of it first.

A.I.
- Make it not try to kill me all the time.

Photos
- The ability to export photos to an external drive
- I don't know enough about photography to really explain myself here, but FM4's photo mode is very limited. I've taken pictures at actual races, and I'd say GT5's photo mode is much closer to real life, and has much wider potential in terms of what you can do with it.

Livery editor/storefront
- Return to the FM3 system of locking/unlocking liveries, vinyl groups, etc. Let it be the designer's choice.
- A more extensive list of manufacturer/aftermarket/sponsor decals. Any decal that Turn 10 puts on a race car in the game, there should be a copy of it that players can use.
- Layers copied from one side of the car should actually appear in the same spot on the other side of the car. This has been a problem since the very first FM and it needs to end yesterday.

Career
- Revamp the career structure with more championship-style events
- Scale back the amount of events, many of them are unnecessary or just plain boring

And finally, as ridiculous as this is...
- A completely new engine. FM4 - while very good - looks, plays, and feels like a five year old game. Many of the car models that have been kicking around the franchise since the first game are inaccurate, ugly, and simply need to be thrown away. Take a look at FM4's first-gen NSX for an example of this. Same goes for old track models. I understand this is a tall task, but I have no problem waiting an extra year or two for a truly new Forza.

I really wish that they could model the tires after real tires, especially since they partnered with Pirelli. Get's sort of boring seeing the same generic tires on each. However, this would probably only work for the tires that you purchase, and maybe the stock tires for the higher performance vehicles. It sucks that it would probably be a issue to allow for different brands to be modeled for the stock tires, while still using the data provided by Pirelli.

How about this "bad boy" to add to Porsche expansion pack?

What is "good"? See this is a problem that will always plague single-player action in games. You have to be "good" to beat them now. Not any bum off the street is going to beat the AI when everything is set to the hardest situation. I got friends who can't even get the cars to the first turn (depending on the car) so beating the AI is impossible.

"Good" is so relative. Good by who's standards? Do you mean "good" as what Lewis Hamilton would call another driver on the grid with him or "good" as in what you consider good? If we go by what you consider good who's to say your definition is any good, no pun intended.

See where I'm getting with this? I'm not defending the AI in the game. It's pretty good but not manna from heaven or anything. But it's a tricky situation to deal with.

They could make the AI foolproof but you'd never win a race. They could make the AI take every turn at the optimum speed and angle of attack and you'll never EVER win a race.

They could do a variation of what GT4 did. Instead of programming different AI protocols for difficulty levels, they could make the difficulty levels have the same AI but with faster or slower cars. As it is, the AI are just about right, I haven't lost a race yet.

The more I read this (...it's like the 6th time now...) the more I like the possibilities of it.

It would be VERY cool to be able to do a tire decal for the side wall. In motion a blur of color is about all they'd need, but I imagine at slower speeds it could effect frame rate some.

Or they could do up a bunch of DLC tire paks with the side walls predone for a number of different sets.

Either way, this is a solid idea, and one I'd like to see in some form.

GT5 has some tires with sidewall letters, some better than others. It sucks when you change a wheel or a tire and lose that.

Definitely like this concept and hope it makes it's way to a newer or updated version of the game.

Shame T10 doesn't really seem to be interested in much beyond DLC car paks as far as the game goes. They're nice and all, but there's a bunch more they could offer as far as editing tools or parts or tires or rims or tracks etc that would sell just as well.

Car money is good money, but it's not the only kind...

1: most of all, Endurance Races were tire wear and fuel consumption come into play, and hire your own pit crew and for those forza fans that don't have the patience to sit through an hr or 2 hr race to be able to choose too hire an AI driver and watch or fast forward the race, should also depend on difficulty setting.

2: time lapes - day to night

3: Off Road or RallyCross with off road cars like 358 modifieds, roadrunners, and sportsman and some other fun offroad toys. Check out Big Diamand speedway for more info.

4: custimizable - interior - dashboards, neon lights int and ext, nos tanks, psi gages, shift lights, and instrument panel

5: Fuel Type Selection - leaded or unleaded 87 std octane to 98 or buy additive for 108 oct, and alcohol for use in funny cars. and to be able to add nitrous too any engine that can handle it and blow your engine if not used right as seen in F&F , higher graded performance fuel and NOS should be unlockable at higher driver lvl

6: Drag Races get rid of bowling and autocross there just pointless or keep them as multiplayer games.

7: Weather - rain, snow, sleet, ice is perferable for a more challanging difficulty but not necessary

8: Please Try and keep Most of the Car Models At least the popular American,European,Asian

The Names Forza Motorsport it should have anything with motor too race on pavement, or dirt and as realistic as possible

There are a lot of things I would like to see improved or added, but one thing I would absolutely love to see is a Tuning Shop and/or Garage Mechanic.

So, as we all know, FM4 has a quick upgrade option that automatically upgrades your car to a specific class (which I never use btw). I would really like them to take this a step further and have the option to QUICK TUNE your car for specific tracks with the upgrades that are on your car.

For a lot of people such as myself, tuning just does not come naturally, and I don't always want to have to go searching for tunes created by others. I think it would be really cool if before a race, you could have the option to have your mechanic or whatever adjust your car for top speed, or better handling based on the track that you are about to race on.

Suspension, drivetrain, differential and aero settings could all be calculated for you. Not saying it would be perfect, but just to put it in the ballpark would be sweet, then you could go and tweak things here and there afterwards if you wanted to. I also think this would help people learn how to better tune their cars, by seeing what the stock settings were, then compare them to the quick tune settings and see what adjustments were made.

We all have different driving styles so I am not sure how well that will translate with each user, but hey, buying a tuning setup online is hit or miss as well.

There are a couple straight forward posts in the F4 forum that go through and explain things pretty well. It's basically what you're asking for, just without the "game doing it for you " part.

The one I found has been referenced in many places, and has a handy little section that says "if the car is doing this, then check...."

Even without any knowledge of tuning, having that guide and a methodical approach with a dash of common sense is more than enough to "ballpark" a tune.

And the cool part is once it's in your head, barring any interference from outside influences, it can be transferred from one car to the next.

I'm no tuning wizard, but I can handle the basics enough to get something done. And it was just by reading and applying what's already out there and experimenting a little bit and seeing what happens if.

To have the game decide what to tune and how would be to invite problems. unless the "crew chief" was able to ask you what kind of tune you wanted, you could get a car that makes you slower. Everyone drives differently, and we all like a car to feel differently. Trying to program a crew chief to understand your driving style and ballpark a tune is much like the default tunes already in the car.

You're basically going to end up with 20 different default tunes and playing "pick one". You can do that already, and likely be far more successful at it than you think.

As an added bonus if you order now, you'll get tunes that exclusively fit you...

..

I hear what you're say Doc, and there have been times where I have sat down and tried to tune a car from scratch, but I guess the issue lies in not having much "time," I would rather be driving than tuning TBH.

I just remember Race Pro had a feature like this where it would automatically set up the gearing properly for the track you were about to race on. Can't remember if it was just gearing or if it was suspension as well since I have not played it in a long time.

Tracks and more tracks!!! Brakes that work too, kinda' like GT5 brakes (GASP!!!) Yes, I said GT5 brakes...

Brake fade is a witch with a B.

Be careful what you wish for... ;)

#1 thing with 4za for me is the lack of tracks or a track editor/creator.

I'd love a train track builder or roller coaster tycoon style track builder. That would be beyond stellar, and I'd even pay for it.

#2 thing is taking off trim from cars. I'd love to do some serious custom work, but the trim just ruins the car.

As for brakes, I honestly think it's more the tire model than the brakes that don't work right. The "ABS on" is a little funky, acting more like AWD traction control, a problem shared with GT BTW. ABS should make stopping better, but it seems to take longer.

The whole point of ABS is to stop shorter and safer without lockup to maintain control. They got the no lockup part working, but the way both games use it it makes stopping longer for me, not shorter.

I have the CSR elite pedal set, and I can get better braking with ABS off and using the control pot on the load cell to adjust lock up for any car, anywhere at anytime. Simply a superior method to control that.

If they fixed the "car stars on ice" instant break away traction (or lack thereof) the tire model delivers, I think it would help deliver a more accurate and stable acceleration and deceleration curve. It would feel more like it should, and would allow you to better use the brakes as they are now.

As it stands, there's very little time between the "Hey look Ma, I'm braking" and the "OMG I'm sliding Ima gonna die" point right now. It is a little better now than it was in the original set up, but it still happens way too fast. There's either grip or no grip.

That land in between is where the work needs to be done. That flat line, dead feeling isn't close to what you really experience, there's always some sort of push-pull-frictional dynamic happening, it's not Stephen King's The Dead Zone...

That and the fact my CSR wheel is STILL acting up in the game isn't helping much either. Some days it's fine, others it's horrible. Yesterday FF had a mind of it's own. It got so bad I had to quit the game, the car just kept weaving all over the place as the FF changed every couple seconds.

I don't always get to drive with my head, and I finally had a good head day and was finally able to drive a little, but I couldn't in Forza land. It was just sad, really.

Sadder still is the "Official Forza Wheel" works better in GT than it does in Forza.

If that's not the very definition of sad, I don't know what is.

And then they want me to preorder another game...?

How about fixing this one first.

Or are we now enrolled in the "EA: Theory and Practice of Game Sales and Support, or Lack of Said Support and Why That's a Good Thing for Us 101" class at the local Community College..?

An improved version of the 'ring would be one thing.

And IMO, night racing and off-road tracks are highly likely to be in FM5, because they're in Horizon which runs on a modified version of Forza's engine.

If FM5 is going to be on the next gen Xbox, then yes it should be given that they do a revamped 'Ring.

Edit: They really need to revamp the vinyl system. Trying to make a (seemingly) simple design on the Vandura shows me a few pain in the butt flaws. First, they need to figure out a way to reduce runoff issues, where you try to do one spot and it ends up running over onto another (on the Vandura, doing a vinyl on the bumper causes a bit to run onto the airdam near the wheel well). Generally this can be fixed with a little additional vinyl work, but sometimes it can't be fixed. Second, they need to fix how the vinyls conform to the body. Trying to vinyl around the windshield frame, without running onto the roof or hood shows this issue. You would think that you could use a simple curved element, but nope, it decides to deform the element downwards towards the hood. This is probably because it's being done from the roof view, but you'd think they could program it to take that into account. I essentially had to do several little vinyls to try to make it work, but there are a few little body color spots still showing.

There's many cars that need serious help in this regard. The way the do the bodies deforms in many areas, and many times makes an area unusable. When you add the fact left to right is backwards from each other, that top to bottom can be 3 to 4 points different @ 0.0 from R to L, and that some cars have areas that are unpaintable, or like the Aussie V8 SC that always has one white mirror after painting no matter what...

For everything good there's a bad. I'm hoping they take steps to improve these areas, but I have a feeling it'll be nearly the same, as all the attention will go towards performance of the game engine and super ultra detailed Auto Vista and "improving" Kinect, like actually making it something with an actual use beyond waving at distant ships as you "drive"...

And pit stop guys... That's one I can see them wasting time on. I could care less personally. Just let me sit in the car with a paddle in front of my face. Just raise the car, make the noise then let me go. I don't need anything else. I'm there to race, not sit in amazement at poorly animated guys pretending to put my tires on for the 6000th time.

When they went to the "animated" stops in GT5 it was such a horrible waste of time. I wish they'd let me shut it off. Watching stick figures pretend they know how to use an air gun and watching the fuel guy just empty the can anywhere he wants is just a travesty. Such a waste of time and resources.

I'd rather just be in the car and see the paddle. Maybe see a guy run in front to change a tire or something. Keep it simple. You can convey more than enough urgency and commotion without wasting thousands of man hours on an animation we'll all be sick of seeing 3 days in.

There's been too much emphasis on arcade garbage and useless animations and museums and what ever doesn't have to do with the cars and the game on both sides lately.

For once I'd like to see a company worry about the simple, important stuff.

Like just being able to have white wheels.
Like having old style NASCAR steel wheel options.
Like having ALMS or DTM or Aussie V8 single retainer wheel options.
Like having car models that don't turn logos into "look what I can do with Silly Putty"...

I am looking forward to Day/Night transitions and Rally/Dirt racing though...

You can have the rain, but sunset and dust are both fun and beautiful to behold.
