So if I can just reiterate what we have for pre-order cars. We have:

Gamestop: 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
Amazon.com: 2008 Ferrari California (seriously who would want this)
Jbhifi.com: 2013 BMW M6
Best Buy: Unknown
Wal-Mart: Unknown

This doesn't look good as of right now.

The one thing that's bothering me is that they still don't show the bonus info for the 360 version.

The fear I have is that if the pre-order cars are cars we have already seen in other Forza games, what does that mean for the DLC.

@McLaren -- The first game's pre-order cars were exclusive on-disc content that eventually became available as a "DLC" pack. It looks like the same deal again.

@Gotbeefboy564 -- I wouldn't be surprised if there are no such promotions/incentives for the 360 version...as has been demonstrated already, they want everyone to pay attention to the XBone version. For all we know, these bonus cars could be included in the 360 version without any hoops to jump.

On the bright side, since FM5 did away with unicorns there shouldn't be any in FH2, either.

The a45 AMG is new to the series unless it's in fm5.
Nope it's new. Question is how many new cars are we going to get. I remember in FH1 some of the new cars included the Eagle Speedster, Viper SRT10 ACR-X, etc. Hopefully we'll see at least 30-40 new cars.

As I said about the first Horizon and again with FM5, if any cars are cut from the game (for whatever reasons) you'll only get them back via DLC. What constitutes a worthless repeat to one person could be someone else's favoritest car of all time.

I think those are similar to the Day One edition cars in FM5; they're just regular cars from the base game which are tuned up and have a new livery. If that's true, then I have a bit more hope for the DLC schedule.

Plus, that's infinitely better than the first Horizon's limited edition/pre-order DLC. The LCE and pre-order cars appeared in-game being used by the AI (regardless of whether you had the DLC or not), meaning they were on the disc anyway and the special codes were there just to unlock a virtual barrier. Hell, one of the skills challenges made you drive one of these cars, which is an even bigger slap in the face.

Nothing. Forza has been recycling pre order cars for a while, nothing new here. Also at least they're not using cars new to the series, it would be annoying to have to buy them when we should be able to have them in the game.

You didn't buy FM4 on day one, did you? :-/

Looks great and all, but I don't like it how just about any car can go just about anywhere with no problem at all. Reality check:

Yes, because nothing says "FUN!" quite like a reality check in an action-oriented, sandbox-style open-road racing game.

SpinTires is the best choice for simulating that kind of heart-pounding <1mph action. 👍

Also, officially the first complaint I've witnessed now that PG has addressed the criticisms of the first game's roadside barriers.

If only it was a sandbox, then you'd actually risk getting stuck once in a while.

Problem is: What's the point of using cars with actual offroading capabilities when the almighty Supercars™ can do everything just as good or even better?

This would be fun:

I always felt that the original Horizon suffered from this issue a little; buying rally bred cars like the Impreza just felt pointless because the rest of the cars could handle the dirt roads just as well.

I would still buy an impreza anyway :)

AWD/4WD still mattered. RWD cars aren't as fast on dirt and gravel as AWD cars, even with the rally parts. I was also going to mention that you can't climb the bluffs in Clear Springs very well with a RWD supercar (there are sections where the invisible wall is further from the road):

When you bounce around on uneven terrain in FH1, it's obvious PG was already pushing the FM4 engine into doing things outside its usual comfort zone. Proper offroading and getting stuck would be very alien concepts. Considering all most people want to do is barrel from checkpoint to checkpoint as the crow flies in their Veyron, I wouldn't get my hopes up for that sort of stuff.

However, I would be in favor of a solution like FUEL, which had varying levels of drag/traction based on the amount of foliage and type of terrain. You could drive anything across a thick grassy field, but an offroad-class truck would do it faster than a roadcar, so the viability of a shortcut depended on what you were driving and how long of a cut it was.

This is the kind of thing I was thinking would be an ideal solution, it annoys me that this doesn't happen in GTA V, it makes the off road classes pointless.

VXR
Yeah, once it didn't turn up in DLC I felt certain it'd be in Horizon 2. Great little car, the one I'm most looking forward to.
European hot hatch. European roads. Turn 10 right on the money, as you do....
