Forza Horizon 4 Deluxe and Ultimate Edition Bundles Detailed

English is not my first language, so I might not get this quote. You say that everything is cheaper on the standard edition, but its not. The standard doesn't include all the extras the UE does. It's separate and has additional costs.

It's not your English (which is extremely good for a non native speaker by the way). It's definitely his mathematics, or lack thereof.

The price for the standard and deluxe edition is mad here in Belgium, like you can better buy the ultimate edition straight away.

$100 US for the game but we get a DB11 and a t-shirt for the bonuses hopefully a model car like the last two games. Any other places have “special” cars for pre order bonuses

*groan* :indiff: I hope not but I guess it's an inevitability now. Do Gamestop customers still get the early access if they don't buy from the MS store?

I believe all physical copies and digital get early access for the ultimate edition pre order.

If you have game pass what would you need to buy to get the VIP bonus etc?

Does the car pass give access to VIP or is it only the ultimate edition?

As I have game pass I don’t really want to pay for the ultimate edition.

Hey man, Microsoft has a direct reply to the Gran Turismo STi!

....just as soon as Toyota gets back in the Forza Series.....

They already can use Toyota motorsports vehicles, though.

Pre-ordering Ultimate Edition. I made the mistake of getting FM7 Standard and buying one pack at a time as I felt like it. Death of a thousand cuts, right and proper.

And I still have yet to buy VIP for FM7. :banghead: So, there's, what, $30 by itself? Why not get it all in one bundle, and cheaper to boot..

If you're going all in on a Forza title, UE is the way to go.

I only preorder the moment pre-loading gets the green light. That's how I beat them.

I'm always baffled when people pre-order games several months in advance. There's no point... Why?
Time saver, not having to hold on to money, I mean there's a lot of reasons really. The faith in the car packs are also another one, this past two games have been pretty good to be honest.

I'd typically do it to juts get the payment out of the way, becuase I'd have likely spent that money on something insignificant anyways.

In the case of physical special editions, it makes sense to pre-order those as soon as possible. You don’t know what their availability will be like later on.

On another subject, Amazon’s site says that they’re delivering the physical UE on the same day as the standard release instead of four days early. Don’t know what’s up with that.

Are pre-orders already being charged for? That would be another reason why I'd wait until the last day before release.

I just prefer getting as much information as possible before going ahead with the buying decision.

Fair point on physical limited editions. Sadly, my brain has already adapted to the intensifying transition to digital distribution.

In this day and age, unless it's a niche or import, I don't see any major game company running the risk of understock. Unless they're Nintendo.

To be honest, I'm not sure exactly how it works with the Xbox One Store. However, that's not the only place people can pre-order from. It just depends on where they decide to go, I guess. Some people just have faith in PG, and that's rightfully placed I believe.

I do too, especially lately with the Forza series. This is probably the one time This generation that I did not preorder(not counting FM5, as I came late for that one.)

I agree that FH4 doesn't have many warning signs hovering around it. Then again, FM7 demonstrated how a developer can go from fairly competent to strangely amateurish in a short amount of time.

It was Fm5 all over again to be honest. Trying to reach a deadline for a console release may have hindered it more than we might realize. The insistence on 4K and HDR being plastered all over everything should have been a warning sign for us, in my opinion. Still, the game was hardly bad.

I cannot comment on FM5, but it's probably true that the 4K demands for FM7 stole too much focus during development. No doubt that FM7 is a great game to play while driving, but other things that weren't broken in FM6 took a step back. Even worse, it's hard to tell a major difference in overall quality after several updates.

I was recently showing my FM7 car collection to some friends who weren't familiar with the game. They heard the sound coming from my controller when I pressed a button to navigate the garage, then saw how the game didn't respond to my input until 2-3 seconds had passed. First comment was that I should consider buying some better hardware when in fact it's just the menu being poorly optimized. FH4 must not repeat this mistake.

Yeah, it was front and center most of the time, and it sounds nice on paper, but I wonder what got held back in order to get it going in the direction it did.

As for overall quality, I somewhat agree. Just going into the My Cars section tends to make you forget about how good the game can be at times.

When ending that last sentence I wrote, I didn't realize you were going to touch up on the exact same thing . I hope FH4 decides to revert back to the way it used to be, or even better, keep it this way but actually get it optimized!

How about Play Anywhere? I think I need to get the digital edition if I'm going to play on my PC.

Gamestop has the release date listed as 9/28 so you would get the early access. Only way to get Play Anywhere is with a digital version, but early access applies there as well.

VXR
Got my preorder for the Ultimate Edition sorted, downloading from XBL. What is it now, about 8 weeks until early access? Can't wait.

7 weeks and a day to be exact. Ooh and there is a demo somewhere along the way too. :)

I'm going to get it on games pass. Probably get bells and whistles along the way. Not one to put down money all in one go. Also I play a bit of everything on the pass, so value for money.

I'll be pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition digitally so I can play on my PC as well as my Xbox. I might also get a One X just for this ;)
