Probably not. It seems to happen when you you're changing cars in the middle of a speedzone though. Keep that in mind.
Mine happens when you rev the car and accelerate hard, also when it crashes through barriers and other stuff.

My attempts at getting the Mosler:

In my file I used the 918 and got it on my first run with randoms. Luckily they could drive worth a damn so it was easy.

On my family member's file the game strangely only let me use the FE Murci so I thought I'd give it a shot. You know randos suck when you finish second during the second race and first among the human players in a drag spec car. I quit after that.

Third attempt and I was able to use the Senna but the randos still could not drive to save their lives. Thankfully the ones that sucked left and the ones still in were at least decent and placed well (thanks probably to me helping block some AI).

On a side note I took the Mosler out for a test run and promptly oversteered off the road at speed in about 5 minutes.

Would it just annoy a few people to tell you I got it on my first attempt? We only had five in the group to start with, one backed out when they realised they weren't good enough, and then we absolutely creamed the opponents in the next couple of races.

Good tip - AWD is your friend. Pick something like the Aventador or 918 Spyder, these cars got the best results.

I used the Noble M600. With the proper setup it's easily the fastest car out of those available for the Trial - I did a lap of the Holyrood Circuit in about 58 seconds with it.

Have either of you tried the Zonda C?

I keep wanting to try more cars but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I got the Molser through several attempts days ago. I've used the Noble M600 not only race, but also use to block the CPU to let my teammates catch up.

Was worth it!! :D

The Veneno works well with the twin-turbo conversion and the full weight reduction.

Wait, there's new stuff? Sorry, been playing Black Ops IV - a game that doesn't seem to have any major problems with the reward drip or online play that I'm aware of.

The Hudson Hornet is next week, right?

I've never felt more relieved... Sure I had to do it once, but it took a lot of concentration out of me. I was lucky to get a podium finish on the last race.

Fixed that for you.

For cosmetics, sure. Not for anything else. It also helps that it's a relatively fair system aside from putting the two new weapons in the Operation leveling system, and I haven't seen anything on how they are going to do the SWAT or the Daemon 3RB after Absolute Zero is done.

Plus it helps that you know - it's a fun game and rock solid online.

I had to do the whole Mosler championship again. My best friend plays Horizon but he's even more casual about it than me. He never races anything higher than average drivatars. So I told him I'd run the series for him. Took about six or seven tries again. Most annoying was one series where there were only two of us, stacking the odds in our favor, but my teammate kept coming in last while I finished second in all three races. But I kept trying and I eventually got it. Again.

Something I can't help but wonder is what's the point of these S2 and X class cars if almost nobody can drive them?

I'm basing that 100% off what I saw doing the co-op championship.

These people are clamoring for this Mosler and they can't drive a lap without crashing.....so why then?
The races I ran typically had me finishing close to 30 seconds ahead of the 2nd place human, and I even lapped 2 humans in a race once.

Why would/are people that cannot drive this car, so hell bent on trying to get it?

I guess I can understand being a car collector, but damn there's a lot of terrible drivers that collect cars they can't drive...

After 5 attempts I finally found someone who could actually drive it so dumb that half of these people just can not drive.

I wonder if it is less a case of being able to drive them, and more a case of the Horizon series especially not really having any penalty for needless aggression and dickish behavior, and in fact, somewhat enables it by having the AI Drivatars on higher difficulties be incredibly aggressive and rubber band-y in the higher power brackets.

I found an ideal strategy for winning the Mosler:

1) Drive a Porsche 918 tuned to top of S2
2) Lose a ton of Trials 3-0 (at least 5 or 6) despite placing 2nd or better in literally every single race because literally nobody else on your team is capable of anything even approaching motor-vehicle-operating competence
3) Luck out into a Trial where everybody else in the team drops out after Round 1 except the one other good driver
4) Win the final two races by scores of something like 850-100

The punchline: the Mosler's car mastery has a $200,000 cash bonus unlock, in case "it is the new best car in the game" wasn't motivation enough.

They want it because [insert whatever popular youtuber] was parroting "the Mosler is the best car in the game".

And I guess it's also an easy crutch for speed zones and such.

But that's what I mean... How can it be used at all by these people?

From what I've seen most of these players can't get through a single turn, let alone a whole speed zone...

They think "the best car in the game" will magically fix their driving.

That's what happened to me. I was in my Grip Tune Senna (courtesy of Don Joewong Song [congrats again on the engagement]). I got entered with 5 other drivers: 3 Senna's + me, a 918 and an Aventador J.

After the first race, both the Senna's left and the 918 managed to grab 2nd. Me and the Aventador had some trouble so we were in the back. Second race, the 918 again came 2nd with me in 5th and Aventador still in the back. Then, in the final race, I got the podium with the 918 in 4th. I was never so focused on that final race in my life...

Hell, any half decent AWD tune will work.

Any S2 998 or close AWD swapped car will do it  I would say normally it’s dependent on driver skill but this time I think it’d be more emphasis on the abilities of your team mates

Also again if anybody needs a partner to do this Trial I will happily help out
