“The other thing that’s a surprise about Britain is how vertical it is. We don’t think of, like, the Swiss Alps or the Rockies like we had with the first game, which was set in Colorado. But this is our most vertical world ever. [Forza Horizon 3 add-on] Blizzard Mountain was a big experiment to see how vertical we could go. Now we’ve got all of that and more, because there is a lot of verticality throughout — especially the northwest parts of the map, which are the lake country, and going up into Scotland.

If there's more verticality like Blizzard Mountain, then I'm very pleased.

If there is Top Gear included, would love to have voiceovers on cars to return. Chris Harris, Leblanc and Rory combo?

:D Most important question about Horizon 4:

In the game's universe, who pays for the damaged road signs, trash cans, benches, bus-stops, fences, walls, gardens, trees, field plantations, roadkill (both domestic and wild), traffic scuffles etc caused by Horizon festival drivers?

And where can I hire the guys who fix everything up so fast?

They tax the credits you earn. This includes sky high life insurance premiums for the people who repair the track during races so start winning those fans increasing that influence.

Luckily the game takes place in a Speed Racer-like universe in which motor racing is more popular than premiership football.

  • Map is about the size of Forza Horizon 3's Australia, but has 4 different versions (one for each Season; some places more easily accessible in Winter etc.).
  • You now "live" at the Horizon Festival, are constantly surrounded by it (justifies property purchasing).
  • Properties can give you Perks, more places to Fast-Travel, access Garage, Auction House etc. Buyable with CR.
  • Some Properties give you "jobs", special challenges and events.
  • The bikes and hovercraft are Showcase opponents, not driveable.
  • 60fps option on Xbox One X (trade resolution for framerate).
  • London is not one of the urban locations you can drive through.
  • Like Australia, this game features a "highlights package" of the country, focusing more on the fun factor than a geographically accurate place.
  • The Playground Games (King, Infected etc.) will have a 6v6 mode and leaderboards.
  • Game is built for online play with real players. Offline you get Drivatars.
  • Emotes are poses players can make with their drivers.
  • You can customise the look of your driver with hats, shirts etc..
  • Blueprints return; you can set the Seasons, and you can create your own Race Routes.
  • Wheelspins return.
  • Instead of earning Fans, you gain "Influence" at the Horizon Festival. Different ways to earn that (Streaming, Painting, Photography, Racing etc.).

It probably won't happen but it'd be great if in addition to the traditional London-style hackney carriages we could pick up fares in New York style yellow or green cabs. Anglophiles would be up in arms though.

And here I thought the festival just had some REALLY deep pockets...

Also, that's why the game payouts can get to stingy.

I know it's a really small thing to pick up on but I love how PG aren't afraid of saying no and straight up denying the presence of certain features. There are too many times when people try to weasel their way around those questions with stuff like "well actually the focus of our game is... etc", whereas when Ralph Fulton was asked if having ownable properties meant that we could get out of our cars and walk around them, the first two words out of his mouth were "it doesn't". Glad to see them being communicating clearly with features and not feeding rumours. 👍

There's a part of me that wonders if it's because they don't want their words misconstrued, like how people are still bitching about it not being Japan when there was absolutely *NOTHING* to confirm that it was a location other then it was on a short list.

New screenshot I haven't seen posted anywhere:

Considering how they don't put anything remotely close to heavy in I wouldn't count on it. As worthy as those bands most certainly are.

Hell even Deep Purple would be great.

In terms of a British radio station, I feel we're we're far more likely to have a UK hip-hop/grime station. Think artists such as Stormzy, JME, Giggs, Dizzee Rascal etc.
Like it or lump it, it's probably the fastest growing genre in the world right now and I think it also suits the Forza Series quite well.

They said it was the North American "unveiling" of the Senna today in Sunday's press conference. And I'm thinking that was their "special" announcement for today.

It looks like they have kept the original Horizon Festival bass arena radio host guy with the cool US accent, I thought they may have dropped him for a quintessential english accent being in the UK now. 👍 Seeing more and more clips and live play I am looking forward to this game now. I wonder if this will now reach over 100gb download being 4K i think there could be a chance.

Edit: I think on FH3 I brought the UE for £80 but then paid for Hotwheels and Blizzard £20 each on top £120 overall. So it is very good to see VIP, day1 car packs and the two new expansions all for £80.00 this time. UE it will be for me, probably pre-order mid-Sep as I will get the digital version again now I have TB free on One X.

Not excited by the location at all. Australia was a very unique place. Not saying England is boring but I've never heard someone saying "My dream is to go sightseeing in England"

My dream is to go sightseeing in England.

Nothing man made in the united states is more than 300 years old, but i do love how we all speak English here. I'd love to go someplace that has older buildings where they also speak English.

Though quite frankly i'd rather go to Scotland, Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities i've ever seen.

I'm not saying i'm happy/unhappy about Horizon 4's location or anything, but the reality is that i'd love to go on a vacation to the U.K.

Just because you don't hear it, doesn't mean it isn't true.

FH4 is based in the UK, not just England, so you'll be able to go to Edinburgh as well.

It's a shame the colours look so washed out in this vid. Interesting that the same season will look different from year to year.

Maybe because you're in Germany and people tend to dream about faraway places? I'm sure there are millions of people in Australia and elsewhere overseas having dreams about visiting Europe, including the UK.

I cannot wait to visit the UK in FH4. The architecture is distinct, the countrysides are cosy and the Scottish Highlands have that intangible mystique. It's also historically synonymous with the industrial revolution, thereby cars, and the climate is perfect for showcasing the four seasons.

AR12 (I know, I know) just put up a video where it sounds like he saw a BCD of the game.

Looks like he saw the full map, confirms the mountain region in the northwest of the map

Confirms leagues (not much elaboration), Photomode in Online, Rewind in online plus a bunch of other details too.
