Simulation: the imitative representation of the functioning of one system or process by means of the functioning of another (Merriam-Webster)
All driving games are simulations of the act of driving, they only differ in how realistic the imitation of such action is.

I do own and operate the most expensive simulation platform there is: An actual car.

I found one of these in my shed the other week. The immersion is real.

People do drive their actual car like its a simulation.

No, I love GT7 on VR. It broke the mold for every other sim racing game.
GT7 didn't 'break the mold' in any way for sim racing titles, and certainly not in terms of VR.
If its not PSVR2 then I’ll just wait.
I predict you are going to have a very, very limited choice (poor me with only 17 odd sims to pick from in VR).

Great news! I‘m going to buy a PS5 Pro later this year and FH5 will definitely be one of my first games for it as I have never played any of the Horizon games before. They always looked pretty cool to me though, a bit like a modern version of the 2005 Test Drive Unlimited. The only comparable game on PS I could think of so far has been The Crew Motorfest.

Judging by his sig I suspect Horizon 5's three divisions of hot hatches would also be a major bone of contention for him.

Well, well, "The game is currently leading the PS Store pre-order charts in the UK, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand, among over a dozen other countries", as per this article (and other sites):

It excludes the US I see.
Just like that other non-US thing going on at the moment, I reckon you could call this a "Coalition of the Wallets"

Given the popularity in its demand on PS, it clearly shows there is a market to bring also Forza Motorsports and both of their successors onto the Sony PS.
I think there is a space on PS for Microsoft's "Big 3' franchises: Halo, Gears of War and Forza (but by way of Horizon). Sony doesn't do FPS anymore as they abandoned Killzone, and although the Last of Us has some third person cover shooter mechanics (and a dystopian setting w/monsters) it's not really like GoW, and the same can be said of Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West.

I don't know about that. With how VERY soured alot of people are on Motorsport right now (Including very possibly Microsoft themselves even though they are part of the reason for it), it'd be a miracle if they don't have it on the chopping block because it didn't make them the money they wanted instantly.
