Is it normal that in 20-30 seconds in the race I'm already in first place at the Highly Skilled difficulty since the update? Normally it'd take a minute and a half or two minutes to do so.

Honestly (And that may be just me) I don't mind. I'm a super casual and I enjoy just racing with some easy'ish/medium'ish A.I. and that fits me just right.

(Edit reason: Specified at what difficulty)

2.- Physics are better than I was expecting (without reaching a sim.level of detail) but I am having problems with drifting😅😅
Are you using drift camera and a Formula Drift vehicle? Drift tyres may also help.
5.- As a Mexican I can say that Playground games did a great jpb recreating the looks and the feeling of driving on mexican roads😃

I had the chance to play around 1 hour last night:

1.- I won over 10 cars, some of them in the roulette, I though people were joking about the game giving you cars for no reason🤣
2.- Physics are better than I was expecting (without reaching a sim.level of detail) but I am having problems with drifting😅😅
3.- Anyone knows how I can increase the cars sounds and decrease the volume of radio?? I can barely hear the car engine and exhaust
4.-Graphics are great, I have had some glitches with vegetation sttutering but nothing really annoying,.PD has spoiled me on the level of detail of cars and specially on cockpit materials and reflections but FH5 looks pretty decent, however, cars still an step behind than on GT7

Hi there. About drifting, get a dedicated drift car: A Deberti, Formula Drift, or most of the Hoonigans, since they already have drift suspensions/tuning and are overpowered, you will induce drifting just by accelerating, and from there you just countersteer, tap the brakes (or the hand brake) and modulate the throttle. And, of course, don't use traction control/stability assists.

Right from the starting screen, you can go to the options/configuration menu and can assign a general volume value, or separate values for car sounds/music/narration, etc. Optionally, you can turn of the radio completely (just keep switching radio stations with the cross pad to the right, eventually you will reach the off option.

Thank you for the inputs😃

Hello friends,

I have also done my first runs in FH 5 and I have to admit that I am very enthusiastic about the game.
There is so much to do. The game looks great on the PS 5. I played with the steering wheel, but it's very tiring. It will probably be a controller game.
Maybe I'll see you on the track.
Have fun and enjoy the ride
What wheel are you using and how is it tiring to use?

Be interesting to hear the thoughts of PS players who have never played a Forza game or Horizon game before.
I think we've heard a couple on this thread already including @Jordan. They seem to be having a lot of fun.

Perhaps wait until after the 29th if you want a wider selection.

It's really fun to see PS5 players commenting on how FH5 throws hundreds of cars at you....

Don't worry guys, the first 500 cars come quickly, but it gets more difficult after that. Reaching the full 899 car garage is not something you can easily achieve within a year ;)

I haven't read a comment on how we dirty Xboxers don't wash our cars...

Downloading now. I'll let you know.

I've been looking forward to this so I'm just as interested to know what I think of it

Disclaimer: I have played a little bit of Forza a long time ago on a friends Xbox and quite enjoyed it... once I got used to the different controller.

I’m seriously blind. Been looking through the first four pages and haven’t seen a Car list. Just looked on the Forz site for this:

Only a handful of Hondas. Not even one Accord.

Oh well. Plenty of Audis, BMWs and a cargo ship full of Fords.

First time ever Forza player here ! I'm a big PS and GT fanboy, started playing GT1 in '99.
So far I'm enjoying FH5 much more than I thought I would. Since Friday I have spent an hour playing GT7 and about 12 hours playing FH5. I'm a complete newbie, learning and exploring so far has been good fun. I Won't stop playing GT7 but FH5 is a nice change of scenery. It's cool not to be restricted to track limits and there is really a lot to keep you busy.
So far I'm happy to have pulled the trigger on FH5 !

I’m happy there’s a Mustang SVO in the game.

However, don’t clap so fast. If I recall correctly from some early posts, I think some cars only appear once and then they disappear, never to resurface?
Backstage passes cover that I think. They add two new exclusives from a selection of four per week, letting the people vote for which duo they want to appear. (Unfortunately a lot of people go for the faster and "cooler" cars during the votes.)

Is there still a place to buy all the cars like FH3 and FH4?

There's autoshow like in every Forza Horizon for non-exclusive cars. They have a nice selection.

I know that they plan to add a boatload of 'em if not all, whenever I clicked on ton of non-story/career exclusive car, they added the part where it's available from the backstage screen. You should have access to that feature after you get your first house.

The selection grows each week and in the end it should have all the cars that are non-traffic except probably the monster truck and the trucks where you haul a car during stories. At least that's what I understand.

Quick edit: I don't know if it'll include the cars like the Oreo version car of a certain that was mentioned but I wouldn't think so.

There's still the Auction House where you can buy any car from players (other than paid DLC cars), however for rare cars you are dependent on someone actually selling one, and the prices being very high.

Of the 'Hard To Find' cars that were exclusively prizes for the weekly and monthly playlists in the past, a few have been added to the Autoshow to buy with credits, more have been added to the Backstage Pass system (in short, the playlists now can award a car voucher to buy any one of these cars), and past playlists are being repeated to give a second chance at their prizes. The choice of which playlist is repeated and which cars are added to the Backstage Pass list every month is technically a player vote, but the options to vote for are controlled by Playground, so I suspect they will arrange things so that all of the past content is available again at some point.

In the long term, the only cars that I don't see being made available again are the three that were unlocked via purchases of real-world partner products - an Oreo-liveried Zonda, a nail varnish Ford GT, and the '32 Ford Horizon Edition which came with a specific Xbox gamepad purchase. Only the '32 Ford has any significant differences to the normal car already available (it's a high-powered open-wheel offroad buggy). None of these can be bought on the Auction House I believe as they're paid DLC, and at least one of them wasn't even available on the Steam version as only Xbox codes were included.

The most important thing to be aware of is that any car marked "hard to find" is not available in the autoshow or via wheel spins.

So when checking a weekly seasonal playlist, have a good look at how the cars are classified. "hard to find" is the big one, grab any event prizes with "hard to find" on them so that you won't regret missing them later.

As @pez2k mentioned, "hard to find" cars can be found on the auction house if you are lucky, and 2 more are added to the Backstage Pass every week, but there are still probably around 200 "hard to find" cars which you currently can't get via the Backstage Pass, so you will either have to wait until they are added, or find them gradually by doing the weekly seasonal events.

Edit: The complete list is here:

I decided to buy it on PS5 Pro even if I have it on XBSX. Reason being... comfort of mind. I know it can sound weird but I also got the Premium Edition.

At least now I won't have to heat up my own whole bedroom when I play unlike on my XBSX. Not only that but I feel far more comfortable on a Dualshock 5.
I assume from your comments it makes your XSX run hot? Ive never had that issue with it to be honest.Cant decide which I prefer though,Dualsense or XSX controller.Battery life is awful on the Dualsense compared to the XSX pad.I use an Elite series 2 for xbox gaming and it lasts for ages on a charge,I bought the Dualsense edge and battery life is shocking in comparrison. Both good in my opinion though. 👍

It looks really good and runs smooth on Pro Performance mode. Sometimes "Highly Skilled" is too slow and sometimes the level below that is a little too fast for me depending on the track and car. The whole game is a little too insane for my tastes in general with all the different currencies and whatnot.. It's kind of a meme of itself, but the physics are fun and there's lots to do. I knew that already though. Nice game to have on the machine for some mindless racing fun. Haven't tried the wheel yet.

Hot wheels tracks are pretty cool.

Before the PS5 release, Highly Skilled was (At least to me) very difficult. Now at least I can make some mistakes and still win.

Yeah it is, but sometimes I can't get close to the leader, sometimes I win comfortably. I go back to above average or whatever they call it if I want to get a win on a difficult cat/ track combo. I'm running auto trans though, that probably slows me down sometimes.

Try manual without clutch. You will be faster and get a better feel of when to upshift/downshift.

I know how it's just my hands cramp up on controller. But I use manual with a wheel. Not sure if this game is worth using a wheel with or not though.

Didn't quite manage to get to the Hall Of Fame before the early access period ended, I'm one unlock short. Also failed with my attempts at the Eliminator, when I managed to get a game everyone was already way too good. Don't think I'll be getting that trophy.

The game does seem a bit easier than I remember. I never managed to beat the train before in the Diablo but did it first time now. Currently running Expert difficulty but the game wants me to bump it up to the next one. Maybe it's because I'm using manual now.

I struggle so much with drifting in other games, even FH4, but this one I can actually do it even in normal cars. Still my least favourite activity, everything else is much more fun, especially dirt racing.

Overall I'm very happy to return to Mexico. Currently saving up all my cash for the 2 expensive houses.

That would be me. The simplified driving physics are still fun, landing somewhere between GTA Online and Wreckfest. Though the cars have plenty of oversteer on exit, they're pretty understeery through the corner. Dragging on the brake at 10% on entry doesn't give you the rotation you would expect it to.

Overall, most of the cars kind of feel similar once they're tuned.

Going into the game, my expectations were pretty tempered, but this game is the closest we're going to get to GTA Online with wheel support, so I'll take it.

I was surprised by the lack of liveries. I haven't tried making one, but is it harder to make liveries in Forza compared to Gran Turismo? There aren't too many replica livery creators, so there are only a few choices for some cars.

It is harder to make liveries in the sense that you can't import logos into the game like you can with Gran Turismo, so they have to be made from scratch.

Thanks for the thoughts, the GTA Online comparison is interesting and not one I'd thought of before, never played GTA Online so could be why.
