1) Is the Deberti C10 the only new car coming this month?

2) I'm pretty sure I'm heavily misremembering this one, but wasn't there something about being able to choose which intro movie we see when booting up the game?

1) sadly yes that's all for this month. 2) That was from the anniversary some time ago, I don't think it'll be a returning feature.

Yes did that say we will be able to change intro movie on January. I think its on next update since i didn't remember seeing that option on current version of the game

yup, will be for next update, part of me wants to do Retrowave but Odesza's intro for FH4 was also perfect so I'm 50/50 right now

Being able to choose the intro is listed on the final tab in the series main screen for the next series along with new cars (plural so it's more than 1!) etc.

Others have answered already but:

1) Yes. January was all but stated on the T10 forums to be a "catch-up" Series for everyone who bought FH5 during the Winter Sales, with the DeBerti probably only coming in because its new owner is less stingy with allowing it in games. The Valkyrie AMR, for example, is already available in the Backstage Shop but is available in the Playlist this month because new players likely won't have 1000 Forzathon Points with which to get Backstage Passes.

2) Yep, that's in Midnight Muscle. I might reinstall FH5 for that update just because of that feature alone, but it'll depend on what we're getting car-wise.

I doubt it, since we know from FH4's experience that FH5 being announced basically led directly to the end of FH4's live service. Like, Midnight Muscle has more than one reward car in its playlist--FH4 ended with one. (Besides, 'brand new game' also implies 'new IP' to me.)

Surprise location is referring to the location of the studio, not the game, I think. All the other studios are named, this one is not hence the "surprise".

With the end of Let's Go streams (joining the introduction of Horizon Backstage as the herald of end-of-life) we've cut back on our series/season coverage from individual season articles each Thursday to just a series overview every fourth Thursday...

... but having looked over the whole of S42 and seen one new car and yet another season in which you're required to have either the DLC or Xbox multiplayer access to get both rewards, I couldn't even be bothered with that this month. Very, very uninspiring series.

I feel like requiring Xbox Live and/or DLC is going to happen a lot more often starting with Midnight Muscle. Just last month they had a season where you were basically required to use the Lambo Sesto Elemento FE just to complete the PR Stunts, to say little of the X 999 PR Stunts on top of that. Everyone who's left is probably a hardcore enough player at this point to warrant it.

2. Bank the Forzathon points against future Backstage passes I might need to buy; and
3. Try out the EventLabs. Enjoyed the Castle on the island as it kind of reminded me of Micro Machines with the figure of 8 carnage. Thought the one on the main map was crap to be honest.

Assuming you have a fully complete garage, how many backstage passes did you bother collecting?

I'm 100% garage complete, and decided that 10 backstage passes would be enough for whatever comes. Of course, I still have well over 20k Forzathon points so it barely made a dent. But getting even more backstage passes seems rather pointless.

Edit: Maybe Horizon 5 was supposed to be set in Germany, but PGG turned to Mexico instead to (possibly) reserve Germany for Horizon 6, and the files I've shown were leftovers they forgot to remove? I'm not sure how credible Forza World is, but here's a post on their Instagram regarding what I just mentioned.

I guess it would depend on how long these have been there, but this is an amazing find. Honestly I'm all for FH6 in Germany, it'd explain the "highly requested" setting thing from prior leaks. Not having speed limits on certain roads is a heck of a drug for folks.

The particular archive where this texture reside hasn't been touched/updated since 2023. The specific date being the time i have to reinstall the game due to some issues. The archive itself are filled with a lot of test textures and leftover as far back to Forza Horizon 2. So its kind vague what is used for, possibly just for testing of some kind. The plate itself has a Stuttgart symbol.

This is probably the most Occam's Razor-ey theory I've heard--Mexico was designed around the Eliminator, after all. Maybe FH6 was initially slated to be set in Germany but Martin Brown (who I've always felt to be more of an average games industry executive producer tbh) believed in the Eliminator's potential as a unique potential alternative to Fortnite and suggested moving it to a more diverse locale as part of a seemingly studio-wide effort to make the game more of a live service.

But I think the evidence lines up for FH6 being set in Germany more than these license plates would suggest, now that I think about it. Ever since livestreams ended with Horizon Track Day, a vast majority of the cars they've added have been from German, or at least German-owned, manufacturers:

Horizon Track Day: The four Porsche 992 911s, of course
Horizon Holidays Mix-up: BMW M5 CS, Bentley Flying Spur (Bentley has been owned by VAG through Audi since 1998, so despite being headquartered in England, it's essentially a German-owned manufacturer), Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG--sole exceptions to this being the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon and RZ34 Nismo
Horizon Extreme: DeBerti C10 Slayer, American-built so doesn't count

Out of ten cars added in the three months since livestreams ended, including Horizon Track Day, the Series they ended on, seven of them were either German or produced by manufacturers owned by German automotive groups. Horizon Extreme has obviously thrown a wrench into this, but I still suspect that the Slayer was left out of DeBerti's representation in FH5 because of a stubborn prior owner--though this suspicion largely depends on its model ID in the files, so it may be invalid. Midnight Muscle probably stands as the biggest question mark in all this--that Series title implies American cars--but considering that the Developer Direct falls on the same day this Series's Spring events start, which is roughly around when we've been getting newsletters, perhaps we could expect German GTs coming in to celebrate an FH6-set-in-Germany announcement?

The issue around the next location has become much more complex because we've also had a big selection of Korean, Chinese and JDM cars added. Especially as Japan is the most requested location.

Oh yeah, absolutely. My counterargument here is, a lot of Japan's representation in the live service has been from '90s cars or older--outside of the post-facelift variants of the 86, the RZ34s, the new model WRXs and the Yaris, there really hasn't been much in the way of truly spectacular JDM additions from the modern day, whereas we basically just got a whole heap of cutting-edge German performance cars. Not to mention, we haven't seen a single Chinese or Korean car since Modern Horizons back in June, which is surprising considering how hard PG was pushing both those countries previously.

Besides that, I think Germany was also well-thought-of as a potential Horizon location, mostly because of its contributions to both motorsport and rally, and because the Autobahn (among other roads in Germany) doesn't have a speed limit--just because Japan is "the most requested" location doesn't mean there aren't locations that are also highly requested, if not just as much as Japan.
