The bland and boring Golf R, and another Porsche 911 in the Car Pass... I have sincerely wasted my money.

The better cars are in the "Playlist".

How can you post all of those and NOT post the Nissan Sentra SE-R.
Fixed that for you.
I would be extremely happy if forza horizion added a lot more customisable body parts for most of the cars. After all it is basically a street racing version of forza genre
Not only will it require licenses to feature these dress-up parts and body kits, but it also requires more modeling work and data to implement on these cars. Not only that, these customization options will also change the physics of the cars as well considering the downforce and extra weight they have.

Will they include BMW iX xDrive50,Cadillac Lyriq,Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle,Fisker Ocean,Genesis GV60,Ford F-150 Lightning,GMC Hummer EV Pickup (EV³ˣ),Hyundai IONIQ5,Kia EV6

Well, as a Mexican let me tell you that PG nailed the most authentic detail of Mexico:
Sillas.jpg

Those plastic chairs... every home in Mexico, from the wealthiest mansion to the humblest shanty has one (or many) of those! :D

The representation of the road infrastructure and signage is fairly accurate too... except the murderous potholes... and the speed bumps... :yuck:

Now seriously, I'm thankful that the game developers focused on the majesty of our landscapes, and honored both the Prehispanic and colonial past.
And regarding the lack of Mexican designed cars... well, we don't have many to begin with! We do have probably the most varied collection of brands for sale, and yes, we already have Chinese MG dealerships around.

Because you made this remark when the Chinese cars got revealed not before and not later.
Well, it would have been hard to do it before three new Chinese cars were revealed, because there would have been no Chinese cars and one Mexican one.

But that's not really the point. The point is you're apparently trying to make it some weird political/discrimination issue when my post said nothing of the sort:

I'm not excited for the Chinese cars but some of you guys are just incredible. Is this some political issue? Should Chinese players be discriminated just because born in China?
My post quite clearly highlighted the fact that the game is set in Mexico yet, as of this S4 update, will have more Chinese cars than Mexican ones:
Just scratching my head on this one...

... but does this mean that at the end of S4, FH5 - which is set in Mexico - will have more Chinese cars (3) than Mexican cars (1), or have I miscounted?
I don't know why you're trying to make it about something other than a weirdly unrepresentative car list and car list expansion strategy after two successive games where the local car culture was part of the ethos.

I'am not trying to make it sound like something else. I just asked you if this is a political issue.
Look even if the game lack in Mexican cars there's no reason not to include cars from other countries. I guess is just a coincidence you brought this issue with Chinese cars reveal. Even if it's not you having an issue with Chinese cars in the first place. You did however brought this up in this tread about those cars, which is curious at least. You obviously didn't said anything when the other cars got announced.

Except you do it again in this very same post:

Almost every single one of the other cars is an FH4 refugee - and there's enough people complaining about cars being cut from FH5 only to be re-added on the Playlist as it is.

I brought it up in this thread about these cars because it's literally the point; adding three new Chinese-market cars to a game set in Mexico which doesn't get them and already has a severe lack of Mexican-market cars is a very strange move for a series that has, since 2015, majored on celebrating the car parc of the countries in which it's set.

The issue is the absence of Mexican-market cars, as already thoroughly explained, not whatever -ism you want to try to paste over the top of it by reading stuff that isn't there.

Maybe you're used to reading racism everywhere, but this is GTPlanet, not Reddit or Facebook/Twitter. We don't tolerate racism or racists.

Oh, and I already removed two posts from this thread that were pretty racist, and banned the user, so...

I'm looking forward too them, the more diversity the better. I'd rather have them than pretty much majority of American motors in the game :) but hey that's good for Americans, so why the big hoohaa about Chinese cars being added. Probably down too dislike for the Chinese and current situation in the world. people should look at ther own country 1st .

Would not be suprised if I receive an instant ban when the season goes live regarding my Free Hong Kong and Winnie the Pooh liveries..

Joking aside, we lose Fiat, Lancia & Alfa and recieve this communist garbage from T10..
That's on the artist formerly known as FCA Italy, not PGG. If you want I can walk to their HQ and lodge a complain on your behalf? It's a 15-minute walk from where I live.

In the meanwhile, I think PGG will keep adding vehicles they can actually negotiate a license for. Today, this category includes cars from SAIC, and not Alfas or B13 Tsurus (which Nissan would probably like you to forget ever existed) or Dodge Ramchargers (which are also a Stellantis vehicle, and we haven't gotten any new Chrysler or PSA car in FH5 either - I gotta wonder, at this point, if the problem is just with FCA Italy).

As for the cars added in the next playlist... Heh. Would've rather had the spanking-brand-new MG 6 Pro than the old-and-outdated MG 3 we're getting. I wonder why the latter was choosen - surely the newest flagship model would be a better representative of the current MG lineup?

The reason why MG3 was chosen is simple.
They had been planning to add this car for several years. And now that model has finally seen the light of day. That's all.

It was probably a few years ago, and I don't remember the details, but I think it was around FH3 that the MG3 was confirmed in the Forza Horizon series game files.

The upcoming Gran Turismo 7 does have Alfa, Lancia and Fiat/Abarth though so I’m not sure how exactly Microsoft has missed the ball on this one. I assume perhaps Sony’s existing contract simply ran longer than the one from Microsoft? I remember that during summer when PGG did the car audio livestream there was the Lancia Stratos well represented: in-game, for recording in real life and Mike Brown even picked the car out as his favourite one in regards to sound. Fast forward to launch…. those brands were missing. 😕

They may have negotiated a deal in advance, before the big reshuffling in Corso Giovanni Agnelli. Or they may have sealed the deal recently, I don't know if FCA Italy has sorted itself out yet - and perhaps PGG is also scheduling the return of Alfa, Lancia and Abarth as we speak.
Or PD may be showing those cars in their promotional materials, hoping they'll be able to get something worked out before the launch of the game, just as PGG apparently did. AFAIK there is no official Gran Turismo 7 car list, so that's also possible (albeit unlikely).

And since you mentioned the Stratos - let's not forget that it took a while for them to patch out references to Lancias in the Accolades, and to Alfa Romeo in the credits.

It's hard to say with licensing, but it could very well be that PD licenses on a per game basis while T10 does it on a timed basis (hence why their games get delisted like clockwork).

It's also not even a guaranteed thing if a car shows up in promotional material, after all Lotus was in GT Sport up until the moment the full version released. Interestingly that also occurred shortly after a merger and was kind of the reverse as the newly acquired Geely brands appeared in FM7 but not GTS.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:
