There's a youtube video of that lap:

The car directly infront is the Hoonigan Mustang but that car directly to the left in the picture I'm not certain about. Maybe someone else can tell what it is.

You mean the Chevrolet Oreca FLM02?

No, the one in the pic a few posts back, it creeps up on the left around the 22 second mark in the video. It's only on the screen for a couple of seconds but it looks like a normal road going saloon.

It doesn't even look like it was modeled right

Did you try pausing and looking at the race leaderboard?

Haven't found a leaderboard in the video - the player doesn't seem to ever pause, and the video cuts off as soon as the race's over. Methinks what happened is that there was a first leak, T10 ordered everybody with a review copy to uninstall "disk 2" and avoid showing any potentially compromising info. But it's all guesswork at this point... Guesswork T10 is basically forcing us to do. Damn it, why do they have to be more ambiguous than Israel with its nukes? Gah.

For what it's worth, nobody has a review copy yet. All of the preview access so far has been at private events on Xbox One X hardware. You can tell as none of the Forza "influencers" are using their Gamertags in any of the footage, and all of them only had about an hour of recording time.

Review codes most likely won't be sent out until digital pre-loads begin. For Xbox games a pre-order can be unlocked before the release date if you are given a second "pre-order unlock code" from the publisher.

Oh. I thought they must've had sent review copies - hence why we had some earlier footage showing certain cars (like the Stinger, the Fiat 124, the Porsche 804, etc.) which have disappeared later on (with the incriminated footage itself disappearing from Youtube). Now that you mention it, none of the people posting early Forza footage is using their Gamertag.

This however leaves us with a question: how could they cock up a closed event so badly? Best-case scenario, they've got a good chunk of the day one pack leaked already, and that was after they scrambled to avoid this exact thing from happening after the huge FH3 pre-release leaks. At this point I'll either have to believe the footage showing cars not in the list in the game are doctored, or that T10 is doing this on purpose.

P.S. oh, btw: the 804 shows up in Xbox On footage as a placeholder car, too. Day one DLC, perhaps?

Hoping to see some more up to date GT cars such as the Mercedes AMG GT3, Audi R8 LMS, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 or Mustang GT4 but we'll probably see them in DLC

I saw that and wondered: Why is there a Ford in a classic formula race :P Might be Day One DLC or just a development build with a placeholder as it's not ready for release?

That looks an awe full lot like a 2017+ Fusion Sport... because race car lol.

It's still sportier than the 360-era Placeholder Jetta... Which of course a lot of people saw a lot more often, because back then you had to buy a car pack in order to get the necessary assets.

No you just had to download the free car that came with each pack... Exception being the Porsche DLC on FM4, it was Jetta for everyone who didn't bought it.

Here's the "Buy Car" icon extracted from the demo. Still dunno why it's a 997 Turbo if it's not in the game.

EDIT: There's some interesting stuff in the demo files... is it okay to post?

After your findings with FH3, you've definitely got my curiosity here.
I'll take that as a yes, then :P

So far I've found (and bear in mind these could be placeholders, old-gen content, anything):
- A thumbnail for the RUF RT12S and older Panamera (probably FM4)
- A thumbnail for the Falken Porsche 911 (991) RSR
- Textures for a 1978 #1 Porsche 935 (which upon Googling seems to be a Martini-liveried Moby Dick)
- A "Fast & Furious" multiplayer hopper with some kind of widebody Challenger (2015) as the thumbnail

I'll add more as I go.

Very interesting. The RUF stuff might have been placed in there in the early stages of development, before they got the deal done with Porsche...

That'd be the "Moby Dick" Porsche that, IIRC, won that year's Silverstone 6 Hours. That'd be an interesting choice... Of course they were going to add some form of the 935 at some point, but I was expecting them to be more interested in the "short tail" 935/77 than in a car that never raced in the IMSA circuit. Depending on how the PI system's been adjusted, it could also be our low P-class mystery car - although I find it more likely that it'd sit just twenty or thirty PPs above the other Group 5 cars which were already in FM6.

That being said, I'm already reading too much into it. The demo's likely based on their earliest builds and full of all sorts of meaningless clutter - like thumbnails for the RUF and the gen 1 Panamera.

Any content pointing to an Alfa Romeo Giulia, a Fiat 124 or a Chevy ZR2 in the gamefiles, too?

None of those are referenced, but bear in mind that a lot of 100% confirmed cars aren't in these files either. For example, there isn't a single mention of the 911 GT1 Strassenversion that I can find, but it's still in the game.
