Forza Motorsport 7: Leagues

Do you guys still get rewards from leagues? For 2 Sundays in a row now I have gotten an error message when I wanted to join the league. It works half a day later but I do not get the reward pop up when I join.

Missed that driver gear last weekend and that Lamborghini this weekend.

Turn 10 should fix their servers, even Forzathon and rivals has been giving problems today.

I've missed out on league rewards (both series and season), Forzathon prize and Forza weekly rewards over last month because of server issues. Either I receive them or I don't.

I've already lost hope that this game is ever going to get fixed. Game has been out for a year, and it seems that every time there's an update, there's also a slew of new bugs. Basically, more they try to fix it, more they will break it.

Since I already have every car (except Raptor FE) in the game and 60M credits, I won't get upset over missing cars, credits or suits. I'm upset that I got suckered in paying 100€ for Ultimate Edition of this lemon of a game, though.

I hope that when FM8 comes out, I'll still remember all grief and irritation this game has caused for both me and community, and not buy it.

I also bought the $100 Ultimate version. But I don't feel that way. Sure there have been some glitches, and a few other issues with the way they have distributed Cars, Driver Gear, prizes etc. (repeats and duplicates). But overall, the game is still fun. Nearly 800 cars that are fun to modify and drive and so many ways to race them on so many tracks. I have been playing this game nearly exclusively since the release, and really haven't gotten bored. I also have all the cars, and about 107 million CR, and about 75% of all the driver gear, and only missing few of the badges. Not much more to collect, and yet I am still playing. I don't think the experience has been THAT bad.

I think it depends how devoted you are to it. What you described is pretty much how I was experiencing FM6 from launch in September 2015 until April 2016. I had everything collected in the game, even all 5 or 6 of the different pre-order cars from various shops and all the promotion cars (Pringles & something for the 2017 Ford GT) But the introduction of unachievable unicorns (for my skill level) broke my "complete" game. Call it OCD if you want but it pissed me off so bad that even to this day it still leaves a very sour taste when I think about Turn 10.

Fast forward to today, I'm not exclusively into racing games anymore. I enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassins Creed Origins, Battlefield 1 and Far Cry 5 a lot and I'm eagerly looking forward to FH4, RDR2, BFV and AC:embarrassed:dyssey. Racing games aren't even 50% of my gaming time anymore, but I still buy them when they interest me (FH3, FM7, GT:S, NFS:Payback, The Crew 2 are all part of my catalogue).

Having that said, I enjoy the Horizon series a lot more than the Motorsport series so really looking forward to FH4 at the end of the month.

@AlienDeathRay I enjoy playing FM7. If I didn't, I wouldn't have logged in 30,000 miles in 1000+ races. But (and it's a huge but) there has been way, way too much unnecessary drama and issues with this game.

Right at the beginning there was the VIP debacle. Instead of double rewards for VIPs as initially advertised, we got five 100% VIP mod cards. T10 did fix it, but how long did it take? A month? Two months? Sure, we got a cool million and some FE cars as consolation, but T10 messed up, lied about it, and eventually had to admit that they messed up.

There were multiple issues with paints and paint schemes. Racing against 23 grey cars is why 4k UHD TV is a must-have. At least there were more than 50 shades of grey... Then there was the paint shop issue, where it was possible rip off other people's work and pass it along yours.

Finally we did get Forzathons, but they were broken. Achievements didn't register, and we had to jump through hoops to get prizes. Even if they registered, it still wasn't certain that you'd receive your prizes. Oh yeah, one Forzathon event lasted a full month. When T10 realized how broken Forzathons were, they had to pull them for an extended period.

Kudos to T10 for fixing Forzathons. I love Forzathons the way they are now. I'm finally getting bang for my buck for being a VIP and buying a car pass. I love Forzathon concept in general, because I'm out of my comfort zone racing cars and tracks I probably wouldn't otherwise drive.

Server issues have been an ongoing saga since mid-July, but it took T10 over a month to acknowledge them. I've contacted support on couple of occasions on various issues, but never heard back. Customer service and support is atrocious. Heck, even R* got back at me in matter of hours...

I deal with enough drama at work on daily basis, so I don't want to do that on my own time. When I want to wind down I want to able log in and play the damn game. Not go through a 30-minute drill resetting routers, modems and consoles in specific order, and still not being certain if it works or not.

But when this game works properly, it looks beautiful and I do really enjoy it.

Another strange thing they do.
At any given time, you'll only have ghost racing, or no ghost racing.

Since T10 can't be bothered to ghost lapped cars, I'm absolutely done with non-ghost racing. I've had at least 5 times in 20 races where someone lapped just parks to the side and waits for the leader to drive into them. (Leader being me)
Who the hell wants to play that game? Not I.

Hopefully the ghost races are timed from 12am-4am for me instead of last week's 4-8am timing.

I took a peek at the upcoming rewards for Leagues. Nothing really to look forward to. I think I am just gonna let my rank drop. Which is actually quite difficult. I join a race, lag behind, pause and then quit, you do lose some points. Keep doing that daily and you can still collect the daily 20,000 reward. Then you have the monthly lose points thing. I think I'll just do time trials and free play races, and a few of the Rivals.

I tried leagues out for the first time tonight. I was pleasantly surprised, it's pretty good. There's a bit of argy-bargy but the racing was pretty solid. I had a good six or seven races straight in the Porsche 718 just because it was going so well. Reminds me a bit of the old days with GT5P online. Ahh, memories... ;)

The only bad thing about the Ghost leagues are the corner cutters. You can't give them a spin when they cut every corner on the track to beat you. And they know it, so they just keep doing it. Then everyone else starts doing it so they can keep up. They need to take care of the "corner cutting" issue in the leagues. Give them a penalty or something? Take the win away. When a ghost league goes to a track notorious for corner cutting, I just quit out. Yas Marina is the WORST!
