Tried all the cars and definitely noticing the sound improvements. The Lambo Sian sounds more accurate then it did with the previous update and the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS sounds more beefier in cockpit view. Thats also the trend that im seeing is all the new cars in this update sound not only accurate but a lot more meaty in cockpit view which is great. The GR Yaris and the Elantra N TCR are my new favorites plus the Elantra has a unique blow off valve sound. The TRD Camry also has that nice high rev V6 growl. Car wise this is a decent update cant complain.

I think the game is fantastic and I’m loving every minute I spend in it which is rather a lot these days, on my DD Wheel it feels just completely dialled in. Not a fan of the time barred events but that is for another discussion, it looks glorious and I’m always finding plenty of full lobbies in Multiplayer even though they’re mostly dumb, thankfully I qualify quite high up and avoid the carnage unfolding behind me… it’s not a hardcore Sim and I’m thankful for that, you still have to drive correctly but it’s most of all enjoyable, which is exactly how a game like this should be..FUN

It kinda hits that Goldilocks sweet spot between fun and approachability and hardcore realism, doesn't it? It's a pretty tough balance but for the most part I think they hit it.

Warning, you can expect the new MX5 to flood Multiplayer lobbies as it is waaaay overpowered and needs a nerf.

The suits will be easy to pick up. The car choice is a good mix in my opinion. @Scaff should be happy ;)

The Valentine rivals event is a fun addition.
The Rival improvements are also a good idea, although I've already seen this in action with the current month's spotlight rivals events. No longer do I have a crazy jump in objective times caused by the 👽 in my friends list!

Unfortunately, the bulk of the update = 34 races x 8-10 minutes for 2 cars, as with every month. I've REALLY had enough of FOMO generally at this point, to the point I'm not actually ENJOYING playing games, so have decided to deliberately NOT do any significant "chores" in ANY game going forward. If I play FM23 going forward, it will be Advanced Free Play only, since there's no actual Career Mode in this game.

Im with you on the career mode it is becoming boring as hell now. It's the same ol same ol and really wish by now they would have ended the whole time gated and FOMO material.

Some nice touches and ideas would be the day an update drops we have access to ALL the races for the month. Reward cars should also go to the showroom automatically. Then allow us to adjust each races lap length, allow us to pick different cars each series without having to stick with one car, and mix up the race types. Some ideas could be 1 endurance race, a few shorter 3-5 lappers, a time trial, a passing challenge and a manufacturers showdown. Put some damn creativity into these career mode races T10. Still keep the open class series too though.

Basically all I'm saying is we need more events per update, more freedom and flexibility in career mode and no more time gated races.

FOMO only disadvantages new players because they can't go back and play the old series. If you've been playing from launch then you're complaining about getting new content every month for the last 18 months which is crazy.

The alternative being what they did in FM7 where they gave you every series available from the start (with no new series via DLC), you finish everything in a month or so, then you've got no reason to go back to them because there's nothing new. And your way to protest is to not play the new content? Why?

I love this format - I don't need a fake story line for a career mode, I just want to race with new cars. This format means I play 4 out of 5 weeks between every update which I've done for 18 months now. FM7 (and every FM before that), I finished the career mode and then never touch it again.

Isn't that what the Free Race mode is for? To make all those adjustments to race the races you want? I'm no expert but I've never seen a career racing game that allows you to do the career your way - yes F1 allows you to reduce the lap length but you know what I mean?

I'm glad they've done away with passing challenges and knocking over bowling pins - happy just to race - and love being able to decide where I start on the grid. A great addition.

To put it simply. I have a limited time to play games, which is split between more than one game. For the last 17 months, the time available for FM23 has been spent ALMOST ENTIRELY playing FOMO races and FOMO time trials and very little else. I have somewhere around 250 cars which i would like to drive and get some to level 50. But I can't do that until I've finished doing 34 races.

I don't have enough playing time to do both so I have to make a choice personally. If I ONLY played FM23, I would have time to do both, but sticking to one game is not enjoyable for me. Hence, I'm not enjoying the game as things stand.

For the last 17 months, there has also been concurrent FOMO events to do in FH5 each week to get the additional cars. Add together FH5+FM23 FOMO, and the occasional run on Weekly Challenges in GT7 and most of my regular playtime each week has gone.

As for FM7, there are 834 cars to drive either in Free Play or replaying Career events such as the Open events or more specific types. I can pick a random car using Kudosprime and drive it anytime. I don't have to wait until I've played 34 FOMO races each month before I can do that. I prefer that approach, but I entirely understand that's just my own personal feelings about things, and everyone should do what they prefer and enjoy the most.

As the saying goes, to each their own. If you prefer the current FM23 setup, that's fine of course and I'm honestly glad you're enjoying the game. There is a lot here to enjoy (physics, graphics, car selection and the Advanced Free Play options are good [I just don't have time to utilise that anywhere near as much as I'd like].

I hope that explains my reasoning better. But I'll repeat - everyone should do what they like most, of course.

yep, the current system they are using is keeping me engaged since like the driving but the way I play this game would be very different if the monthly events/rewards were not on a time limit, and if the free play mode allowed me to set up my own event series with practice/qualifying/grid setting. those two tweaks to the current system would make any of my disappointment about the rate or content of updates go away. in my case, today's update is not that interesting to me from a glance, but I am glad to see others are happy with it and turn 10 are not wasting their time with it from that point of view.

They should have kept the races. Your forced to have to do these or else you miss out on content. Horrible. All the races are is settings for a free race anyways with a championship points scale. That doesn't mean anything anyways in the grand scheme of things.
Builders Cup? What the hell happened with that? People for some reason wanted to fight me on this but I still stand on the idea that you should have to place podium in the championship. Builders Cup. Why aren't they forcing us to do races where we have to use a C class car to race against A Class cars. Build your C class car, race A class cars, get on the podium. You can even turn the AI down if you want but at least you accomplished building a car to compete with higher grade cars and placed. (one example, can you imagine if they had a ton of these with all sorts of different class scenarios?)
I don't understand it.

"in March, you can look forward to a Velocity-themed update featuring additional new-to-Motorsport cars and events that demonstrate the intense speed, horsepower and cornering prowess of some of the world’s most cutting-edge cars"

Definitely a supercar/mid-2010s to 2020s GT/Prototype catchup update, or a mix of both, tho I'll wait for the playtests to come on Friday and make a better guess on the theme.

A couple of cars that come to my mind is the Czinger 21C from FH5, hopefully the McMurtry Sperling this time around, the 992 GT3 RS could fit into this too, Mosler MT900 GT3, Alpine A110R, Chiron SS, FL5 Type R, and VW ID.R. I wouldn't rule out a GT/Prototype car of some kind too.
The Czinger, MT900 GT3 and the 992 GT3 RS are good candidates, though I think that the 992 GT3 R will be the perfect fit.

My problem personally is not the FOMO - I've been quite happy with the FH4 and FH5 FOMO for the last 5 years...

The big problem for me is the amount of time required for 2 cars... Let's say it's around 300 minutes, which is 5 hours. That means ~75 minutes per week and the end result is 2 cars.

In FH5 each new car was often around 20 minutes per week. In worst cases 45 minutes. So that's between 25% and 60% of the time required in FM23, for at least 4 cars. Just think about it for a sec: At least double the cars in (usually far less than) half the time.

I do appreciate that FM23 throws most "new" cars straight into the auto show and only 2 are exclusive FOMO, but usually the most interesting new-to-Motorsport cars are FOMO-locked and the reward-per-time feels really poor.

I totally understand only having limited time to play games - I basically do the "34 races" and play COD multiplayer for a week before the next update comes out - I don't have time to play much else. But if you're doing the weekly stuff for FH5 as well as FM23 I can see how your time is limited.

Having said that, you're still complaining about two developers creating too much weekly content for presumably your two favourite games - we should be happy that we're spoiled for choice :)

There has been no signs whatsoever that T10 plans to throw in the towel. Quite on the contrary they mentioned the second half of the year in their latest blogpost:

"While we are working through our plans for the second half of the year, we hope you have fun playing the updates we’re working on for the next few months..."

Also, remember that T10 is the main developer of the Forza Tech engine and without it both Forza Horizon and Fable would be without a game engine.
As long as Playstation have Gran Turismo I'm sure that Microsoft will want to have their counterpart in the form of Forza Motorsport.

I'm not sure whether or not it is the cause for the slow down in added tracks, but according to Playground Games themselves both them and T10 are giving assistance to Panic Button with the port to PS5:
"The PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 5, developed by Panic Button in partnership with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games...". (From the article about the PS5 port on Forza.net)

Lastly for those individuals that are only here to spread doom and gloom I highly recommend that you hang out on the official Forza Forums instead. People love preaching about the downfall of the franchise over there 😂

If I could find a way to increase the text size on GTPlanet while using my phone, I'd never go to the Forza Forums. If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be very appreciated.

As for FM.net, that site will knock the passion for playing FM out of me. For the past few weeks I haven't been doing anything but checking the photo/livery thread and occasionally reading the coming update threads. Everything else... They can have it. I was even convinced that Turn 10 was calling it quits until I read about them assisting in the PS5 Forza Horizon 5 port. Now, I'm just keeping quiet over there, and playing the wheels off of Forza Motorsport while having a blast.

Yes the TRD is from the US market.

it is sold in japanese market but i dont think the TRD version was sold, in Japan all sport models carry the GR (Gazoo Racing) brand

The camry TRD is missing the wing from the bodykit which is available in FH5.
i am sure this is a bug if the bodykit is there, i recommend you to post about it in the support area of the Forza Forums

Reward cars should also go to the showroom automatically
i think that would be better have the reward cars show up after a 1 month or two, so the reward car thing doesnt llose its value

I do agree, it surprises me they havent doubled down on doing the career being like FM4 and then addeding non-FOMO events as times goes on, likely they dont do it beacuse they feel a fear people can skip playing the game each month and thus prefering to play each 2 months or more

sadly to put end to this system, we or them need to find a GUARANTEED way to keep players coming each month while keeping the FOMO part out

the idea died when people started to complain about the level system so much thata it virtually doesnt exist anymore

The Cadillac CTS-V Wagon that got added in FH5 this past winter got added in this update as well. It's in free play. Wasn't listed in the update page.
You know whats crazy I was doing some test drives in freeplay earlier and went over to Cadillac. I saw this and literally sat for 30 seconds racking my brain as to when this got added and couldn't figure it out. So I figured it was in an update from last year lol. Nice addition regardless though.
