it would be a shame if the play-tests were pared back because people can't keep things private.
just lock it to Xbox, disable print screen for the insiders and put watermarks in case they try to take photos of screen with mobile cameras

if someone leak by talk it will be akin to hearsay anyway

Unfortunately, as I noted before to avoid saying too much, that picture looks the way it does for a reason.

I guess the cat is out of the bag, this might be next updates cars plus maybe 2 or 3 more based on the number of cars T10 has been adding lately. This is a solid selection of cars and I guess that means the 992 GT3RS will come sooner than the Porsche update. Liking the Lambo additions though for sure. I will say for a "Velocity" tour some of these additions are a little weird though. The 2020 Oreca 07 performance wise is no different than the 2017 we have now. Why they couldn't add a 2021 or an Oreca 03 is beyond me but oh well. The 1975 Nissan is another oddity but still new to FM so can't complain much.

From a perspective of someone who doesn't know how game development works, I may be exaggerating, but if the sound of cars has already been added, the update is practically ready, no?
Possibly, but that doesn't always mean said cars will be added. The files might be resued for something else before the cars are added, they might be pre-loading them in anticipation of getting rights clearance to use the cars (which may not have happened yet), and as T10 has done in the past they might be putting stuff in either as test data or to throw dataminers off the trail of what's really coming.

  • AI
  • Physics
  • Damage
  • Upgrades and Tuning
  • PI calculations
  • Livery Editor
  • Integration with all game modes
  • Licensor approval
  • Testing
  • Bunch of other stuff

Nothing is “easy” in game dev but the car model and audio are usually the smallest challenge.

For WRC last year the development of cars started around January when the real-life cars were revealed but the cars weren’t released until October in-game.

I'm surprised it took this long for people to just flat out post images from it to be honest.

I think this is why games like SnowRunner moved to the "Public Test Server" (or PTS) for their preview testing, none of the stuff is secret at all so no one can violate anything, and it generates clicks on media stuff for it when YouTubers cover it which can help build hype... although it does kinda "spoil" things at the same time.
It took a while because it seems most actually respect the NDA, this person either doesn't care or didn't read it.

And NDAs are to be respected. If note, the entire Insiders Programme could be at risk which would be a real shame
it clearlly lacks more watermarks and systems to make sure peoplle dont be able to take photos this way
if sports streamings are able to do it, T10 and Xbox is able to do it as well

As somebody that has worked on multiple in-development projects and community betas, it's almost impossible to prevent leaks even if you cover the entire screen in watermarks. All one needs to avoid any built-in limitations is a phone.

If somebody wants something to get out, it'll get out, even if they are willing to risk getting caught.

The pull of short-term internet clout makes people do things.

Heck, Microsoft/Asobo does this with the Flight Sim updates and none of it leaks like here with Forza. Probably more a reflection of the community's demographics

I'm speculating it's possibly the user in question. Just joined, all 3 posts are leaked images with no context. User is Japan based according to their profile, & showed a Japanese-based livery on the SC63 that that person created. I've tried to see if those images were shared anywhere else, but I couldn't find anything personally. I don't know what our forum rules are though, if a member is breaking another party's NDA; @Scaff @Famine.

Wow they're just going full mask off with the leaks, huh? I really hope this doesn't mean that the insider program will be changed for the worse. It wouldn't exactly have hurt us much to wait an extra month(?) just to see the new cars.

The previous few updates have had leaks in discord in various guises, Aus month someone posted a riddle to describe the cars, and mentions of the Elantra TCR were seen last month, also seen pics of the BMW race cars the month before, but they usually got shut-down pretty quick on the Forza discord, the moderators are active enough.

Wow... Looks like I'll never get a certain golden Nissan. I can't drift to save my life.
Assuming it's like all the other updates have been, you won't have to drift, you can just buy it. Other than the FOMO cars, all the other cars in the Challenge Hub so far have been available in the regular "buy cars" menu, you just get them for free if you do the "challenge" for them.

The FOMO cars have the "do career" or "do multiplayer" options so it isn't one of the FOMO cars.

All of this is assuming both the screenshot is real and that nothing has changed with this update, of course.

3 surprise cars.
User is from Japan.
🤔is this Kaz's new silhouette?🤔
Shouldn't this be in the GT7 "February 2025 update" thread

I still hope they find the actual culprit and hanmer ban them though! Assuming the images are genuine.

i am sure it is likely that is a place holder since it is from a test series
Placeholders wouldn’t have proper styling, they are normally blank boxes with FPO or similar placeholder watermarks.

This is an error (which isn’t a big concern) and assuming somebody reported it internally it’ll be fixed before release.

Let's hope its fixed. Doesn't give us much hope for the Porsha update though
