Xbox or PC? On PC and Nvidia GPU the new driver profile made DLSS (DLAA, in particular) better than the default TAA solution.

Yup. Already using the transformer DLSS. I play the Steam version at 5780x1080 and I use Reshade for additional post processing on my end. Up until early March, I used Nvidia's game filters.

With the new DLSS going down to the "Balanced" option is still relatively clear of DLSS artifacts. That made running RTGI at 60fps palatable on my PC. Although, I still prefer the highest FPS I can get so, I tend to leave all RT off. Thanks to the new DLSs I don't have to settle for either a blurry mess or a slide show when running RTGI.

For me, locking the FPS to 83 (half of my 165 Hz monitor) and Full reflections + RTAO is what's been working the best, and DLAA since the transformer mode has been available. Nvidia's filters were nice at some point, but I don't really need them anymore.

You'll have to excuse me for being ignorant, how do you enable the transformer mode in Nvidia's drivers/filters?
No, it's not a filter, is an option in the Nvidia App. Forza Motorsport should be recognized/listed in your game library, then you select graphics, FM, then scroll down to driver configuration. From there you can override the DLSS model and that is where you can choose the Preset K (transformer mode).

This problem was completely absent this morning so I hope the update's done something to rectify it for good.
Went back into Open Class Tour and it still takes a minute or so to give you a lap estimate. Guess they had the estimates for their featured cars preloaded but still have to calculate them for others. Oh, well.

Thanks for the advice. I don't tend to bother with the Nvidia App for graphics settings because I prefer to do it in-game. I've switched them over (disabling the RTGI), and benchmarking shows at 60fps almost constantly, will see how it goes in normal play.

Not sure what’s happened or if I did something in the settings but tried the spotlight rivals in the Koenigseg 1:1 and it just will not go round corners at all, just understeer city, tried altering settings in game and on my CSL DD control panel and nothing I do can make it corner, am I missing something obvious?

Can't remember everything I did but make sure to zero out the suspension geometry setup and also make sure pressures are within range. Some of these new cars they add are perfect with temperatures/pressures and others are really underpressured.

Outside of that, start lowering front values and raising rear values of ARB, Spring, Dampers as needed. Also if the LSD is adjustable, see where you're understeering, on power or off power, and adjust those. I can't remember what parameters are adjustable and not at my rig.

Just learned how tuning properly and for comfort seems to have a lot more impact than I expected in Forza Motorsport. I experimented and I turned a Mini Cooper into a high power RWD and I couldn't drive it to save myself, then I changed the setting all the way to AWD and less HP and lots of grip and turn in, totally different machine, loved it.

Finally did the Sebring P2 race, really like this format of a single long race. I ended up doing several practices over the last few weeks testing all racing tire variants before finally completing the race, which made it very enjoyable. As usual setting the AI was a little annoying, it said I would win easily with AI 6 but said I would finish P6-7 with AI 7. I ended up choosing 7 anyways and doing a two stop on hards, which ended up being a pretty easy win anyways since the AI all did 3 stops but it made for a more interesting race for sure, especially trying to beat the fastest car coming out of the pitlane. Good fun, but it just made me think how I probably wont try this race again before it disappears. This and many of the previous weekly event races I would do over and over trying different cars and strategies if they were permanently available in the game... I suppose you can recreate them in free play but then no practice/qualifying and setting the grid.

Also been watching long beach IMSA and Indycar this weekend and really missing that circuit in this game.

I always used to dread racing Long Beach in FM7 but would love to try it out with the new driving physics after surprisingly pleasant results with Nordschleife and the Tilkedromes.

Not sure they can do much about the AI carnage around the carousel but I live in hope should the track be released for FM2023.

With the GTP and GTD additions made into the game I think that Long Beach would be wonderful to drive on. Just seeing the Porsche 963, BMW M Hybrid V8 etc drive there makes me want to replicate it in Forza. It’s a great intense track and I really hope the IMSA calendar ultimately becomes complete in Forza :)

It's crazy how close we are to having the complete IMSA calendar. Just a couple more additions T10, please!

And it’s not just the tracks, the car roster is also coming together at great pace: we got the BMW M Hybrid M8 and M4 GT3 in January, the Lamborghini SC63 in March, and just now the Porsche 992.1 GT3 R. That’s 2 GTPs and 2 GT3s in just 4 months. Fingers crossed they continue adding the modern endurance machinery at this pace 🙂

Not to mention the 963 last year amd the V series R already being included. All we need now for GTP cars really is the ARX-06 although the Valkyrie would be nice too but it's too new, maybe a chance for the end of the year though. Then for GT3 cars it's the Mustang, 296 gtb, and the newer Aston Martin Vantage that's left.

Nah, no Long Beach at night previously. I would love to have it back, or any other real world street track for that matter. I love driving realistic street circuits in racing games, such a different experience to normal road courses.
Rio had some rotten corners but also some sections which were fun to drive. NYC had great atmosphere but the layout was pretty uninspiring and Tilke like as I recall.

I didn't play Forza Motorsport 2005 but I think its NY layout was less long and thin and closer to GT4's. I'm not sure anyone likes haring down Broadway only to run smack-bang into a near-180° hairpin regardless of how pretty the trackside scenery is.

I really like the way GRiD did the fictional city track thing or for that matter Seattle in GT2-4. But I think the production budgets on all that trackside detail may be beyond what Microsoft could safely manage with their current hire-and-fire employment model.

The above is all based on memory though so if I've got it wrong feel free to rip my post apart.

FM1 IIRC had another, even more extended version of the New York Circuit alongside the normal one. It was pretty impressive imo.

FM1 had the interesting version of NY, after that it was just the stupid "squished rectangle with a tumor" version, that also had an option for a bunch of tirewall chicanes to be added. The chicane version was hilarious, but not good... Although I guess that makes it more interesting/engaging so it was actually kinda better than the chicane-less version that was neither of those things?

We need them to rebuild the Cadillac though, it's very ****ed up. Driving them back to back, it's actually shocking how badly they messed it up, and their attempts to "fix" it through the Spec division BoP by artificially raising front aero and lowering rear aero didn't solve the problem at all (and also only works in public multiplayer) even if it worked a little better for balancing it relative to the other cars (only a little better though).

Would also need the GT3 version of the Corvette but not sure if it's really that important as I'm not sure how different it would actually drive in-game to the GTLM version we have.

You're not wrong the Cadillac V Series R does not drive as good as the other LMDh cars. It's fast and sounds decent but it's driving is weird, very understeery.

Aren't FM1 and Forza Motorsport 2005 the same game? I'm confused. It's the extended layout I was talking about.

The front tires aren't wide enough, even when upgraded, to counteract the steamrollers at the back, so you get understeer and only understeer.
