Not sure if this was posted or not yet because ive been away for 5 days

I bought a brand new 320Gig PS3 on Shift 2s release date because my old 60Gig YLOD the day before. So i noticed my game kept hard freezing, during visual customization, Changing body kits, and always on the same race at the exact same location on lap 3. I remembered owning a game not too long ago where the same type of thing was happening, and the solution to it was, play OFFLINE until they patch the freezing. So i started playing offline 6 days ago, havent had a single hard freeze yet, I know we shouldnt have to play offline to enjoy the game, but like i said, its a temporary fix until they patch it.

Oh yeah, PS, the reason everyones cars feel so floaty, laggy, and twitchy at high speeds, Go into the tuning menu for your car, lower the steering lock, then buy a GT3 car (you can sell it right after), check what its damper (for some reason, all of the cars except the GT3, GT1, GTX, and some Modern A cars have there Dampers all set to 0) and suspenion settings are at, and change your cars settings to the same as the GT3 cars... it worked fine for me and now im enjoying the game more then ever. Hopefully it'll work for you, cause it worked for me!

yeah I have also played ofline and not had too many isues with freezing anymore i may have to try what you said about settings thanks for the info

For what it's worth, since switching to a wireless connection I seem get more freezing - mostly in the customization screens. Im switching back to wire.

I had lots of freezing while driving fast cars on nurnburgring nordschleife - I wasn't even able to complete one lap in a fast car like the fully upgraded Porsche Cayman S (works). I've contacted EA support (norway) and they responded quickly and tried to help, but none of their suggestions worked.

I switched to "bumper cam" today (think that's what it's called - the one where you don't see anything of the car) and haven't had any freezing while driving in this "view"...

(I tried other views as well, and it didn't freeze, but I wasn't able to drive fast in other views, so I had to use the bumper cam for the "long test".)

It would be very interesting if the ones who have problems with freezing in races could try the same and see if it helps.

(Things I tried that did not help:
- reset the ps4 to factory defaults and reinstall shift 2 (including my backed up save game) to a new harddrive
- drive without sound
- lower the temperature
- drive without "HUD")

I also tried deleting my savegame and starting from scratch. That didn't help either. Today it crashed in "bumper view" as well, so I bought a new PS3 and will see if that helps - as soon as it's finished transferring the data to the new ps3...

I was playing whilst eating a slice of pizza and I didn't have a single freeze.

I recommend Good fellas pizza for a smooth gaming experience.

That didn't help either. I think I can safely assume that the game is defective.

Try a total re wire of your house, might be electrical fault.
