I really want to get an old Toyota Truck but I don't know if I can convince my wife I need two 4x4...maybe if I get a 2WD one and lower it she'll be ok

My first car was an 1986 Toyota truck. Had it for 17 years and recently sold it:(

Speaking of Toyotas and offroad. The Ironman Ivan Stewart was my hero as a kid. One of my favorite pictures of all time.

Pulling a truck with the tow strap hooked up to your differential sounds like a really bad idea.

Someone talk me out of selling my IS300 and going for a Tacoma, 4Runner, or Land Cruiser....

I'm not talking you out of anything...

Overlanding is awesome, it's peaceful, it's scenic, and it's only as expensive as you want it to be.

***Side not, southern Utah is way more scenic than northern.

I knew you'd say something like that. Every time I see your Tacoma.... I honestly question myself why I go for a more sporty car as a daily driver when I feel like I'm always worried about how fragile it could be. Dealing with speed bumps, poorly maintained roads, lack of fun driving roads (in Southern Maine), and the toxic local car community.

Overlanding is another thing that I'd love to explore more of and as an amateur photographer, I'd love to document more than just another parking lot. (Feels like that's just about the extent of any car related thing in Maine) It feels like there's so many more opportunities with having a offroad capable vehicle. Though, being a Toyota fanboy, I wish the prices on Toyota 4x4s weren't so ridiculously high.

Forgot to add, I just can't enjoy winter in the IS300. Though I'm not a fan of Jeeps, I did quite enjoy my time in the Cherokee during the winter of 2016.

Another offroader I'd consider is the Lexus GX. (Aka Toyota Land Cruiser Prado) Known all too well to be in a mall parking lot, there's potential with these. They don't seem to be as crazy priced as the Land Cruiser/LX's or Tacoma's. Maybe I should go for that instead...

Damn that's some serious flex you can pull and those are some really beefy tires. Love the rack setup too.
