Standard clean OLR rules apply:

  • All Hard Surfaces are track. This includes rumble strips, concrete, cobbles, etc
  • If your lap gets flagged with the Forza Invalidation Indicator: /!\ Your lap may still count as long as it fits the rest of the listed criteria (i.e. two tires were on/above the track when the /!\ indicator came up)
  • However, if you get the Forza Invalidation Indicator: /!\ at the start of your lap, the lap will not count as you may have gained an unfair advantage at the end of the previous lap
  • Rewind MUST be set to OFF
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible

  • Save your replay and keep it safe for at least 6 weeks after the deadline

Submission And Participation:

When you have verified your lap is clean and the best you can do, visit http://frs.atspace.co.uk/submit.
Fill out each field and click Submit at the bottom to complete the process.

This week's time needs to be submitted before April 23rd by 11:59PM Pacific Standard Time. This is GMT -8 or -7 depending on daylight savings time.

If you encounter any issues with the submission form or process, please send a PM to Terronium-12 or Jump_Ace.

Feel free to post your best times in this thread. You can compare how you stack up with other participants throughout the week by visiting the FRS Weekly Splits Leaderboard (which can be found here: http://frs.forzaplanet.net). Also note the following:

  • You can submit only ONCE (be sure to give it your best effort)
  • Please give it your best effort as sandbagging is highly frowned upon in the Forza Planet community.

Please refer to this Time Calculator Website to properly add multiple times together (when necessary) before submitting your time.

This is a friendly competition open to drivers of all abilities, so start racing and we'll see you in the results :) 👍

FRS Point System:

We have compiled a point system for the FRS organized by division:
Below are some key points on how it works:
  • You get 1 point just for submitting the qualifier run and 2 points just for submitting a time for that week. The better you place for that week, the more points you will receive.
  • Your points will get reset back get 5 points total for being promoted to a higher division.
  • The points will reset every 4 months, completing a 'season'.
  • Once a season ends, the point system will reset back to week 1 using the following week's FRS combo.

Time Verification:

SPECIAL NOTE: When running your qualifier time. Please restart your session every 15 or sooner (10 to 12 laps depending on the track). FM4 will stop recording your replay after (roughly) 15 minutes. Thus, if you run your best lap after it stops recording, it won't count as you can't provide the replay.

Save your replay and keep it at least 6 weeks after submission:

  • Top 1-3 fastest times from each division will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide a replay within 3 days
  • Failure to do so will result in the submitted time being ignored for official registration
  • Video replays are not accepted (i.e. using camera phone, camcorders, etc.)

Submitting And Verifying A Requested Replay:

If a request is made for you to supply a replay, look in the results thread for a "(Replay Required)" to appear next to your name and submitted time. You may also get a PM if a replay hasn't been promptly provided.

Many hands make little work and if you can assist the Race Stewards in verifying each others lap times, it won't go unappreciated. Follow The Guide To Managing FM4 Replays to verify another drivers submitted time.

Remember to mark whether the replay was valid or not in the results thread:

- Clean/Valid Lap
rflagnv1.gif
- Dirty/Invalid Lap
bflagtp3.gif
- DQ'd Lap (only used in the results thread by the Race Stewards)

The code to insert a flag is. Remember to wrap them in an Image Tag;

Dirty/Invalid Lap - http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/745/rflagnv1.gif

Race Stewards Comments:

Remember to stay off the walls and keep at least two wheels on the rumble strips.

Remember to keep at least two tires on the rumble strip and/or within the white lines on the tarmac. Taking a turn too fast that causes you to go into a run-off, dirt, sand, etc. will invalidate your lap.

Because the FRS is a new series, here is a quick run-down of what you need to do to participate:

  1. Run the Registry Qualifier if you haven't yet, which can be found HERE.
  2. Now load up this week's FRS Car and Track Combo. Drive your best, clean lap(s). Post your results in this thread as you progress throughout the week.
  3. Compare your splits with other participants by visiting the FRS Weekly Splits Leaderboard
  4. When you've done your best, submit your time before the above deadline using FRS Submission Form found HERE.
NOTE - Regarding week's submission form, please leave the Division section blank.

If you have any questions, please post them in the Registry Discussion Thread.

Good luck. 👍

Haha, awesome. I didn't have any problems when I tested the combo.

This is my favourite track in the game in reverse. I don't think I've ever rolled a car here on Forza 4, although I do remember them kerbs causing a lot of trouble in Forza 3, should be interesting to see what this car can do here.

I will try to get this one in. Will be only a 10 lapper. Because this weekend is the big swim meet in my sig.

OK, 1:31.913 was what came from approximately 6.5 laps. The car has a lot of traction which makes it quite hard to get that extra bit of turn in for some corners, but it does have plenty of downforce for the faster corners. Replay is in my storefront, I just upload them whenever I set a better time.

I like this car and track combo a lot, gave it a few laps and managed a 1:31.840. Hopefully that isnt considered dirty in FRS standards as I might've bit off a little too much kerb on one of the last few corners, if I put my replay up could someone check it if thats allowed?

If the complex in question lasts fewer than 30 seconds you could always make a movie and put it on Youtube.

Edit: also if you think you'll improve that time in the next week, then who cares if an early lap was dirty :P

It's allowed, (though I'd rather as for volunteers to check repays in the results thread only) but since its early in the week, I'd rather just suggets you to run it again or go by my rule of, if I'm not certain its 100% clean, I have to assume it's dirty.

But I'm sure you will improve the time since it's only Tuesday :)

I think this one of those tracks where the machine and the FRS rules disagree a lot as to what is clean as what is not... Makes keeping track of my fastest lap rather more difficult!

That said, 1:33.981 for starters!

Yeah I just wanted to make sure just in case I dont get more time this week to improve for whatever reason, thanks guys. There's definitely more time to be gained on that track with a little more practice, the last 2 corners are a pain sometimes

This track has a lot of concrete run offs like the double lefts before entering the garage area. That will be considered clean so long as there are no wall touches. Once you exit the garage/pit area and see dirt outside the tarmac, that is where you must keep two + tires on the rumbles/tarmac at all times.

The curbs don't seem to be too bad in this car. But they are giving me trouble. The curbs were very bad to me when I was testing a new race series I want to kick off once I establish a good internet source. The cars just kept rolling.

1:33.250

Leaderboard updated

1:31.385 - Not too sure if I'll have time to improve on that as I have a lot of exams coming up but I should be able to get one or two sessions in.

Leaderboard Updated. And also a quick message from me, I'm not going to be participating in the FRS for a while. The reasons for this are twofold, I signed up for an endurance race over at GTPlanet. Practice is a top priority, so a few sacrifices had to be made. However I'll still be around updating the leaderboard and keeping an eye on the thread. 👍

This makes me sad, although I certainly understand the desire for (extended) wheel to wheel racing. Glad that you can still update the leaderboard. Last night I put in just a few more laps for 1:33.149.

This might be one of the more delicate hot-lap challenges I've ever tried. So many of the corners require a perfect set up, like in the middle where lifting can ruin a lap!

Good luck Darren, I was going to sign up for that when I first saw it but then decided against it because I haven't played GT5 much recently.

So from what I understand about what is considered dirty here, you're good as long as you don't hit any walls or get more than 2 wheels in the grass? If so I'll just hot lap like I usually do without worrying too much about my wheel going a little bit over the white line.

/\ That's pretty much it. While I love a good penalty system, having a penalty system that is too strict is just as bad as one that is too relaxed.

Darren, no prob, come as go as you want you are always welcome. And thank you for stepping up on the leaderboard. If things go as I'm hoping they will, maybe in a few months (???) we could get hooked up with an automatic LB similar to what the WRS has at GTPlanet now. But I can't make any promises on that unfortunately.

Excellent work on the leaderboard this week guys, thank you!

Jerome

The leaderboard ain't fully automatic over at GTP. They use a WRSFetchbot to update the leaderboard in real time. We probably need an FRSFetchbot, as it will make ours automatic.

Hey guys, quick question regarding clean lap. I just wanted to verify if this complies with the rules:

• 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
• Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track

I turned in a fraction to early, but when I saw the replay, i noticed both track side tires never touched the dirt. Thanks!

I think its just me but I always shoot for a clean forza-style lap. I have no issues with the FRS rules but I think, for me, I just hate seeing that "!" in a triangle.
