I think its just me but I always shoot for a clean forza-style lap. I have no issues with the FRS rules but I think, for me, I just hate seeing that "!" in a triangle.

No I'm the same lol

After my first 10 lap stint, sitting on a 01:31.747 (lap 10). Feel i could eek out just under a second more if i put all the sectors together correctly lol.

It's clean 👍

Jerome

Well if that's classed as clean I shall no longer be participating. As far as I am concerned that is blatant cheating(no offence Shawty), not one tyre is touching any tarmac. The lap should be void if it has a triangle next to it. I refuse to cheat like that.

I know where you are coming from hennessey and I'd hate to see you go :(

But the penalty system in FM4 isn't perfect and the rules for the WRS at GTPlanet work well. Everyone is on a level playing field and can do the same thing.

Rumble Strips are part of the track. The penalty system in Forza 4 is strict, so long as two tyres are vertically in line with the track at all times, its ok. He had 2 tyres vertically in line with the track, so its clean by FRS standards. This was all outlined in the OP.

EDIT: Dammit Tree'd by Jump Ace!

Treed!

I know you are not attacking me personally, but I just want to state in no way was I trying to blatantly cheat, which is why I made the effort to see if this infringed on the rules. I always strive to post a clean lap by FM's standards, it irks me as well submitting a lap time that isn't, but so long as I am within the FRS rules and regulations then I am ok with it.

I am gonna have another go at it later on, hopefully I will improve and have a 100% clean lap as well. 👍

Yes its not you I have the problem with mate, the rules need looking at if that is classed as clean

I know its a tough to implement a fair system it just looks far to much to me, I always thought atleast one or two tires had to be on tarmac. I aint quiting yet it was a heat of the moment thing :dunce:

Believe me T-12 and I spent a bit of time with the penalty system in FM4 (biggest reason for the delays in getting it started) and I was expecting to use the /!\ as a simple clean/dirty indicator but it invalidates laps that are obviously very clean.

So we had to make a choice:

A) We use similar WRS rules for the FRS and allow a larger margin of error (easier to complete laps too, hopefully encouraging participation) and is a proven system through the years.

or

B) We use the penalty system as it is 100% no exceptions and people get invalidated improperly when the replay shows all 4 tires on the track. We saw it as a possible deter-ant (sp?) from the FRS as it would discourage continuous participation.

We chose path A, but really there was no 'clear winner' in the end. HTH and we'd love to see ya stick around 👍

My largest issue with the forza style system is how you might get a penalty on the last few corners and even if you have a long straight, the next lap is invalidated. There have been only a few instances where I feel like the forza system is too strict but the example I have stated is my main culprit. I can understand why Forza implemented this but at the same time, it prompts you to run more laps than needed.

The rumble strips are indeed part of the track but in many cases like the one pictured, the line taken almost never leads into anything remotely clean.

Submitted my final time. Eeked out all the time i think i could, confident it could get me my first FRS win :) but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm serious when I ask this question. Does the game fault you dirty if the bottom of the car hits the ripple strip?

I ran some laps today and got marked dirty. I didn't feel like it was so I looked at the replay and I'm clearly clean. Two tyres remained on (or above as I did get a little air) ripple strip.

Your thoughts please.

1:32.919 is all I have time for to set, so I will submit that... It's a Forza clean lap though :) I'm with hennessey on this one, I think the rules may be clear, but it's taking it too far, so I refuse to submit any lap that is flagged dirty by Forza.

I must be messing something up fierce because I cannot, for the life of me, string together a time I'm satisfied with.

I've also been making sure any laps I submit are clean to both Forza and FRS standards. The only annoying thing about this week for me is the Forza leaderboards barely ever save replays on this track so I have to go through my replay to find out which lap it was I set my lap on. Yes I'm lazy like that.

The car is surprisingly fast considering we haven't added any upgrades or changed the setup, it's getting well within the top 1% of the leaderboard in game.

I agree! My time is also the fastest for S class for me on this track.

I think somebody going too get under 1;31.00 I know I could if i had more time
I might get one more shot at it tonight
good luck

I too only submit forza clean laps it just feels wrong having i dirty lap

Got too 1:34.594 on the first attempt.

If you can use the run offs on some of these spots then shaving off a bunch of time is possible. This has a lot of areas in the infield that you can swing wide and keep more speed while being flagged by the game.

Yep, sometimes it does that

Totally clean. :sly: You can see the replay, but it's on lap 12. Sorry.
