Oh right, next week is oval racing time! Good thing I have me v8 under the bonnet ;) I bet I'll put the skinniest crappiest tires on it with no suspension upgrades and rip 600bhp out of that Ford engine! (and fly by R2 cars ) Hardly...
Don't even joke about that Forcone. :nervous:

I ran some tuning laps last night and went from a 49:xxx to high 46:xxx, so I am very curious to see how the rest of you R2 guys do, not saying that my time is competitive but with a track with 4 turns, I can devote some more concentration. Only problem is my transmission is already maxing out and Aero is bottomed out, not to sure how much more psi I can get into my tires before I get a 190mph blowout!

Same here... but whats odd is that no matter if i choose a speed tune or a grip tune.. your still 2 seconds faster you jerk. Wish I would have made it to this last race.. I wouldnt have minded if I missed the oval race lol!
Why I gotta be a jerk?

I just checked the leader boards and I'm publicly accusing you of sandbagging. No way I'm 7 seconds faster than your best effort so far. :odd:

Yeah I noticed that too, that was with my previous setup. Have to change it "a bit"...

I knew that wasn't right. I'm sure somebody will get into the 59's. I've only tried 2 setups and already hit 1:00.4xx, and I've got no idea how to tune for ovals. :dunce:

Me neither lol. I think I'm just going to stick with what I got as I have tried a few different tunes and they either lose to much speed in the turns or they just dont go fast enough.

You must have one hell of a car for this then! I tried something different in tuning and got something like 1:05, have to see if I can do better in the morning. :)

1:00.168 now, but I'm still looking for you to pull your usual qualifying stunt. You'll wait until the last minute and put up a 58:xxx. :nervous: I slid a little on the last corner of my fast lap, so it should go a little faster....but the last time I said my car could go faster, I couldn't manage to actually get a better time. :ouch:

Thats a good time you got there Wiggs......Can I hire a driver on this track??...If so I got dibs on M. Rossi...

Thanks. Rossi would ruin the race though. He's the fastest AI driver, but he still sucks. :P I'll wait for Forcone and Hamster to make their serious qualifying runs before I get too happy about my time. :nervous:

I'm thinking I might have to go bigger than 15" with my rims... :D Feels like the tires are about to pop off them in the corners! But that will completely ruin the look of my car.... :( I'll be online during the next hour to try and improve my time.

edit: Man this is ridiculous! I've tried every different type of build and haven't managed 1:03's yet. Stupid :P

This one is all about the car, not a single bit about driving it..

I'm going run a minimum downforce setting later for fun
Yeah, I have had my aero both @ middle and down all the way and my psi range from 30-45 and could only manage 46:8xx. Can't seem to get much faster. My transmission Final drive is pretty much maxed. Haven't messed with suspension components, would these adjustments be worth playing with to better my time on an oval?

Well technically, since we only steer to one side, you only need grip on that side. I'm going to try some settings and see if I can do some damage to your time :D

Forcone is in danger of coming in dead last in qualifying. Hamster is a couple seconds ahead of Forcone right now.

Im toping at 150 on turn 3.......this is frustrating...maybe I can only go so fast in a Escort
I top out at 155 in the M3....going thru the turns at 146.
Hey don't forget it's only Monday. We know Forcone longer than today :D

You're right...Forcone is probably just messing with us. He'll probably put up his real time Wednesday just before midnight.

Just ran a 45.886 lap on Indy. Turned the aero way down, and it still seems pretty stable.

Chris, I'm around 199mph

How the h*ll do you do that!? I can do corners like 130mph most, if I use better tires I can't manage faster than ~146mph on the straights. Maybe the Mustang just isn't that aerodynamic...

edit: I'm losing my hopes with this :D Still no 1:03's. M3 with a silly 498PI quick tune wipes the floor with my Mustang!

I refuse to waste any more time with my car on this track....

You've brought the wrong car...is what I'd like to say, but I won't rub it in....and I'm sure you'd make me eat my words later. Seriously guys, just let me have my moment....I haven't had very many of them in the first 2 championship series. Forcone, I doubt aerodynamics has much to do with it. Have you seen the E30? It's about as boxy as you can get. :P I have the fastest M3 on the boards, by the way. :)

OK, I think I've found my final build, now it is just up to tuning it properly... :D 670kW/1189kg on stock tyre compound. It's a bit of a wild ride. Tops out at 296km/h on straights..! Now off to work, have to try again in the evening!

This track/race is going to be interesting. One person getting a little too close to the wall could have serious consequences. I use either cockpit or hood view and both make it very difficult to grasp my depth perception on the straight where the shadow lies, have had numerous altercations during my test laps.
