A friend was told that the French do not allow any engine mods on street cars :odd: If not why??
I was wondering if any one here has info on this.

I heard that to. Most of Europe has a thing against that. I have a friend over in germany. He told me that he's lucky to find some one to race. He wants to move here to the states just so he can race his car.

In England, theres some guys who have some kick ass mods, If you ever go to Barnes & Noble, look for a magazine called Japanese Performance, its imported from England, and there is some wicked **** in there.

Vat, I know that France's PM is supposed to lean to the right. I am speaking from American definitions. If the mod ban, assuming it's there, is noise based, it may be right wing, if it is environmental it probably is left wing. I suspect it's the latter. There are other issues, which may even be libertarian. Oh, and if you knew some of are liberals, and of course consertatives, you might be less :bomb:

And if you were referring to my giving a dictator like command in the name of liberal policy, I see, but again, if you knew our left :P.

If you ask that of everyone that disses or dissed the French you'd be keeping stats for 100 years.

Well, given that liberals are generally seen as left wing, and fascists right wing, your post did cause me some degree of pain.

I'm pretty sure this is an environmental thing. Most European cities do suffer from fairly severe vehicle related pollution, so I would imagine it would be related to that.

And let's face it - who's going to rice up a diesel Xantia?

Some call liberals and left wingers different groups.

My understanding is that the far left=socialism; far right=fascism.

Boy I didn't think that modding a car was such a political experience ;)

Nest topic will be more in the political vein and see if I can get some car mods out of it  ;)
