Welcome to Friendly Races Sunday Cup

I did start a community in GT SPORT named Friendly Races. The idea was all about fun and clean racing so at first I did set it like not champion ship or big competition but only theme lobby on regular schedule such as tribute to a car or VS, tribute to a track etc etc …...
Now after a few weeks on hold I decided to make a fresh start next September with a Cup that I will run from September 2019 to June 2020 with point system and hope it will be a fun and fair contest.
It’s gonna be called Sunday Cup Classic Cars Season 2019 – 2020.

What about Friendly Races >>
Main goal >> Nice gathering and fun on track
Main events >> Sunday Cup and Le Mans Racing
Main rules >> Drive your best pay attention on each other try to keep 2 wheels on track
Main caution >> Before enter the lobby please don’t forget to clean cache
Restart exception >> exclusively for lobby malfunction such as lots drivers frozen on grid or lots players disconnected during first lap only

Sunday Cup Classic Cars Season 2019 - 2020

The event will take place on Sunday Afternoon (17:30 CET 16:30 UTC - BST)
In case some drivers enter the lobby after Qualify is started they will be allowed to join, jump in fast as they could and make their best on track, it will be no restart for anyone or any reason after Qualify is done and race as started in good condition (except for lobby malfunction such as lots drivers frozen on grid or lots players disconnected during first lap only). No restart for anyone joining lobby after race as started.

  • Start Type – Grid with false start

Race Organization >>
Each event will have 2 cars on 2 endurance races

Between races I will let 10 minutes practice for the second car

  • Qualify for first Race start 17:30 CET / 16:30 UTC – BST / 10:30 CST
  • Qualify for second Race start 18:15 CET / 17:15 UTC – BST / 11:15 CST

Pole = 1 Best Lap = 1

If a driver give up during race and stay in the lobby till the finish I will get a 1 point bonus.

Warning >>
A driver will get a 1 point warning in the conditions below:
  • If trying to pass in an unappropriated condition or in tough move, run off track he’s opponent and didn’t wait to give the position back.
  • Taking over another car under penalty (it makes only good sens that the penalty should be purge to do so).
  • Cutting the track at the same place to offend during a race (we all could lost grip or breaking late and cut the track by accident) I will only give this warning if it looks on purposes and regular.
  • And also all behaviors that doesn’t match the clean racing that is defined in GT Sport and Gtplanet by The Good Racecraft Guide.

Point penalty >>
  • if a driver get a penalty during the race and pass the finish line with the penalty still active he will receive 2 points penalty on he's season score.
  • If a driver rich an amount of 3 warnings (will be count race after race) he will receive 2 points penalty on he's season score.

I hope to see you next Sunday Cup on track

Thanks for your support @richroo 👍
I really enjoyed the event on Tsukuba. As I already said for the first one it went very well and it's promising for the future.
The fuel is hard to manage when there is endurance race set with time and not number of laps, I also put more than I needed. @fadmad did a great job no pit and ended empty tank 👍

This evening I'll post a resume about Sunday Cup Round 1:cheers:

Sunday Cup Round 3 Subaru WRX STI VS Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final

20190129174307.jpg

Here we are 3thd Round for Sunday Cup. I’m glad we did keep it running great.

Only one disappointment during last event one driver had the worst attitude on track push 2 other in crash then leave right a way 👎. That is not the spirit we want to share in Friendly Races. I thought friendly meant some thing but apparently for some it doesn't
Any way we’ll be still racing and prove those bad guys we’re on right track.

For next Sunday I’d like a VS race with Japaneses 4W Subaru WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final on Sainte-Croix B

I MIGHT show up for this this week (and in the future), but most likely won’t until next Sunday. Seems like a good companion to the A-Z racing later in the day.

So there’s this at 15:00, A-Z at 18:00, and my Toyota series at 21:00. Sundays are great.

Good to see some of the old classic car racing crew again.

HI @bloodyboyblue nice to see you getting in 👍 you'll be very welcome
All drivers in the community drive fair and clean
The events that I will set might be different could be any kind from LMP to old and classic cars tribute
As you I really miss old muscle car racing  and that is one off the reason I did start this thread.

See you on track mate :gtpflag:

Sunday Cup Round 2 results

Sunday Cup Round 2 went well thank you guys for nice driving and respect on track.

20190128095104.jpg

First Race Alsace – Village Corvette Stingray Convertible C3 69

Unfortunately first lap Sheeshyman and hudurtounge had crash and they did abandon the race at that point both with broken cars.
After reviewing the replay turn out hudurtounge and Sheeshyman got run off by mo_speedo13.
The race split in 2 groups 3 in front YvesJan gu1tar3rich and GOE1963 3 behind Suti1955 Fadmad_gt5 Suti1955 and Tom_Ascar. In the back HippywifaGun and iamabily struggle with C3 big time. The second group fought well for several laps Fadmad_gt5 got Tom_Ascar after pit and was pass few laps after. At the end YvesJan was running out of tires with gu1tar3rich ready to pass him. I’m sure one more lap and gu1tar3rich could have take over.

Regulation>> mo_speedo13 is no longer allowed to participate in future events

Second Race Corvette Stingray C7 ‘14 Blue Moon Bay Speedway – Infield A

Oups here we had to jump from C3 69 to C7 14 that was the challenge.
First corner went well YvesJan started he’s way trough the pack and as usual HippywifaGun visit the grass a a bit. GOE1963 broke front down force by sliding on the wall and had to pit on third lap. HippywifaGun chose to pit 8th lap and that looks like a good strategy HippywifaGun ended 2 on finish line. R_Soriano_s tried all race with no pit but couldn't do it run out of fuel last lap. Gu1tar3rich pushed hard before last lap Tom_Ascar was under big presure unfortunately Gu1tar3rich run out of Fuel during last lap as GOE1963, Suti1955, R_Soriano_s and Fadmad_gt5 .

Great racing again , nice Tom ..
Had damage too at bluemoon, hit the wall after i had pitted and thought i'd put enough fuel in .. :(

Hello GTS friends
Tomorrow it is race day :gtpflag: I'm looking forward to it
I'll be setting another Sunday Cup after this one and should take a break for at least one Sunday because of work :boggled:

See you soon on track

Hey Tom , are we doing 25min x2 change car ? And how to split lobby for car choice first round ? :)

No it is a 50 minutes race you have to pick a car Subaru WRX STI or Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final
But you are right 👍 for a VS race it could be more fun to drive both cars
I'll keep that in mind for next Sunday

Practice lobby open  Event in 45 minutes

The Race

This Sunday Cup was tricky about the Fuel lots of us ended empty tank on finish line. It looks like the best strategy was to make 2 pits, in order to be sure to have enough fuel and race with good tires. I did experiment it with gu1tar3rich got him twice in the pit but couldn't resist with bad tires. The first part of race was a rough fight between bloodyboyblue and Sheeshyman. It was exactly the VS I was looking for thank you both for that great racing. bloodyboyblue in Subaru WRX STI Sheeshyman running Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final.

20190205172717.jpg

Next Sunday Cup is gonna be a VS like the last we had on St Croix, racing 2 cars and compete with the best we could is something I really enjoy .

As for this 2 cars I couldn’t find a proper balance that makes them almost equal I will follow @richroo idea and run 2 races. That way we will enjoy racing with both cars I think it should be more fun. The second race will be revers grid and each drivers should use both car during the event.

Sunday Cup Round 4

20190211084047.jpg

Again Sunday Cup Round 4 went well thank you all for the great spirit on track 👍. This week-end we had only 7 drivers but who need more when there is the best you have.

Unfortunately I have to put Sunday Cup on hold for 2 weeks.

It will start again March 03 I’ll keep you posted

First race >>
For the first race bloodyboyblue and Sheeshyman started in front they manage to make a gap during the first laps and they both keep that spot the all race. Sheeshyman tried to overtake bloodyboyblue in the pit but was a bit to sort. Behind them a group of 3 drivers Fadmad_gt5, Simba2009Lora and Tom_Ascar fought for several laps. Simba2009Lora toke over when Fadmad_gt5 slide off track and step by step Simba2009Lora make his way far from Tom_Ascar and Fadmad_gt5.

I did forgot to save the replay sorry guys no pictures 👎 stupid Tom did it again :lol::lol::lol:
Simba2009Lora make a nice start and lead almost the all race but bloodyboyblue make his way trough the pack and after pit toke over Simba2009Lora. Iamabily tried a different strategy pit at the last time, unfortunately it didn’t work form him. Poor Fadmad_gt5 had lots trouble with the Supra 3.0GT TURBO during that race.
