iRacing is still incredibly fun

And incredibly expensive.

The saviour of all racing games that released to pretty severe critique isn't overhyped or underwhelming?

Severe critique from who? The tracks are mostly well modelled, the cars all handle quite realistically, so far the fastest driving style is a realistic driving style, there are very few bugs that I've come across (the game very occasionally crashes, and there's a weird bug with wheel calibration). The AI are fairly quick and don't just follow one line, they actually attempt to race you, a bit aggressively at times, although admittedly I've come across things that they couldn't handle, like the Oulton Park International chicanes, and the hairpins at Silverstone GP in F1 cars at the start of a race.

As for bad things, some of the online lobby options can be annoying, where you have to reopen a lobby to change the class of car (although that's only a minor annoyance). And then the only thing I really don't like is the contact physics, they're horrible.

Overall though I don't see what people are complaining about, even online with randoms is great half the time.

EDIT: Oh, and I don't like karts, although that could be because you rely so heavily on the feel through the seat when driving a kart, which obviously we don't have.

Just had a great few races with @Yeratel84 and @KamyKaze1098, all different cars, amazing racing. If I can find a private pCars league then it will be fantastic - unfortunately a few randoms trying to ruin things as always.

Karts felt really bad to me too, but they do in every game, no surprise there for me.

The Clio (FWD) feels perfect, drives just like a real life Clio Cup car. I don't know how they could make it more accurate - dry weather, wet weather, it feels just right. Spurgy seems to be saying the same thing too in regards to driving physics, so I think they've got it spot on 👍

Oh and good news, I beat Yera at Laguna Seca (his favourite circuit??), so frankly my work here is done.

Eurgh Yera is faster than me on pCars (currently)...

I particularly enjoyed Formula C (aka F3), at Monza on a wet track where I got pole by nearly 3 seconds (including Mole :P)... unfortunately the host had rolling starts on, which are terrible, and then I got wrecked on T1 (even lost two wheels)

I like the track, but it's far from being my favourite, even though I already won a 17 laps wet race there with GT3s (by far my most driven category). Spa is and will always be my favourite track, both on GT6 and pCARS :D:tup:

Yeah I was being a bit of a noob in that race. Any setup tips? First time driving that car, I made a ton of setup changes and they only made me slower really. Only car I feel confident in is the Clio and the FGulf to an extent at the moment.

Asking me for setup tips? I've been racing most cars stock (including that one), with only slight changes to tyre pressure depending on car/track combo to allow for more balanced tyre temps across all 4 wheels

Well when you compare it to the £40 I spent on PCars, it's very expensive.
I'm assuming racing against guys like Scott Sharp, Bubba Wallace, etc. isn't obtainable on PCARS. Plus, I've heard from multiple people that all cars on there drive the exact same. I have no doubts compared to GT6 it is bonerific, but iR has the online community where racing happens 24/7 which is good for someone like me who can't devote the same time each week to racing

Only about 5 people outside of the USA have heard of Bubba Wallace.

Never heard of either of them  And people who tell you all the cars drive the same really don't know what they're taking about. Yes you have a better community and you can pretty much have a competitive race whenever you want which would be great, but you've spent roughly over 5 times as much as I have.

And it's totally worth it.
