Probably. It's not like I've ever even driven on this track, and wouldn't want to enter Saturday's event with no prior knowledge of anything. :dopey:
It's a terrible track and tbh you're better off having not driven on it.

It's worse than Fuji.

At least this track isn't artificially cut into near the end. If you said Abu Dhabi or Valencia, or Sochi I would agree.

At least the Ring actually has a flow to it.
It's everything that people bitch about Tilke tracks. Long straight. Insanely tight turn. Repeat. Then technical section. Then more sharp turns. Plus it's a butchering of a classic track.

Literally every complaint about Tilke rolled into 2 miles of terribleness.

Worst thing about A1 Ring is the ****** astro turf on corner exits, old days you could just floor it on the exit...

The track the A1 ring was built on had a flow to it, the new one is just stop start and boring.

I think it would be recognised as being much better than it is if it wasn't for being in the Osterreichrings shadow.

Best Tilke track IMO is Sepang.

Agreed.

Agreed again.

So I did some practice on that track. My opinion? The run-off on the first and last corners is horrible, and I'm worried about divebombing in multiple corners. On the other note, I hope the Citroen goes on to have a nice straight line advantage over the ballasted Audis, and that I'd manage another top 5 qualifying effort. :mischievous:

There were mentions of Red Bull BullRing being a Renault track(surprise?) as well. From a Aigle Gurre standpoint the question is can @cnd01 challenge for a podium or two and can I get to the lower mid-field? :embarrassed: And from a Renault standpoint, will the others join in and help lay claims to RBBR being the turf of Les Diamants Français?

A1 Ring went surprisingly well last season, although I think that was more that the specs spread the cars out enough to avoid carnage.
