This might be a really stupid question, but I haven't seen it either asked or seemingly answered within this thread.
Can PSP hybrids be used in GT5's arcade mode, via the portable garage system, or do they revert to what they should be when you do this?
Do you plan to research this game like you did in GT3?I still have my PSP and GT for it, so I may give this a shot and see what happens.

Good! Im not as smart as you are but I could probly help out abit. Alot has already been discovered by Sinist3rX in the past years, unfortunately he was banned long ago, but i think we can take it a step further.I do, but at the moment it's a lower priority than other GT games.
Resurrecting this from the dead a bit here
I've just started playing GTPSP again after years of neglect, started hybriding again but running into a few issues I can't work out:
1. Turbo upgrades. Every time I use the Turbo Upgrade codes I get a car with stupid HP/Kw in the vicinity of 5000kw +.
Surely there is a way to use the GT4 turbo upgrade codes to be specific for the engine/car you are hybriding?
i.e If I want to upgrade my Mitsubishi 3000GT MR (J) `95 with Stage 1 Turbo the GT4 code is a 2 part code with the variable being the highlighted :
20A2A680 0000103C
20A2A684 0000000E
Now the GTPSP code for Turbo Stage 1 is :
_L 0x2146B364 0x49AA7D23
_L 0x2146B2C0 0x00000000
_L 0x2146B2C4 0x00000010
All that happens when I apply that code is MASSIVE power. I don't want that. I want realistic power or atleast a way to adjust the power to a specific figure.
2. Boost Gauge. I'm pretty sure there was a way that we got the boost gauge to work on a non-turbo car with a turbo engine hybrid in it. Is there a code laying about somewhere for this?
I know this is an old, OLD thread but worth a shot
can you leave me a link for a cheat.db that you can change the cars moto please?? i want to vtec swap a mini. thanks.Hiya there guys!
To anybody still interested in GT PSP hybriding and thirsty for information, simply reply here.
I'm active all the time and will respond to any questions.
Even though this thread might seem to be dead (and tbh it had been for quite a few years), I'm definitely not.
Time to bring all this back to life!
Just checked it and its is de eu version, and i would bem grate full if you got me that VTEC code, seriously thanks man, you don't even know and you helping me a lot, thanks VoltigeurGT.Although I'm helping kossoku in a separate conversation rn, I figured writing sth here too wouldn't hurt.
You'll have to specify the version of the game (EU/US) so I can post the right codes and cheat.db.
Once I know that I'd include the basic codes inside the cheat.db so you can get to hybriding in-game right away, and I could also include a separate code in there just for the VTEC engine from the Civic if you wanted
Side note: in case you've got the EU version, there's not as much info available, but as long as you don't care about some Drift Trial modding shenanigans and stuff, you should be fine.
Everything done right . I'm ready.Alrighty then, EU version it is.
It doesn't really matter which CFW (custom firmware) you've got as long as the CWCheat you have is compatible with your CFW. The most popular CFW version is 6.60, which I have myself.
Let's start:
First, connect your PSP to your PC/laptop using a mini-USB cable and set your PSP to USB Connection.
Then, open the PSP directory>seplugins
In this folder you should find a .txt file called GAME, if there isn't one just create a new text file with this name (in notepad), and make sure it contains this line and nothing else:
ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheat.prx 1
Save this and next, along with the GAME.txt you should also see a folder called cwcheat in seplugins, open that folder and there should be a cheat.db file.
Alrighty, lemme know if you got everything like I said. If you did, we can move on and I'll post the cheat.db file, but if something's wrong we gotta get it right beforehand.
I'm trying my best to guide you through this, hope it works.
Men i have online classes tomorow i canot do it right now but i promisse i Will wake up as soon as i can just to get this done, good night if it is night on tour country and man.... THANKS I'm reeeeeeeeally happy and i hope i can do something for you on the future, as soon as i can i Will Record a video and post it so you can see it . THAAAAANKS.Nice! We're gonna be able to breeze right through at this rate.
Replace the file with the cheat.db I posted below, you gotta unzip it first. This is the official cheat.db file, but it had a lot of unnecessary codes and some duplicates, so I made sure it's not a mess, I also included a code for the Civic VTEC and the Veyron engine, as well as all other codes needed to hybrid cars, from brakes to gearbox values.
Now save all that, unplug your PSP and hold the "select" button for a while, then release it and a menu pops up. Select "recovery menu" and go to "plugins". Go to "cwcheat.prx [GAME]" and press X once, now it should say "enabled" on the far left. It's possible it was enabled already, but just to check.
Exit out of the menu and start the game.
Now keep in mind all the parts codes (except the vtec and veyron engine obviously) are empty however, they all look like this:
0x00000000
so you need to change them to whatever parts you want.
I'm posting another file (GTPSPParts.xls), where you can find almost all the codes for almost all the parts.
It'll look like like this:
Honda Mobil 1 NSX (JGTC) `01 Engine normal 20A2A608 000005F5
What you need is the last part, in this case:
000005F5
If you modify the engine cheat in-game to this value and activate it, voila, you can have any car with the Honda Mobil 1 engine (or any part for that matter). To do so (assuming you're in-game) , hold select until cwcheat pops up. Enable cheats first thing, then go to "select cheats" and there you'll find the cheats. Press square on a cheat to modify the value, take for example the engine I mentioned, change 0x00000000 to 0x000005F5, activate it, get inside some car and boom, it's gonna have the Honda Mobil 1 engine.
Now comes the part where you're free to try out whatever combinations you want. Let your imagination loose.
Remember: If you want a car you modified to stay modified, get it into your "favourites" list. If you want to revert a car back to its original state (mostly in case you messed sth up), just un-favourite it, change into some other car and just like that, the previous car got "reset".
Also, really important is that if you swap engines, be prepared that it might mess up the gear ratios. In that case, change the cheat "GAS" (gear auto setting). Higher values, for example 0x00003B00 means a bit shorter gears (Formulas have it default like 7000), and 0x00000090 would be a really long gearbox. You gotta experiment, each engine reacts different.
I'm sure you'll find some cases where you won't know what to do with certain codes or how to look up their values if you don't find them in the files I sent. If so, you can always ask me again.
Good luck with hybriding
Looks like you're really eager to start hybriding aye? That's good, motivation is key, it's a bit complicated starting off. As for recording a video, you don't really have to, but if it makes you that happy then why not of courseMen i have online classes tomorow i canot do it right now but i promisse i Will wake up as soon as i can just to get this done, good night if it is night on tour country and man.... Só it goe's like this , at first i just switched the cheat.db and then i went um game and it worked i opened the cheat and i clicked on the VTEC cheat pressed select to save an it froze then the PSP turned off (did that Multiple Times and it went all the same even with other cheats) so i went to your explanation post and i Saw that the game.txt file i had ir diferente ("my" version : "ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat.prx 1" withou quotes and then i saw that you had writen "ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheat.prx1" which one is right and can you help me get it working? Thanks for your helpLooks like you're really eager to start hybriding aye? That's good, motivation is key, it's a bit complicated starting off. I wonder what cars you'll come up with...
Good night to you too! (It's just past midnight here in baguette country lol)
